  1. Eastern Illinois Fighting Tony Romos. 5'10" DB (Safety?) with 2 years of eligibility left. Also received an offer from NMSU upon quick review.
  2. We are hitting FCS schools hard.
  3. "Scum... slime... menace to the golfing industry." - Carl Spackler Always Fear the Roo.
  4. Figured we could track the college football offseason here. First big domino just fell. Luke Fickell to Wisconsin. Cincinnati will be ripe for picking. One of their WRs, Tyler Scott, is from Norton.
  5. Tremendous analysis and write up. The improvement this year is quite obvious once you look beyond the Win & Loss columns. Our ability to compete and be in just about every game is pretty remarkable. JoeMo is as transparent and straightforward a coach I've ever seen, and I think we should've taken his words a bit more seriously about the DI talent deficit on our roster when he took over. I'll admit I thought he was trying to temper expectations before easily exceeding them. Turns out, he was just telling everyone how it was - we weren't even a DI program under Arth. The first sign of being just a few players away was the Liberty game. We should've won that game, but lacked the extra few pieces to put us over the top. Liberty finished the season 8-4, and their coach is probably going to be on his way to Auburn. Looking at the MAC portion, every single loss outside of OU and Miami was by 1 full score or less. That's it. This team has completed all year. They are fully bought into JoeMo and his staff, evident by their effort, especially yesterday in a meaningless game. We are so much closer than the average football fan realizes, and I'm stoked for next year. However, we're not finished with this year. Keep Canada from Bowling.
  6. Recruits aren't going to know or care that NIU didn't play their A squad. They're going to see a team with a 1-9 record playing their asses off for their coach in a meaningless game en route to a blowout win.
  7. JoeMo is their kryptonite 😎
  8. TOUCHDOWN AKRON! WOW! Alex Adams snagged a pass but intended for him that would've otherwise been intercepted most likely.
  9. What if I told you at the beginning of the season we'd be playing in December? 😎
  10. Their first legitimate opponent and they choke. Beautiful.
  11. 4 pt loss. Close but no cigar. Not enough guys stepped up around Tavari. Nevada hit some big time shots. 4th place at the Flint Michigan Megabowl.
  12. Tavari steps out of bounds on the final possession. Damn.
  13. 24 seconds left, 22 seconds left on the shot clock. Down by 1. Akron ball.
  14. That's what good teams do. This is a dogfight with a good squad.
  15. If I'm not mistaken, LCJ was part of his recruitment. When Groce retires from Akron someday, put me in the LCJ for his replacement camp, should he want to follow in his father's footsteps. What a weird game this is.
  16. The only thing going through my mind this game is the Flint Michigan Megabowl. Where's Jackie Moon when you need him?
  17. 24-20 Akron at the half. 2 teams that are on their 3rd game in 3 days, and it's showing. But I love the fight in this team. Let's finish this game in the second half strong and grab 3rd place!
  18. LMU hangs on by 1 in OT. Great game. Morgan State doesn't quite have the talent - yet - but they play hard. Solid lower-end mid major win for Akron. Also, my favorite non-Akron player in CBB is #34, KELI LEAUPEPE, for LMU.
  19. You like how an undersized guard from Chicago penetrates the lane? De ja vu? 😉
  20. If anyone is bored on this Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Morgan State is up on Loyola Marymount in the 2nd half. LMU is coming off of back to back wins against Georgetown and Wake Forest. This is an incredible, free stream on the West Coast Conference site. https://wccsports.com/watch/?sid=494116 Edit: #34 for LMU has a beautiful head of lettuce/mustache combination.
  21. WKU beats Tulane by 5 to finish in 5th. That was a great, GREAT win for Akron.
  22. Groce is the exact opposite of Kowalchoke when it comes to March, so come January 1st, I will not be taking the Toledo futures bet to win the MAC Tourney. Not sure AAU ball will do well in the MAC if it isn't doing well against Bradley, Oakland, IPFW, and Winthrop. In their DI games, they've given up less than 80 points in a game just once - 74 to IPFW - and have given up 88, 89, 92 (OT), and 101 in the other 4 DI losses. Heath Ball is literally the exact opposite of Murphy Ball. Fixed it for him.
