  1. Good to hear things are finally getting settled for the season opener. It's almost here, I can almost taste it... hahaha. Pretty suprised to hear that Robinson isn't higher on the Depth Chart.P.S. can we get a link???
  2. Charlies support is AWESOME!!!We also need to do our part and be more proactive by writing in to the ABJ, demanding more coverage (some was saying that they were restructuring their format over there and were looking for advice)... you would think that the newspaper would cater to the reader's preferences!!!
  3. No offense to the players that graduated from our Offense, because we all know they were good players, BUT the guys that are replacing them have more talent then they did (with the exception of Hixon). Jabari is going to be one of the premiere recievers in the MAC next year and he prove what kind of playmaking ability he has in the Motorcity Bowl. The Recievers are also deeper than ever, with five strong options after Jabari, in David Harvey, Brandon Williams, Jermaine Lindsey, Stephon Fuqua, and Johnny Long.At RB I think Dennis Kennedy is going to bring balance to the Offense that will just dominate the air. Disappointed to hear of ALex Allen's injury because he is the other back needed to complete the Offense but he'll be back next year, leaving us thin and young at RB. BUT I think Kennedy can carry the load this year. With Getsy and the O-line I just on't see how Akron's not in the top half. O well I know where they'll be by the end of the season.
  4. I don't think we are looking for a "big back", I mean Brett Biggs was like 5'8" as well. A scat back fits this system well, it's also really nice to have a strong back like Kennedy as the starter. Kennedy looks to be a durable back, and the when neede we'll change up the pace with Reed.
  5. Toledo's QB's are terrible... and I've never seen a team in the MAC be successful without a good QB period.
  6. 3 star DB Ryan Brinson is officially headed to Akron!!!http://rivals100.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=571759
  7. Here's a list:QB Sean HakesWR David HarveyWR Curtis BrownRB Aaris ReedOL Jason Sekinger (will count for this class)DL Dantley ClineDL Blake SmithDE Tevlin Petit-FrerLB Mickey BakerLB Shawn LemonDB Delvin DavisDB Wayne CobhamDB Amin KabirDB Dante BarnesK Igor Iveljicif I'm missing anyone let me knowReally disappointed that D.J. Henderson (the big WR) didn't make it up to Akron. Does anyone have the story behind it?
  8. How long will Charlie get to play in the Browns first pre-season game tonight?Good luck to him... hope he looks good tonight!!!
  9. It helps the undedog because IN THEORY, over time the better team will prevail so if the length of the game is shortened it will give an underdog a better chance of holding on to a lead at the end of a game. BUT I also see where two evenly matched teams will be in a bad situation where the team who is looking to answer a score at the end of the game will be forced to do so with a clock that runs more often (Akron vs. NIU).
  10. Thanks zippyrifle... DAMN he looks alot bigger, those coaches must have had those boys busting their butt this offseason. More importantly Getsy put on 10 lbs of muscle. Bravo!
  11. It says I need a username and password... if you could, see if you can upload the image.Try saving the image to your desktop, and uploading it in your message. Upload the photo at the bottom where it says "file attachments" and click the button "choose file".
  12. I'm so pumped that football is going to be starting up again... and I've got a couple of questions.1) Is fall camp "open" to the media?1A) What kind of coverage is there going to be of fall camp?2) Anyone know how long camp lasts?3) When do they strap on the pads? (Is it just helmet and shorts for the first few days or do they start cracking on day one?)
  13. thought this was interesting... 10.8 in the 100 meters and 22.1 in the 200 meters at DE... WOW!!! This kid sounds like a monster!!!
  14. OL Mark Jackson going to Prep School has me a little bit nervous he might go else where after completing his year there... anyone else worried about this?
  15. Looks like we have our "Randle El" WR... nice to have such a multi-faceted player on the team. He's only going to give defenses headaches trying to defend him. I love it.http://www.rivals.com/content.asp?cid=563914
  16. I think he'll be in for a bit of a suprise, we've got more talent than he thinks at reciever. Great grab though... if he works hard he'll definitely be a contributor.
  17. I'm not really worried about getting a "big" QB recruit this year... we just need to add depth. We've already got the next 4 years pretty secure but depth s needed at the position. I would look for Akron to try t pick up 2 solid QB's in this years class.
  18. Yea he did pick Marshall BTW... http://rivals100.rivals.com/commitlist.asp...2007&School=153
  19. Those are some nice predictions... it's nice to see people expecting big things out of this team. That's just one more step to getting where JD wants to take this program.
  20. Getsy on the front page of ESPN's college football section!!! It also gives a free preview of Akron...http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/indexhttp://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/insider/news/story?id=2512105
  21. Well after we win the MAC again this year we'd better lock JD up with the biggest contract in MAC history. Especially if we're serious about taking this program to another level, he's the key to doing so. I mean so far he's taken a program that was pretty unknown around the country, and we are now regarded by many BCS schools as a pretty solid mid-major to schedule. To take it to the next level we must win the MAC convincingly and win our bowl game and do even better in 2007. JD is the key to keeping this ball rolling and to keep him here we're going to have to shell out some cash. Although it may seem like we don't have that kind of money, wouldn't you think after back-to-back MAC championships and bowl appearances that we would be creating some kind of revenue boost??? If the reason there's not much of a revenue boost because of the size of the Motorcity Bowl than we have to pray that JD sticks aroun til 2008 when I think we'll have our best shot at being the next Utah and going to a BCS bowl. THEN let's pay the man like UCF paid O'Leary and keep him here for good.NOW the chances of all that happening might seem far fetched but check out our schedule in 2008 and the recruiting classes keep getting better and better, and so does the team. It's quite possible we could make a BCS bowl in 2008, BUT it's definitely not as possible w/o JD. SO SIGN THIS GUY ALREADY!!!
  22. Don't know if anyone has seen this but check this link out... for some reason the link to the story won't work but it does give this info. http://www.footballstadiumdigest.com/
  23. Everbody at Rivals say alot of things and things end up to be different... I heard that UCLA was one of the schools he was looking at from Rivals as well. Nobody gave a reason but I wouldnt see the reason in it. I could see him at 1AA before UCLA. Although you can never be deep enough at Running-back and I'd like to see him run all over OSu in The Shoe in an Akron jersey.
