  1. I noticed that Kaia Woods' dad retweeted or liked my retweet of this tweet. That raised my interest! Kaia is just 5-3 and a sparkplug. Check out her HS #s.
  2. Lauren Ross the fine WMU guard decommitted from CMU. I wonder where she might land...
  3. Her sister Jamisyn was offered by them a few weeks ago, so they'll likely be together.
  4. Apparently it was the academy's decision. https://www.stripes.com/sports/2023-02-16/navy-football-suspends-starting-slotback-vincent-terrell-9164277.html
  5. From what I've read, they must transfer prior to starting their junior year, after which they have the same service commitment as any other cadet. I'm asking around to my Punahou ohana friends about this kid. He was a local hero.
  6. First tweet of approval from none other than coach Dawn Staley. And this explains why! Whatta get!! https://www.thestate.com/sports/college/university-of-south-carolina/usc-womens-basketball/article274112615.html
  7. Frankly I thought Bob Boldin was in trouble in Athens. He's def on the hot seat going into 23-24.
  8. Did we get turned down by a higher profile candidate?
  9. First feeling is I am impressed with this hire. I've followed Bill Fenelly's teams since he came here in the late '90s and had Brenda Frese (now Maryland HC) on his staff and one of her sisters as a player. Brenda coached Ball State and Minnesota before MD. Only concern is...does Latoja Schaben have any head coaching experience. None recently for sure. But a great pedigree and resume. Not sure how it could be instantly panned. She has a big first step ahead in keeping the talent currently on board that is MAC quality, before finding the obviously needed depth to make the team a contender. Keep an open mind Zips fans!
  10. I'm not very familiar with Bally. Did they buy out the FoxSports regional networks? That's where I used to view the John Groce Show -- as recent as two (maybe one) year(s) ago.
  11. I'm not sure what the question is regarding Enrique's ability to have a fifth graduate year. Almost certain any SA can take a fifth year of eligibility if they've graduated. And he has never transfered even once. Honestly I am amazed at the loyalty Enrique is showing to the Akron program and coach Groce, but at the same time I really would like to see how he matches up on an every game basis against the best in the sport. I believe he's good enough to start for virtually any team in America. And as I mentioned earlier, coach Groce's ability to bring Rique back in 23-24 in itself earns him my vote for Coach of the Year for 2024.
  12. Any chance?? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️ https://iuhoosiers.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/coaches/rhet-wierzba/3425
  13. 6 years ago...And he still has eligibility...? Only in CBB 2023. 😵
  14. Thing here is, Iona (pre-Pitino at least) wasn't a promotion over Fairleigh Dickinson. Not sure how IU gets alot more $$ for coaches (rich Catholic alumni? 😁) My only past knowledge of FDU was seeing them beat Hipsher's team for 7th place in a tournament in Honolulu in 2000, and that the Adidas 3-Star camp used to be held there -- Sonny Vaccaro & Co.
  15. We will see... hopefully sooner, rather than later. 😁
  16. Yes. I have to think the list is through 2022-23, because last time I looked (earlier this season) Enrique was not listed. 👍
  17. Waiting for LeBron, in ...1...2... 🤔
  18. Freeman is already the all-time rebounding record holder?? I've been trying to find the numbers. I have doubts that he has broken the record (nearly 1300) in just 3 years. Can someone post an updated list, please?
  19. Hire her and get a famous national anthem singer in the deal? https://www.wideopencountry.com/brandon-blackstock/
  20. What's the news on Luke Skaljac of Brecksville? How was his junior season. He was maybe the first '24 player Groce offered.
  21. Mahalo ME 102. I'm impressed if only by your cut & paste skills! Not sure how you managed that without it all disappearing into thin air multiple times, as seems to happen when I compose over two paras. My best case scenario would be to get a top assistant from one of those always-ranked mid-major programs like UWGB, Missouri State, Gonzaga, etc., or a top young up-and-coming coach from that area. I did mention earlier Chelsea Lyles the Assoc HC to Karl Smesko at FGCU. She's going to be a great head coach some day and we'd might as well get her first. I expect Megan Vogel to take over for Borseth in a couple years. How about the coach at Cleveland State? She came in and moved her team way up the ranks very quickly. One hope I would have is that the new coach maintain the strategic style that Jodi Kest brought that everybody needs to be a shooter and the first player with an open 3-pointer takes it. That's the way the game has developed and how mid-majors beat P-5s.
  22. Or when Charles arrived in town! lol (but only slightly) 😒
  23. WAC regular season champs UVU starts NIT play at New Mexico tonight. Imagine if Aziz had stayed and we had a rim protector averaging nearly 3 blocks per game! https://www.abqjournal.com/2581868/nit-basketball-new-mexico-men-get-the-home-court-but-face-tall-order-in-utah-valley.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1678898424
  24. I mentioned Lanae a few weeks ago. She was probably the most heavily recruited player in the Akron area by Melissa Jackson. Signed with MTSU, played in just 6 games for nationally ranked team. She was offered by KSU and Miami from the MAC and a few mid-majors (Duquesne, St. Bonaventure, etc.). Don't know if there is any coach left behind who's recruiting. When Kest left, Jackson continued recruiting.
  25. As a tournament ticket-holder I can't disagree. And BTW, someone tell John Groce we still have one spot left for next December! 😃 https://collegehoopstoday.com/index.php/rothstein-files/field-for-2023-diamond-head-classic-nearly-set/
