That 3 by Freeman is the most "I'm the man" shot he has taken in a long time.

The genius in the gameplan by Miami is they're sending weak-side help to double Freeman, instead of the defender on the wing. This takes away the easy outlet for Freeman, and forces the open man to be on the opposite side of the court - over the double team. Really well done by Steele and props to the players for executing. Akron is in the bonus the rest of the game. 11 minutes to go. 8 pt game.

Good article. Camryn Justice is an Akron grad I believe and has been getting some big run as a Cleveland sports journalist recently. The more eyes on Freeman and the Akron program, the better. Getting to be a bit embarrassing though the lack of self marketing by the University itself.

The scoreboard is the biggest eyesore and detractor from the Info. Replacing that will go a long way with GameDay experience for the 10 people that show up.

Akron remained stagnant in NET at 85. OU moved up 2 spots to 192 despite the loss. Toledo is up to 134 and PCCC is up to 170. BUGS dropped to 198, and those are the only 5 teams in the top 200 for the MAC. Miami is the next highest MAC team at 246. Buffalo is creeping closer to the true bottom, ranking 346 out of 362 teams.

Miami is 246 in NET, dropping from 227 after their loss to CMU. One game at a time, just take care of business boys.

The inverse of this is James Madison. Their applications and/or enrollment are up ~78% or something like that in the last few years (read this on their board). Their meteoric rise in athletics is driving the overall school enrollment. Their football team has won, and now their basketball team is having success. They've made the full move to DI, but built their brand at the FCS level (Game day went there when they were a FCS squad). I don't know how they were successful in breaking out of the shadows of Virginia, Virginia Tech, etc. - but they were. They are a case study that Akron needs to examine closely.
