I think the ineligible receiver downfield was the TE who caught the ball. The refs have never seen a down-the-field pass from Akron, so they figured it was illegal. It's comical at this point.

Why is Perez our kicker?

Our play calls are garbage. If JoeMo is still calling plays, I'm not so sure I wouldn't mind seeing the young OC take over. Not sure what JoeMo is doing.
-
Who would've thought a JoeMo coached team would struggle the most - by far - on offense? I love our defense.

Who on here was complaining about Golden returning punts/kicks? You win.

This already isn't fun.

Hate to break it to the 4 Ypsilanti Eagles fans out there - they're not good. WMU in a dog fight with Iowa midway through the second half - 7-7.

Let me give you my Venmo/PayPal next time you want to throw away money.

Great article from Terry. The University has a list of players from the last 2 decades that need their jerseys in the rafters soon. Zeke, LCJ, and Freeman. Special era of Zips basketball. Impressive team GPA as well.

Thank goodness you included the photo of the Fear the Roo flag. Otherwise, Brent Musberger's voice may be referring to something else (although the Akron flag is equally as beautiful).

"I was coaching an arts & crafts preschool football team in an awful city. JoeMo came into Akron, and I knew it wouldn't be long before I'd start losing the Wagon Wheel, too. Truth be told, I probably would've taken a job on any other staff just to get out of there, but when Coach Prime was hired, I knew there wouldn't be an opportunity better than that. Who wouldn't want to work with Coach Prime in beautiful Boulder, CO? Can you imagine my offensive scheme with the top talent he can attract? Now that I've gone over this, your question is really stupid and your need to ask it shows either lazy journalistic practices or a lack of understanding for football & sports." - Sean Lewis (probably)

Agreed. I also want to see slants and more quick hitters in motion.

That coach must really hate Stanford and Marshall. -
Our offense is full of playmakers. Playmakers need the ball to make a play, which means the QB has to get them the ball. That's the issue. It's not a lack of talent.

Barstool Gambling posted about Akron's Turnover Tire. The celebratory rubber necklace is getting A LOT of run.

Kentucky started 4-0 last year with wins over Miami (OH), Florida, YSU, and NIU. They proceeded to lose 6 of their next 9, including a loss to Vandy (oof) and a scoreless 21 pt loss to Iowa in their bowl game. They had a potential Heisman QB and a QB that fell to the 2nd round in the NFL draft. They finished 7-6 and lost their QB. They are beatable. The issue is, upsets typically require a QB to pull off. It took 2 pick sixes to beat Northwestern with Kato Nelson at the helm under Bowden. We'll need a similar defensive performance to have a shot with the mess of Undercuffler/Irons/Tahj. I wish I could be more confident.

Morning after thoughts... - How the hell did we win that game? Snatching victory from the jaws of Defeat. - One of my earlier posts requested that we simply not be one of the teams that loses to a FCS squad. We accomplished that (somehow). CMU needed a game-winning FG to beat New Hampshire. Northern Illinois lost to Southern Illinois. Buffalo lost to Fordham. Boston College needed a miracle late turnover to hold on against Holy Cross. Idaho WHOOPED Nevada. Hawaii needed a comeback win against Albany. I believe the Transfer Portal will even out the FBS talent wise for a more competitive platform, and there's no reason that wouldn't apply to the FCS as more talent is blocked from FBS rosters. - Our defense is the real deal. They'll keep us in most games this season (barring injury). It was great to see us possess the ability to create turnovers and get pressure on the QB. That's about where the positives end. - We don't have a QB at the moment. DJI doesn't have the decision making ability, and Undercuffler doesn't have the physical traits. When he came in, the decision making was 1000% better. Problem is, once the defense got used to the better decision making, they realized the only decisions being made were sideline throws. We wasted a golden opportunity against a lesser opponent to figure out our QB situation and fix our offensive woes. - If Fessler is the one calling plays, Joe needs to take that control back. The play calls aren't Milwee-level-bad, but it's not great. The WRs aren't running playmaking routes and stuff is taking too long to develop. Kentucky looks beatable. It's a shame we seemingly don't have a QB that can do it.

The Touchdown Tire was featured by Acho during halftime of the Cal/Auburn game.

UNBELIEVABLE.
