Who in Cleveland doesn't know anything about the Akron football program? Almost everyone does. However, all they know is that we have sucked forever and that we have never given any of them a reason to care. It is amazing the difference that Bowden has made. All I used to get were wise cracks when I wore an Akron shirt. Now I get a lot of "I see Bowden is really turning things around down there". People pay attention, we just need to give them positive things to pay attention to. I do, however, believe that this is a unique opportunity to market the Bowden name and the recent successes to raise some intrigue about where the program is heading. Sitting their butts in the seats and looking at the overall facilities will make a few people realize that this may be a local program worth supporting.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Deji also was the on ball defender against Brown from WMU during the tourney game. Deji shut him down. We took Deji off him and out of the game for most of the 2nd half and Brown went off. Season over.

I would argue that the overall talent in the league is improved over those years. Go on youtube and pull up video of those games. Most of the guys look like glorified high school players. The talent level on most of the MAC teams, especially the upper half has improved dramatically.

You do realize that it was a spring game, right? KP16 is heads and shoulders above where he was last year and will be one of the top QB's in the MAC. Bowden is very high on Pohl. I am not sure why you are so pessimistic considering he has had a great spring?

Went to practice today. It looked like quite a few guys were held out. I didnt see Mizell or Pittman for sure. Kyle Pohl looks like a completely different player. His ankle must have really been bothering him. His throwing motion is so much more fluid and the ball is really jumping out of his hand. His accuracy also looks greatly improved. The rosters were all messed up, so it was hard to tell who some of the db's were, but Kris Givens jumped right out to me making me ask who #21 was. He is by far the best corner on the team. He pretty much locked up everyone he covered. He looks big time.

I beg to differ. The only reason we won most of our games is because the defense WAS good except for a handful of games. Pathetic doesnt even describe our offense. Dambrot needs to focus 75% of his energy on fixing the shit offense I watched all year.
