I heard from a buddy of mine that Akron has picked up a transfer from the University of Miami (Hurricanes, not the team down south), he didn't know his first name, but he knew he was from PA and his last name is Johnson. Well I did a little research and this might just have some validity to it. Andrew Johnson from North Hills, PA who is a running back for the Hurricanes has been rumored to be transferring, but I was unable to connect him to Akron in any of the articles. It definitely needs to be a horseshoe or a bowl. If we could get a bowl that seats 25-30K that had the possibility to be expanded to 50k, it would be great. It's all about how a stadium is built and how much sound can bounce to increase the noise. I would like to build something that cosmetically looks like Nippert Stadium that Cinncinnatti plays in.

Add the Birmingham Bowl onto that list... it's either a Big East team or MAC team. So the MAXIMUM # of bowls the MAC could participate in is 4. Like Ryno said "we need to quit leaving our destiny up to others" we need to take care of business the rest of the year out of pride and hope to make a bowl game with an 8-4 record. If we get passed over at 8-4 I will personally be PISSED. If we get passed up at 7-5 then I will say "we messed that one up ourselves".

You just echoed what I was saying... I think he should get time regardless. BUT I was just trying to figure out why JD would not be giving him the reps... maybe I am putting too much faith in JD. I just have to think there's some kind of reasoning to the way he's handled this situation.

Ballingirl I agree with you I think CJ should be getting reps IF he's gonna be the starter next year. BUT the reality is, he hasn't gotten reps even with us getting blown out by Can't and blowing out North Texas... so it's not a matter of should he get reps (because he should), but why isn't he??? I am saying that maybe AZipsCrazy might be right... JD isn't worried about getting CJ playing time because JD might be leaning towards Hakes being Lukes replacement next year. I know that's thinking way too far ahead, but to be honest I don't see any other reason why CJ wouldn't be getting PT. I'm not in disagreement with you, I just think we might be asking the wrong question here.

I'm with ya Ballingirl, these guys are representing our University and should check their egos at the door. JD needs to pull out the "iron fist" and lay down the law. JD needs to instill some class and sportsmanship to this team, and get them to realize nobody is above the team. He should put the "pre-madonnas" on the team in their place.

C'mon guys we are spectators, JD's not stupid he knows what he's doing and if CJ was going to be the guy marching our Zips into Slow-lumbus next season he would be giving him more reps... right???

Can't got beat by Army and we beat N.C. State. It should help us alot then because N.C. State beat B.C. and Florida State.

CJ will get his opportunity to get some snaps before the end of the season, I think what were all saying is that we don't want him taking those snaps in a situation that has any significance. As crazy as it sounds we still have a shot at a bowl game and Luke gives us the best opportunity to win. But CJ will get his shot.

Luke is the QB and there is no reason as long as we are in the game to play any other QB. Why would we a throw kid into a ballgame who's got nerves like that, unless there is nothing to lose? You don't.

Kennedy has proven that when he's healthy he is a complete back. We would be fine had Alex Allen not gotten hurt. I think DK is the best running back on the team that we've seen thus far. There's no way anyone else can lay claim to the starting job if he's healthy whether he runs inside or outside it doesn't matter, that is determined by the playbook. And BTW the guys on the inside are the "bad boys" the outside consists of DB's and OLB's, the inside consists of the SS, DL, and ILB's it doesn't get tougher than that.

sgm405 - You are right in all that you said... BUT I don't think you are understanding what he's trying to accomplish. It's not a matter of OSU being our rival it's the simple fact that OSU fans don't respect Akron. He simply want to show people that the bucks aren't the only team in Ohio and not the only good team for that matter. RESPECT and we won't truly get it until the Zips roll into Columbus and win. P.S. Akron will win at OSU next year, you can take that to the bank!!!
