when you go on the road. play against top 50-75 teams. you chances of winning are not good. there is not one team in the mac that could beat both mtsu, and st. Mary's on the road. with the mac school playing them back to back. once we get back home, and win a few. things we will be fine.

I think as long as everyone stays healthy. I would not be surprised to see three of the freshman redshirt. tree can play the 5 spot for limited minutes, and jake can play the four. hopefully big dog can give us 5-10min at the 5 also. Harney at 6-8 s.f. is bigger than most mac schools power forwards, or some centers. gladden is our highest ranked player coming out of high school.everything I read about him said he is a three, or undersized four. never read anywhere that he is a two guard. im sure for 5 min a game d.j. can do the job. he is still a good fit for our team when we press, and fast break on offense. you also have reggie coming off the bench to spell diggs. I don't know to many mac teams who could afford to redshirt 3 out of 4 kids.the other factor is how many guys k.d. wants to play. i like the fact that last year we played 9-10 guys, and wore down some of the other teams in the second half.

I have Massillon cable tv; so the game does not appear on the Massillon cable.. my parents get time warner. does anybody know what channel the game is on time warner?

somebody can correct me if I am wrong. i thought the basketball team always made money .the football team loses money. that's why they have to go on the road. all the mac fb teams go on the road for money games.i don't know where the term the fb team is propping up the basketball team comes from.if the b-ball team makes money what does that have to do with football?

big zip. he scored 27 in the semi final of the jucco championship game. that's only one game ,but Carmelo has not shown that kind of ability to score. we need both of them next year. we can win the mac with only melo at the pg. if this team wants to get back to the ncaa, and win. we need one of them to give us at least 10-15 quality min a game coming off the bench.this is the one area that concerns me next year. losing zeke will hurt, but we still the best front line in the mac. treadwell, harney, pat, jake are still better than any other mac teams. add that with Johnson, and the kid from charlotte. the kid from charlotte is ranked three stars, and our highest ranked player coming in this year. that give us six guys we can play on the frontline.

in one game anything can happen. last year they beat us in overtime. take 4 out of their ten guys off their team. play us with everyone, and see what would happen. our talent level is good enough to win an ncaa game.if Michigan is so superior to vcu/akron how did they lose to penn state.the same penn state we beat by 25. the akron team in the ncaa tourney was not even close to the one in the regular season. injuries, and suspensions finally took it's toal. the good thing for us the mac is horrible. I don't see anyone beating us next year. we just need to stay healthy, and keep guys from getting in trouble. their is no reason we can't get back to the ncaa tourney.

we are now starting to get kids that have offers from a-10,acc,and big east schools.do we get every kid we want.no. the fact is we are now starting to get kids that have offers from power conferences though.

GP if Michigan would beat us by 71.explain how they lost to penn state. the same team we beat by almost 30.you can't because you have no facts to back it up. if vcu has so much better athletes how did lose to them by one last year in OT.people overreact to one game, and have no facts to back it up.

kd is bringing in much better players now compared to even two years ago. except for zeke. johnson made first team all ohio. gladden turned down offers from Xavier, and wake forest to play at akron.I seriuously doubt if kd would have brought in a jc point guard; if he did not think he could play right away. we are the only b-ball school that has a coach that gives us a stable program.other mac coaches either get fired for losing,or leave if they have one good season.

you have to post before akronzips71, and big zip. if you read their posts. you would have thought we would have lost 20 out of 21.

your right. top teams like Michigan never lose to bad teams like penn state. good teams like ou (which we beat twice) never lose to teams like buffalo. do you ever have anything good to say about akron basketball ?

the biggest difference between alex,and melo is alex can shoot the 3pt shot.evans will be here next year.i think that should be a good battle for pt at the point.

zippy i thougnt the same thing.all the people on the mac discussion board said we are making excuses.if it was ohio state,or michigan state they would let them slide because they had two starters out.since it's akron i doubt if it will even be mentioned.at the same time we are getting more attention now with the win streak.espn had the zeke dunk,and jay talked about us.we just have to keep winning,and hopefully crack the top 25

there was nothing wrong with our schedule this year.if we don't get an at large bid it's because somebody screwed tree and harney for two games.with both of those guys in the lineup we beat c.c. easliy,and probably osu also. that puts us with only two losses,and there is no way the comittee keeps us out.

one would think if he is only 17. there is a good chance he might grow another inch or two.it would be nice to have him come in at 6-10,6-11.i don't know about the kid from charlotte ,but they have him at three stars.we really miss Q ability to drive to the basket.does anybody know what type of player he is.

i know akron does not look very good at times. if you would have told me that diggs would be gone,and gilliam is out for most of the mac season.no way this team should have won 16 in a row.we lost a starter,and our first guy off the bench.take two of ohio -top six players out of the lineup. how good do you think they would be?not very good.yet we still beat them.kd does not get alott of credit for getting some of the young guys ready to play.people need to realize we have four freshman that see alott of pt.

i watched Can't a couple times in tv.there guys play hard,and they like run in transition for easy baskets. zips need to come right from the start ready to play.if not we will be in trouble.i think we have more talent than Can't,but those guys play pretty hard b-ball.

after watching the princeton game. i have to agree with big zip,and his band of mr.negative followers.kd does not care about winning occ games.you could just tell the way the guys were playing. they did not care if they won or lost.after all it was just a stupid occ game.lucky for us we only have 1 occ game left.after we lose that one we will start the the mac season.then i think we will see the team start playing hard. kd will start to actually care to coach.we still have the problem of alex just dribbling around,and can't finish games.kd still does not know how to draw up plays with one second left with marshall.untill we get those things fixed we will never be any good.i really think we need to bring back coleman crawford. at least he cared about occ games,and so did the players.

from what i aread of johnson they played huntingon prep with was #3 team in the nation.they also have the #1 ranked player in the nation.the coach said the top25 teams missed out out on johnson,and more than held his own against the #3 ranked team in the country.

i played b-ball with his dad.they are good people,and his dad was a great high school player.

we play teams at home and beat the crap out of them. a few fans say that those teams are not any good. yet the same ones will complain when we go on the road against very good teams,and lose. they make statements like kd does not care about the occ games. yet we just beat the crap out of the last three occ teams we played.how do you think teams like osu in football build up great programs.they do it because they play 8 home games every year,and beat the crap out of bad occ teams.the point is no matter what kd does your going to have some fans complain about anything he does.im sure if we lose on sunday they will be on the board complaning in full force.

bowden took over the worst team in d-1.while we did not win any more games at least we were competitve in most of them.when he took over we only had three weeks left to sign players.if in five years we are still at the bottom of d-1 then maybe we should drop down.i already saw a big improvment from coach I.the mills kid from mckinley said the only reason he went to akron was because of bowden.im pretty sure that was the same case with most of the kids he signed.

i tought our rb & wr spots are good enough to win in the mac.does anybody know about the o-line for next year. the kid from mckinley- mills was a good high school player.i would think he would have a chance to start next year. do we have anybody else coming in next year. that could play right away on the o-line.

TB only had three weeks to get his first class together.we need help on the defense everywhere. we really need more size,and depth on the dl though.

cmu plays alott tougher schedule in the west.if they play the ou schedule there not 3-5.they also beat iowa on the road. you can say that cmu,or iowa have bad teams.the reality is they have alott more talent than we do.espn said we were the worst d-1 team last year.what did people expect.with the record we have had over the last five years it's a miracle that bowden can get anyone to come here.Can't will never be able to keep a coach.i would not be surprised if he's gone before Can't even goes to a bowl.
