Everything I have learned in my life about the German people/culture and WWII comes from watching Hogan's Heroes. I know for a fact the Geneva Convention was in effect prior to 1949.That's the problem that people like PB1719 have when they mess with time travel. He went back in time and messed with the timeline so much that the Geneva Convention didn't occur until 1949.Of course, Hogan's Heros just so happens to be the single most pervasive dimensional event in the Universe, so it resists the effects of temporal divergence. This may be causing rifts and tremors in space-time whenever the incongruity of reality comes into conflict, which explains many of the problems we have been having. In fact, I might suggest that the quake and tsunami in the S.Pacific recently was a direct result (pre-shock) of this very thread.

I disagree that the season is lost. Obviously, if we started winning a lot of games, the season would be more than salvaged.However, based on how they have performed on the field so far, it is difficult to imagine how things could turn out that drastically. But who knows? I don't stop being a fan when things get rough. I'm here to see how things develop.The point is, season is technically not lost. Even if it were, what would be the point of burning the red shirt? There are a lot of problems that can't be blamed on the QB. If you think the season is really a waste, let's see what Matt Rogers can do. Let's give him a chance.

We could solve two different debates on this board if we could have swapped QBs between teams yesterday.GP1, it's sorta funny, but don't ride it. It would have made it's point much more effectively if it had the brass to post BEFORE the game. Cap'n, you have to acknowledge a good player.

Personally, I'll reserve my comments about any quarterback who plays for us when the playcalling spreads the ball around instead of what I have seen in the first 4 games that allows defenses to focus on the box because the ball is almost always up there and even when it's not a draw, a keeper, a dump or a screen, it almost never exposes them by going over their heads.CMU used draws and keepers very well against our defense as we had to respect the zones outside the box.

psh...Personally, I think that parading athletes (and coaches and staff) in front of microphones and cameras is like taking the wizard of oz (if you are lucky enough to have such wizards) and putting makeup and colored hair on him so he can scare children on the periphery at the circus.A wizards place is behind the curtains. Hey guys, I just wanted to say something.As I said before, I always found the debbie-downers annoying. They usually weren't trying to contribute. They were often just grinding an axe.That's not me. I just wanted to say how I felt in this thread. My biggest disappointment is how the play-calling resembles that of previous season-campaigns even though we are supposed to have new people on that job.I don't have an axe to grind.But since the thread was here, I thought that the fact that I have been a "give JD more time" guy, and particularly against mid-season hatchet jobs, would give me a bit more credibility in my disappointment than the guys who grind their axes against this regime year in and year out.At some point, the pattern isn't a fluke.At some point... you have to take a step back and stop rationalizing with excuses about misfortunes, missed opportunities, the way the ball bounces, and it's just not our year.I don't plan to make a big thing out of this, but I know from being on the other side of the fence on this issue in the past that my new opinion is going to rub some people the wrong way. I'm not trying to do that.I'm just questioning things a lot harder now.Being a spectator is our religated place as fans and means we have no say in these matters... I can't be an apologist when the pattern continues. More than anything else, including the need to forgive the unforeseen circumstances (which always seem to crop up in one form or another), I have a problem with play calling. Expecting defense to bite on draw fakes or the potential QB keeper DOES NOT spread the ball around the field and strike fear into the defenses we face about where and who to cover. This stuff is getting old.

I've defended keeping J.D.Brookhart for the last several years, and more-so, I very fervently argued against mid-season firings.But I have to finally agree now. I feel it's on the line. Our conference games NEED to yield serious success THIS YEAR.

Who was it, when I brought up the draws and keepers that we ran last year and all the screens and line-of-scrimmage plays the year before, who mentioned that we got a new offensive play-caller this year?I couldn't tell the difference.

If the university doesn't try to tackle it themselves, the least we can do is try to keep our Wiki page up to date. I know not a lot of people use it, but I know when I was looking at colleges, I would look at their Wiki to get more info on the University. Akron's is weak, to say the least. Can't State's wiki has a ton more info available... we need to catch up!Sometimes I add stuff, but it always seems to get deleted.
