  1. If you can count Mississippily before a result occurs from a reaction, it is no longer a natural reaction but an intended one.
  2. If you have the chance to pick your bowl, you pick the bowl that gives you the most exposure and the biggest payout. That was the Boca Raton Bowl. It's on the coaching staff to get the team ready to play, which we were not. Nobody can defend Bowden, yet suggest we should have avoided FAU because they are "dangerous". This is FAU, a team that was a perennial ESPN #1 Bottom Ten team, at worst sharing the spot with FIU with the "I" and "A" rotating in and out in the logo GIF. Yes, they got Kiffin, but they were 3-9 last year. They finished this year 11-3. After 5 years of Bowden, we should not be getting embarrassed, especially by the likes of FAU. No more excuses.
  3. I will take my comments back about Kiffin going for 2 (not my comments about Kiffin; he's still an a$$) if this is true. I agree with NWAkron that Van Horne being shown the door wouldn't be much of a loss. I haven't heard many positives surrounding him.
  4. I'm not exactly giving the defense a pass (the deep pass play before the end of the half was embarrassing; that ball sat up for what seemed like days and we still couldn't recover to deflect it away), but we had the chance to go up early on in the game and put them on their heels, and our offense laid egg after egg. Hard to consistently stop an offense that puts up 40+ ppg, especially when your offense doesn't capitalize on chances and eventually starts stalling out. Our defense came to play early on and I believe got worn out; our offense didn't show up at all. Our defense won the games against Can't, WMU, etc. They came to play early on against Toledo and FAU, too. The 2 minute drill defense is the only gripe I have, as that cost us 7 points at the end of the half last night, and the Troy game.
  5. Playing this game on their home turf was the least of our problems, and it doesn't excuse the lack of preparation and execution on offense.
  6. We didn't stop you. You scored. The 2 pt. conversion was incredibly unnecessary. I don't know if you did play anyone better than our West Division MAC opponents (mainly Toledo). I don't agree with the arguments that said our schedule made us better, because this is twice in a row we haven't shown up on National TV. And I've avoided the trash talk. I just didn't appreciate your comment is all.
  7. Nice comment. Did you learn that class from your coach? Good season for you guys. Congrats on the win.
  8. He crossed the line by going for 2, already up 31. If my HC choices for the next 10 years came down to Bowden and Kiffin, I'd take Bowden, even with Milwee as his OC.
  9. Wait what? Did I miss something? I didn't realize we showed up for our games in Detroit & Boca.
  10. Senderoff owes Dambrot a thank you for potentially saving his job after Akron laid an egg in last year's MAC Championship Game. Bowden owes Solich a thank you if he's brought back/extended. No way would I extend Bowden based on this year, and I'd consider relieving him of his duties, especially if he refuses to make any changes to his coaching staff.
  11. Supposedly FAU really wanted him out of high school. They can have him. And LaVar.
  12. Up 34-3, Lane goes for 2. Classy.
  13. Let's play soccer! Clap clap clapclapclap!
  14. After further review, we'll have to wait until the next possession to see if they can stop him twice.
  15. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Kiffin! We do have a high class band, in all seriousness.
  16. With 34 seconds left in the first half and 2 timeouts, we run a delayed handoff, waste 20 more seconds, run another handoff, get to the 50 yd line, and refuse to take a timeout. Unbelievable.
  17. Maybe he should quit talking so much and focus more on lining up correctly.
  18. Milwee is so bad.
  19. What a dirty, dirty hit. See ya, #14. THAT WASN'T TARGETING? Looks like some of Kiffin's extension went into the pockets of the refs.
  20. Or you get a guy that has pi$$ed people off everywhere he's been, and needs to rebuild his reputation.
  21. So beautiful.
  22. They are roadblocks when it comes to getting out of the MAC, but not when it comes to winning individual/big games.
  23. Wow. I wonder if Indiana is happy with their decision of relieving Tom Crean of his duties. I know it takes time to install a system and rebuild a program, but one would think the foundation at Indiana would be at least higher than IPFW. That's 2 blow-out losses to in-state schools this year for Indiana, with neither of the in-state schools they've lost to named Notre Dame or Purdue.
  24. Wait, what? So having political thoughts is part of the problem? I don't identify with a political party either, but I have political thoughts based around certain ideals. That's not the problem in the least. 1) I don't even know where to begin. 2/3) There's a difference between putting people in positions to succeed based on their personal experience in that field, and putting lobbyists in positions as favors. I don't know how I feel about DeVos, but her idea of privatizing our educational systems shouldn't be automatically dismissed. Actually, several of Trump's cabinet picks have the goal of privatizing at least certain parts of their departments. Government is too big. Privatizing certain areas would kill two birds by shrinking government (therefore cutting spending, stretching our tax dollars the extra mile and even allowing more tax cuts), and drain the swamp. There is nothing wrong with people getting rich in a free market, capitalist society. There is something wrong with people getting rich on my/our tax dollars (Obama, Bernie Sanders, Clintons, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, John McCain to name a few). Look deeper into Trump and his actions, by the way. They are far from the swamp. He has been donating the presidential salary. Melania cut the number of her assistants from Michelle's 24 (totaling $1.24M in annual salaries) to 4 (less than $500k in annual salaries), saving the tax payers hundreds of thousands already. The number of people working for Trump is down 110 people from Obama's staff, saving taxpayers $5.1M per year. He took care of ISIS. He's been deregulating the economy and EPA, which promotes job growth and takes the foot off our farmers' throats, but maintaining an emphasis on taking care of our planet. Look at what our economy is doing (BOOMING); economies don't boom like this under the swamp's socialist leadership and policies. Instead of funding other countries, he's taking that money and putting it into our infrastructure, military, and other areas of need that have been neglected. Draining the swamp isn't about preventing already wealthy people from getting wealthier with their own business. Draining the swamp is about preventing the overgrowth of government and foreign influence in our government; it's about preventing our capitalist republic from being destroyed, and preventing our government from taking advantage of the people for their own gain. Have you heard about Uranium One? How about Operation Fast and Furious? Did you see the Politico article about Obama preventing the DEA from doing its job (they were targeting drug trafficking by the Iran-sponsored terrorist group Hezbollah) in order for the Iran Nuclear Deal to go through? THAT'S the swamp. THAT'S what needs drained. The fears that have been mentioned, they're repetitive talking points from a playbook co-written by Saul Alinsky and Karl Marx. They pray on the public's bleeding hearts and fears. If you don't agree with them, they then label you as racists, sexists, homophobes, misogynist, etc. Do you know how many times I've been called those things, or an extremist? HUGE amounts; like Trump's exaggerations amounts (see, I can have fun ). Are they true? Heck no. My beliefs stem from our Founding Fathers, the Constitution, and the Golden Rule - do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Does that sound so extreme, racist (no, I don't share the belief in slavery that of the Founding Fathers had), sexists, homophobic, misogynistic, etc.? No? Then be careful with the personal attacks. As I previously stated, politics is a very important topic to discuss, and I don't believe it's something that shouldn't be publicly discussed. However, when it is discussed, it needs to be done in a civil manner. We have gotten so far off the topic of Net Neutrality, so I will most likely end my involvement with this thread with this post. Good talk, gentlemen. As always, Go Zips and .
