    On the day that Enrique Freeman announces he's returning to Akron for his senior season John Groce should be awarded the 2024 MAC Coach of the Year Award. This dude honestly could star at just about any school in America. I can see Nate Oats dialing his number right now!

    If I'm not mistaken I was listening to an Akron radio broadcast on FB Live and there was a PSA or non-profit "ad" that Enrique voiced. Not sure if that constitutes NIL income. All that I've seen at ANY mid-major school is athletes with sites selling hoodies, t-shirts and PJs with their logo/face or similar. Greg Tribble's was nice, and < $20.

    Kent was and is the better team. They defeated Toledo with the same force they defeated Akron -- overwhelming numbers of excellent players. They lose 3 or 4 starters next season? The MAC will be up for grabs again!

    If there is a mass exodus, this might be the first sign. Jamisyn Stinson is a top 5-10 junior in Ohio and was offered by Melissa a year ago. No other offers appeared after that. Still looks like just Akron's offer on the table.

    For info: The geniuses who maintain the University of Akron athletics website have corrected the roster and now after at least 6 months have Kobe Mitchell and Nate Johnson listed as "R-Fr". So I don't have to ask if the players plan to leave school early.
