Welp, that partially explains the shooting. The intensity differences in this game are why I was pissed about Cedarville being the "warmup" game. We've had to figure out DI speed on the fly against a good team.

I have to set my alarm to remember to throw this on. Last year I'd have to stream this at the office on a 20" monitor. This year we're streaming this in the home office on the big screen. One of the perks of 2020!

Not entirely Akron-related, but I hope OSUcks realized maybe they should have honored their matchup with Akron somehow, before reaching out to Cleveland State for an impromptu regular season game that ended up being a sphincter-tightening result.

He's better than Biggs, although that was who came to mind first for me. Biggs had a better offense around him to open things up. Hixon, Getsy, etc. He is. He looks like Chunt - Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb. Shifty like Chubb, shoots through the holes, etc. Physical like both. He could easily be a mid round pick when he comes out.

We have a scrimmage on the 12th. "Hi, Cedarville? We have an opportunity to play Ohio State, so we're gonna have to cancel our scrimmage."

Just reported on 92.3 The Fan that, fresh off a butt whooping from OU, Cleveland State has added a game against OSUcks on Dec. 13th. How aren't we adding games like this - especially when we originally had a game with OSUcks?

Because Boals was an assistant at Akron under Dambrot, is an OU alum (so he might stay even if he has success), and is a really good person from all accounts. Hard to hate him, and he is the best coach OU has had since Groce. Gonna be a fun rivalry for years to come.

It depends on how this season goes, but if his final two college are ruined BY COVID, he strikes me as the kind of person that might stick around for a 6th year to finish what he started. Hasn't he talked about wanting to go into coaching, too? A 6th year of college ball, especially learning from Groce & Co. could be beneficial.

My complaint originates before the shutdown. They didn't have a schedule set besides the Florida tourney. There were rumors, but nothing official. It would be one thing if they would've had the Florida tourney (average at best mid major tourney) and let's say 2-3 games scheduled that were cancelled, but they didn't even have that. To boot, we're risking injuries in a weird year, against Cedarville as one of our 2 non-conference games. Weak.

It's official. Cedarville on the 12th, St. Bonnie on the 15th, then MAC play starting with PCCC on the 19th. Pathetic. Legitimately pissed at how unprepared the program was for this schedule wise, when other MAC schools have their crap together and are playing teams like Michigan and Illinois on national TV.

OU is good, and that was a fun game to watch. Preston is the real deal - one of the best players the MAC has seen in a while. Boals is going to have OU competing at the top until (if) he gets picked off by a bigger program.

I'm watching BUGS take on Michigan on ESPN2. COVID aside, it's a little embarrassing how unprepared Akron seems to be vs. other programs. Even before the 2 week pause, there was hardly a semblance of a schedule prior to MAC play.

So what kind of media agreements is the MAC looking at securing to make sure their fans are able to still watch "MACtion"? Oh wait, that would require actual leadership which the conference lacks.

Might be a blessing in disguise. I can't imagine the travel budget for a mid-major tourney in Florida was the most appropriate application of funds. Marshall and St. Bonnie are just as good if not better. The lack of a complete schedule right now is incredibly frustrating, though. Are there no P5s that want a piece of the Zips? LCJ too scary for them?

For what it's worth, Bleacher Report has Akron playing MTSU on Wednesday at 2pm.
