If they are smart, they will do what Indiana University did=You can "purchase" one of those chairback seats (similar to what folks bring in) and it will be affixed to your seat for the season. Not sure how this would work for HS games being played there, but it could be another revenue source. I'm sure if they bought a large amount, they could get them for $15 per. Charge fans $30 for the season ($5 per game) and boom...$15 made on every one purchased!!!That must be what they did at UCF... we went to a game there and there were several of those in spots with no people anywhere near them. They were just clamped on to the seat. We thought about using them, but ended up moving over by the band at halftime. I guess that would only work in the reserved sections. They should do what they do at Nebraska. Rent out chair backs by the game. You rent them on the way in. Let them sit when you leave. No need to bolt them to a bench. They pick them up and rent them again next game. Spectators weight keeps them in place. No "bolting" at IU. Just latches. But that way works fine too.I'm sorry folks, but no series of posts has made me shake my head more than this.We spend 60 million on a stadium, and we are working out petty schemes to rent chairbacks?CHAIR BACKS???For another $30 maybe you can rent someone to clean the hardened soda syrup with popcorn and peanut shells stuck in it where you feet would rest

okay guys, I consider myself pretty geeky, but I don't get why you would stream music (lower quality due to compression and possibility for buffering latency if you get network problems) when you could just load a library of MP3s on some thumb drives, DVDRs, or even just plug your iPod into an input jack...

I dunno about the wireless on campus now, but they were talking about being one of the only wireless campuses in the country 10 years ago. Some affiliation with Intel.Probably set us back due to now having older wireless technology

Yeah.Jacobs Field + Winning demonstrated how a new facility with success can really generate attendance (and build a tradition). The Browns are an example of what having an established tradition can do for you during extended lean years. I don't know this but I'm willing to bet that their attendance to winning ratio is among the top in the NFL.So the conundrum is trying to do what the Indians did and catch lightning in a both with a convergence of beneficial circumstances.... and then keep that rolling into something beyond a passing phenomenon that establishes loyalty and tradition.... a cultural mainstay

If the BCS shuns Utah, it would have to be done very covertly.Utah's Attorney General may lose the anti-trust case, but the last thing that the BCS wants is a full conspiracy, collusion, racketeering case if there is visible evidence of an effort to hurt Utah.

That does look good. You make a great case.I still think it should be 24 teams with 8 getting a bye. But the 16 scenario that you showed actually looks better than I imagined it would.

NCAA expanding number of teams in tournament

You are 4 hours early to release this information -
The three current cameras are mounted and wired in through the Stile facility. To show the front of the tower you'd have to mount it at Shrank or the student center and network it over the campus. Probably too much of a headache

...and I can say, as sad as this seems, in those not-so-common times when I actually see a movie in the theater these days, I try to choose a newer Regal Cinema over the other older places because the Regals have comfortable seats, with a tad more space, and what they call "stadium seating" where the slope means you aren't starting at the back of someone's 80s hair do.Makes a difference to me, and I'm sure it does for other people.

Yeah, I don't think it's a big deal. The story was about LeBron. Yeah, Dru Joyce got a mention and KD didn't but LeBron hooks up KD sometimes and a lot of other people did not get mentioned. What do you want? The story was about LeBron. I liked it.

do you have any idea how many properties you are talking about?I agreed that the trying to aquire the chapel is not the way to expand. CentralHower would be the way to go but there might be some serious politics involved in that. But the sheer number of individual properties going south to 77 is ridiculous. Okay, let's say for arguments sake that you don't want all that land tucked in next to SR.8 south to I.77 all the way over to the ledges. Let's just say that you want to take enough to put an arena in. The question is why? Downtown and in lieu of the JAR both make more sense. Hell, even talking the chapel out of their plot is cheaper and more strategic. All those 110yo houses south of campus may be bordering on blight, but you would need a team of eminent domain lawyers and used car salesmen on the street (soliciting undercover to buy properties) and a couple of decades to get that done.

trial by fire baby.it's hard not to resent the process when you are going through it, but nothing makes a winner better than truely testing your meddle down to the core.Good post GP1. I agree 100.000001%There is the outside chance he could wither under pressure, but in order for him to become his ultimate destiny, he cannot be coddled. Patience is not about waiting... and patience is not about the lack of wanting. Patience is about the knowing without the fearing.

gotta get the big tamale for that... otherwise it's regional at best, and fleeting.Hell, even national exposure is fickle.

an underground cultural phenomenon can be created by very few people.I think I could do it.I've done it before. You touched on it a little bit, but it would be something more like, making a slightly quickfire fad about what is a zip, or a somewhat odd internet game involving the roo.I haven't even tried because I know what happens when something catches fire. Actually, several things happen. One of them is that everyone remotely connected tries to latch on, or claims it was their idea. The other is that the body which is referenced starts claiming intellectual property rights, and thinks that someone is making lots of money out of the craze to they gets an injunction to stop it even though it's publicity beyond their wildest dreams. It's not worth the hassle.

OK, I see a naming contest coming on. OK here's one:Polymer PorterIt's a good one, but Ohio Brewing already has Polymer Pilsner.I'm going to grab some RooBrew as soon as I can. You can't have enough local brew!lol, I guess the names have a ring to them, but polymer pilsner (or porter) doesn't sound appealing to me. LOL, my overactive imagination visuallizes long synthetic peptide chains in the beer... if you drink it you become elasto-man!

I think the soccer program should be rewarded for its success.... If the basketball program continues it's ascent, then the crowds will increase and it will become apparent that something has to be done about the JAR.

Stadium Mock-up from Osborne Design

Sorry, it wasn't Columbus State. It was The Columbus State University. Sorry, I have nothing else to contribute to this thread other than my loud laughter at that and that the Creighton stadium sweet and I wants -
Don't forget, memorial hall is slated to go.So, the JARs footprint has room to expand westwardI know most people wouldn't want to see it, but if they could build a good arena and attach a parking garage to it where the JAR and memorial are, then you could get parking for arena events, for students during the week, and extra parking for the info. The garage could enter/egress at carroll and buchtel, and only one or two of those greek houses would be displaced

I have a bad habit of skim-reading, but I didn't see in the article why they called it "litigation lager".I was half expecting the article to say that some sorta law-suit held them up.I will definitely pick some up if I see it at the store or try a few at the bar if they have them, but I prefer heaver, darker roasted beers like a porter or guinness. The roo brews look light

Same here... I might have been in there right about now and further.Sadly, we didn't lose the bid because of price or product, but mostly because large institutions like Universities tend to stick with what they have had, regardless of what's out there.I highly doubt that they are behind in some critical way. As I said before, you can host a football game even if you don't have the finishing touches on furnishings or tweaks on equipment. If the core power services, communications and infrastructure is in place, and you have a finished field and seats to be sat in, you got a football game.

Exactly what I have been saying. If you get impatient about bulking and try to do too much, you can actually be a detriment to your physical development. Sluggishness, injuries, joint problems.Don't get me wrong, I think he should be trying for a calorie surplus all year long, just not too much. ... and in the off season, heavier weight training. Hey Zeke....Go do some heavy squats and after your sets, go out and from a crouch try to jump as high as you can 10 or 20 times. It's killer on the legs but you get strength, speed, and a few more inches on your vertical

You gotta tell me how a game against Delaware State is more exciting than one against Morgan State.Any state university that's actually a state! Oh yeah, I thought Delaware was the river where general washington lost his frozen dentures
