Why was the "be careful what you ask for..." thread closed??? It's definitely worth talking about. Especially because the season is over.First off I don't believe JD has earned a job at a higher level school yet. BUT he has the advantage of a special relationship with the Athletic Director at a school who's coach took a better job. If JD were to leave:I really would not be excited to have an OSU coach come to Akron, besides this year their offense has been pretty basic, and when you have less wealth of talent you need a complex system to overcome the talent gap. I would like their D-Coordinator Heacock but then it will be very important who he hires at O-coordinator because our Offense needs HELP!!! I mentioned Gary Crowton (Oregon O-Coordinator) I would really like to see that, their offense is AWESOME!!!(and it helps he's a disciplinarian) Also after doing some research here are my favorite replacements...1. Gary Crowton (Oregon O-Coordinator)(Has head coaching experience at BYU)2. Scott Loeffler (Michigan Quarterbacks Coach)(From Barberton Ohio) 3. Paul Petrino (Louisville Offensive Coordinator)4. Mike Schultz (TCU Offensive Coordinator/Running Backs Coach)(Coached LT)(Look what they've done with TCU)5. Jim Heacock (Ohio State Defensive Coordinator)What do ya'll think??? Even if it's not probable it's kinda fun to look at....

I think we all know that the chances of that happening is slim to none.But IF it did I would like to see Akron go big-time with the coach similar to OU picking up Solich after being at Nebraska, i.e. Dirk Koetter, Gary Crowton (Oregon O-Coordinator), or Paul Petrino (Louisville O-Coordinator)Not happening but fun to look at.

You can't blame another part of the team for the lack of performance by Getsy.

I agree I think the fact that Kennedy doesn't like to run up the middle is a big problem/difference between this year and last year. I do think Andre Walker did it well and didn't see why he didn't get more PT, especially after that great first drive against OU. I disagree about the catches though, I watched the game on ESPN U and I expect to have 2-3 drops per game. Jabari dropped 2 passes and Harvey dropped 1. The other pass that Jabari dropped was a poor pass down the sidelines which was behind him and he made a heck of an effort to make the catch. Lindsey is an exciting player to watch, I love the fact that he makes plays after the catch. Harvey and Lindsey are going to be the most exciting recieving duo the MAC's ever seen when they're done.Luke has proven that he is a descent QB, but I feel like as the season progressed he lost his composure when any team blitzed him. One of the most important things for a QB is to be able to stand in the pocket and deliver a ball even though you're gonna take a hit and I felt like he crumbled. I think we have all come to realize that he's not the GREAT QB, that he showed flushes of at the end of last season, but those were some high expectations some of us put on him. Heard he's a very heady kid (though he didn't show it on the field at times) so he'll probably go into coaching. 5-6 blows and so does 6-6... Let's win it for pride!!!

C'mon guys this is OU... -Their offense is one-dimensional, put 8 in the box and shut them down.-Their QB is arguably the worst QB in all of the 119 teams in the NCAA, NOT worried at all about the pass.-Their defense is solid against the run but mediocre against the pass, and hasn't faced recievers like Harvey and Jabari, or a QB that can pass as well as Getsy (when he's hot) .IF WE DONT BEAT THEM WE ARE NOT THE TEAM I THOUGHT WE WERE!!!

Better question: when was the last time Ohio beat Miami??!

Ohio only has to play Akron and Miami, they don't have any games after that. AND yes they have to lose both games for the Zips to get in to the MACC, and Can't has to lose one of their last two MAC games.

Yea CJ's pass was definitely purdy, wish we coulda seen more. Harvey is THE MAN!!!

No Offense but Frank "the Tank" Solich is pulling in 230k... and to be honest I think JD is a better coach than Solich. I still think the salary is low and after this stadium is built and we see more success it better be reworked or he'll be gone and fast.

Ballingirl, I didn't call you "crazy", I simply disagreed with you and felt Buffalo will not give us as much of a game as you think. To be honest as long as we play the way we can... everything will be fine. Also I'm not worried at all about us overlooking a team that just knocked off Can't, JD would not let that happen. If they do it's on JD because thats a coaches job to get his team prepared for the game. BUT like I said I don't see that happening and I see the Zips rolling big and CJ getting his long awaited PT. Now I don't think my statement was outlandish or wrong, it's just my opinion.

That's a bummer about Henderson... he was one of the recruits I was most excited about.

C'mon now Ballingirl... I agree with you that he's WAY TOO INCONSISTENT, BUT they are playing Buffalo this week.And NO I don't care what they did to Can't because . Ballingirl, don't you worry CJ will get his PT against Buffalo thats for sure... we should be able to jump on them quick and let CJ take over for the rest of the game.
