You think UA didn't do a thorough economic analysis of the cost of the buyout vs. the cost of continuing to lose games and paying fans? Okey-dokey. Listen, the cost of an Ianello buyout has been a popular subject of discussion on ZN.o for months. A month ago, when many on ZN.o were saying UA would never eat a significant portion of Ianello's contract, I posted a dissenting opinion here. A few days ago a link to the contract was posted, and when some were still saying it was too rich to eat, I simply pointed out that it would not be as costly as some were thinking. It was a typical forum discussion that some found interesting and others didn't. There's no reason for anyone to obsess over it, pro or con. what's done is done, let's get Paul Winters now if we can't get Jim Tressel.

TW is is drinking buddy so I doubt Ianello didn't know about it before he started his drive. The irony is TW will catch all the bad publicity for this when he's good friends with the guy.

This all came after that twitter post saying he wasn't going to be fired, I think they were worried about some very angry Zips fan going crazy tonight. I understand the sentimental part regarding Rob and his situation, but they did the right thing for us Zips fans. I seriously was going crazy over this.

I'm hearing this decision was not made by Tom Wistrcill, but from the upper upper people. Hid job might be in jeopardy after Akron's soccer season is over. Because the Zips are heading to the national championship, Tom's got a couple more weeks left.

looks like I'll be going to the soccer watch party with a hangover, so happy right now knowing I can return my family to watching Zips football games. The funeral for Ianello's mother is on Monday, I have no problem with waiting until Tuesday.

We started a tailgating tradition for Akron soccer games. We usually get 20-30 people per game.

LOL! I know it's really really unfair to pull this back up now (necropost)... but it wasn't my idea. I looked at the currently online users and saw a guest looking at this thread. The above quoted post stands out to me as a way of demonstrating changing perspectives. Oh how much different 27-32 looks now. Not saying it's something to strive for or praise. I just think a lot of people felt there was no risk in changing. heh After Ianello, I regret ever creating this thread and calling for JD's head.

This is a good idea. However, you may want to wait till after RI's mother's funeral. UA may be waiting until after the funeral to officially let him go? what day is his mother's funeral? If she passed away Tuesday, I'd assume Saturday or Sunday? I don't know how much longer I can wait because I have this feeling that we're going to all be disappointed and stuck with another year of iCantcoach

I'm giving the University until 12:00pm sunday to fire Ianello before I change the name of the facebook group to include Tom Wistrcill's name. If Ianello isn't fired, TW better be!!!
