  1. Gentlemen, do not talk about Georgetowns gym like that. It might hurt their feelings. see, now that explains the banners.
  2. yeah, but I'll bet it doesn't have nifty blue chains.don't feed the bears
  3. Not really necessary. All we need to do is hire out the jobs to OSU grads. Isn't that the cow and crop skool?
  4. Lately it seems, half the Nation!I think you are right ZW.It might even be more than that. We have a beautiful stadium, with lights that won't even be noticeable during the day. And at night because of the dark blue paint you won't even see the poles. The experience will be vastly superior going to the Rubber Bowl in every way but people have to find the negative in everything.I have noticed the 'grassy knoll' and 'light poll' threads and wondered to myself if they come off with a lack of gratitude for the changes or lack of perspective for where we were not to long ago, but I really don't think anyone intended to come across that way.I'm sure everyone, right down the line, will come forward and tell you how we don't take all this for granted. You just gotta remember that it's a slow period in the summer and people chatter harmlessly.
  5. ooohh  I really like this shot, g-mann.Do you have it in a higher resolution?I think they could almost use that as a postcard. The split composition showing the architecture and green spaces... and for some reason I like that stirring sky
  6. Some of the sightings above being from the south reminds me of when I noticed some kid wearing a 'Fear the Roo' t-shirt in some photos I saw about a North Carolina coffee shop opening... and it was probably several months after the NC State game.I think that game captured some people's interest and curiosity.
  7. I'm not exactly certain, I just don't like small players at the D-1A level. Normally a scouting report makes a player slightly faster and taller than he may actually be. I'd rather have a kid show as 6' 5" and show up as 6' 4" than 6' 1" and show up at 6' even or worse yet 5' 11".Size matters. Just ask your wife/girlfriend.That's the second time you recommended that, so I went ahead and asked your wife/girlfriend and she said that tall QBs are overrated and the only size that counts is girth. She's just trying to make you feel better......It worked. I felt gooood! just messin' w/ya.
  8. Everyone I'd like you to meet kenana the knitted lion.
  9. Oh damn, it's all green! I wants to go sit theres!

  15. Do you think the Info will rate getting one of those cool Danbury Mint miniature stadium replicas? The University of Virginia one depicts the grassy hill that was mentioned (scroll to near bottom of list; list is alphabetical).wow, thanx for that! The link you provided set the record for writting the most cookies on my computer by a single web page. 67
  16. Flutie says "excuse me?"
  17. sandstone? really?Did they have to cut sandstone when they excavated the lower bowl?Yeah the construction manager said the one thing they did not anticipate was the amount of sandstone they would have to deal with. In fact if you look at some of the early shots of the excavation you can see the exposed sandstone.Historically the area was known as a clay bed (they used to make sewer pipes up the road at what is now Mason Elementary). So they had no geological information that suggested they would hit hard rock.very good.I guess I stand corrected.I had assumed that they did not encounter sandstone in the bowl and thus continuing the excavation for a hallway toward the practice field facility would not have been a major additional feat.Apparently, they expected clay and not so much bedrock, but knew ahead of time there would be bedrock near the practice facility scratched that idea. That's okay.I have revealed secret plans to quickly get the players and staff across from the practice facility into one of the very well constructed stairwell stuctures in the north endzone building.

  19. Am I the only one who doesn't have a big problem with this blog article?I actually didn't find it very interesting and I skimmed through large portions, but I sortof agree with the commenters who would rather see articles like this that diverge from the constant trumpeting of worn out topics.
  20. *claims first post on 100th page*
  21. DurI love that line of reasoning.Hello, McFly, if you do something wrong, while there are some people who will go after you for the principle of it, you can be sure people in some other political party will go after you with some extra enthusiasm. I don't think which parties they are even matter. The point is, don't break the law and don't take advantage of people.Or does he believe that if he had no politics at all he would be immune?
  22. Luckily for Zips fans...you tend to be wrong quite a bit.Any idea what factors resulted in him picking the Zips? It must be the roo brew........ because we sure need something to compensate for the fact that no one likes untested new facilites.
  23. If this one turns out anywhere near as well as the first, I'm all for that policy. Maybe we should start going after receivers named Catch. After last year I think I'd like to find a few DE's named "Sack" and some NT's named "Stuff the Run"no@this.threadproblem with this theory is that you have to complete the names.Hoobler to me sounds too much like hobbler. Who can't evade the chase of a hobbler? When a chase results in a black burn, it's not going to be a good thing for the pursued. doh!If you're going to find a DE named, sack, a last name of Rome implies a rather harty barbarian. However, if Sack is his last name, well, you can imagine the unfortunate possibilities.
  24. I haven't heard one way or another if they will sod or seed. One thing I do know is that you don't seed in August without one heck of a watering system in NEO. You can begin to seed in September and grass will grow into November in NEO.They could have seeded it over 2 months ago!I have planted grass in late spring before.Hell, even if it's not lush, it would have been thick enough to take a couple of saturdays worth of wear in the fall. There is no reason not to have tried to plant grass on there in April when it was graded. Even if it wasn't thick enough to seat people, at least it would have been nice and green for games instead of dirt city. What would that have been? $500 worth of seed? Oh noez were over budget nowz!epic failNew grass takes more than a few months to mature before it's ready for hundreds of Rowdies jumping around on it and it's better to seed in the fall. Not an epic fail. Let's give them some credit for getting the stadium built in a year and a half, on time and on budget. The Rowdies will make their presence felt just fine in the student section this fall.Okay, I'm not landscape scientist, but it only takes grass a week to 10 days to sprout. It takes a month or two to fill in, and maybe three months before it's spreading rhizomes. I think this could have been done. And as I said, even if the grass wasn't established enough for traffic, at the very least you could have had the area looking good by fall.
