  1. ZipsNation gives history lessons. PCCC is still trying to figure out how to tweet out the final score of the MAC Championship Game after one of their players didn't even know the score during the game. And people wonder who the superior school/fan base is...
  2. Still 4 more points than PCCC's 1st half total in 2008 vs UNLV.
  3. No Nick Harney or Zeke Marshall? What the hell? Garvin Clarke was in the Center poll... LCJ, Dru, and X2.0 - in that order for me.
  4. The committee watching this Virginia game, knowing the entire country minus Charlottesville was saying UVA had no business being in this tournament... America...

  6. 2013 #1 Akron jersey is my go to for this game. We need an updated one.
  7. We're back for another rendition of the ZipsNation Bracket Challenge - this time featuring the Zips instead of PCCC! This is completely free and simply a fun competition among us Zips fans. An email has been sent out to those who participated last year, or you can CLICK HERE to join. LET'S GO ZIPS!
  8. Another interested graphic.
  9. Fascinating graphic. Defense is going to be huge for Akron and we have to avoid the scoring drought.
  10. Who is going to tell a 6.5 year old kid no? Book it.
  11. Not sure where we're putting Portal interest yet but...
  12. At least 75% of his finishes (or lack thereof) at the rim are contested, and the defender almost always has better positioning. He either forces it when he should pull the ball back out or he doesn't do enough to get the defender off balance.
  13. I'm curious to see the Freeman and Kalkbrenner matchup. Ryan moves pretty well for a big man and can shoot the 3, but he's also a little slow and clanky in his movements. Freeman's quickness might be a problem for him and if we can get Ryan in foul trouble, even better.
  14. 2020 was our year. That team had it all. Last year would've been our next best shot, agreed. Even if Dawson gets hurt, if we had Ali Ali, and IF Ali Ali matured offensively to not kill the offense as much, that would've been a special team. That's why I was pointing out the difference in interpretation of "team". Our depth this year is way better and more suited for games against upper echelon competition. But we don't have that killer PG that can light it up from anywhere on the court. It's going to need to be a team effort if we pull off the upset. So true. This team hasn't played to its full potential since adding Ali Ali back into the mix. This would be a really good time to reach their full potential.
  15. If you count having a top scoring PG as having a better team, this might be correct. However, the 2024 Zips are overall a better team top to bottom. Freeman, Ali Ali, and Tribble are all significantly better than their 2022 versions. Dawson has regressed but we have Nate Johnson, Hunter, and several more capable guards. The 2022 team lost to UCLA by 4 in the first round. They played 8 guys... Freeman Dawson Ali Tribble X2.0 Aziz Wynn Clarke This team, as a whole, is better than that team. That team, though, had X2.0 - AKA The X Factor on an otherwise very average team (if we're being honest).
  16. Nope. #JustAKidFromAkron must have forgotten about his hometown school. Or maybe repping Akron is a stain on his brand this time around.

  18. I wonder what texts our coaches have received.
  19. Transferring 3 or 4 days prior to your team playing in the first round of the NCAAT is certainly something.
