  1. I'm watching it on foxsportsgood drive to start the gamegood defensive stop...
  2. wow, I'm switching back and forth between ohio and miami..... just lovin this....let's go MAC.
  3. That article explains what's wrong with the mentality of how stadium (and arena) seating is designed, and it doesn't even know it.It focused on hip width. For many people, particularly men, their shoulders, and more importantly elbows, are wider than their hips. Hence the common term "elbow room".I cannot stand being packed in next to someone so close that atleast half of the spectators have to stick their freaking arms in your lap just to fit.
  4. Ah well, now that we got that corner, they have more than enough room to build the east-side dorm project as well as that access ramp for the stadium.
  5. Gah! Those must be big10 officials
  6. I'm sure you could do it. Apply for the job, genius
  7. I'll go one step further regarding Elton -- About 2 months ago he wore a nice feature on Zeke. In it he mentioned ZipsNation. Well he did, except for one thing...he made a conscious decision to NOT say "ZipsNation." Instead, he chose to say "the Akron fan message board."Elton had a chance to score big with us if he wanted. It wouldn't have hurt anything, and I believe he mentioned Scout.com and Rivals.com in the same column, so it isn't like there's a policy against direct mentions of sports web sites. But, he elected to pass. Thus I'm not going out of my way to help the PD any more than I already do (by links, content, etc.). Beyond that, Elton has been a real jerk to the Zips in the past. Hence why so many people tag him as "Ellen." He's not a real "lovable" guy. He kind of relishes being a poor man's Steven A Smith. Good for him. But it rubs me the wrong way.You know, I posted on that PD story about Zeke a while back. I signed up a screenname specifically for it. My post said exactly this: "Hey, that Akron fan message board is Zipsnation.org. Thanks for the coverage! GO ZIPS!" The screen name I signed up for was banned immediately. I wrote an email to ask why, and I was never responded to.Hmm. Do we live in China? The answer is simple. The plain dealer has nothing to fear from rivals or scout websites. They don't compete. However loosely you may think the overlap is, the plain dealer website does not want to put a link of from another website with a competitive geographic coverage, even if they serve different purposes. As odd as it may seem, they obviously feel threatened.
  8. yup, I think so.They have the rebar in, and now they need to set up some vertical faces to pour the concrete up against for the stepping affect below the seat rows.It looks like it takes some serious time (the rebar lattice is probably quite intensive) to set all that up. It could be more than a week before they pour concrete at this pace. Don't forget how massive that whole thing is.
  9. D.J. won the MCC huh?
  10. Most bars have satellite, don't they?
  11. I guess that makes Rivers a 3rd stringer
  12. The coaches want him desperately to become the second-stringer. He doesn't have to look like he could take the job from Hasselbeck, he just needs to look competent. At first that's what I thought they were saying when they said they wanted to really get a good look at Frye in this pre-season... as in, make Charlie 2nd string so that they could use Seneca Wallace in some other positions. But now I realize that they just want to know that Frye is a quality 3rd string so that they can put Wallace into the game sometimes and not worry as much about getting their 2nd string QB hurt.
  13. MNF commentators said he looked really good tonight. "veteran confidence"Still, he's third string. So, that's where it's at.
  14. If anyone remembers, throw up a bump on this thursday as a reminder about the draft
  15. The only way to do that (if you don't have the aura of some east coast or ivy league institution) that I can think of is through publishing big research breakthroughs. How does Case Western get it's rep?
  16. Yes! rebar=concrete
  17. okay... just so I got this straight....If JD sounds optimistic, then he is blowing smoke up our butts....but if JD sounds pessimistic, then he is making excuses....right?
  18. I trust the coaching staff to evaluate the talent and best fit for the QB position on this team.I'm not sure if I understand why fans say the things that they do sometimes. They either think that the coach is dumb, or they actually believe that he has some other priority other than winning.
  19. Yeah, I noticed this morning they sprayed down the earth in the bowl stands, and later it appeared they were covering it with a layer of something (I dunno what... but they had a conveyor machine and stuff)
  20. how would it?maybe the buchtelite should expand to cover the city.
  21. I believe this kind of honesty is rarely spoken. I think that SOME people do this on subconscious level. It's not necessarily about overt racism, for several reasons. (1) They do it which kids that are different, whether it be skin color, socio-economic class, or even religion. (2) It's more of a socio-psychological issue, as you alluded to. As you said, they just don't wanna see the reigns of their old sport handed over to someone else, because it makes it more difficult for them to identify with it.... and as many of us know, being a fan in sports is just spectators with vicarious pride and identification with an athlete or team. Anyway, it doesn't have to be race, but I think a level of hypocrisy (often subconscious) sometimes becomes quite apparent. When a white kid screws up, he made a mistake, or was led astray or had bad influence. When the black kid screws up, it's a sign that he's a thug. Some people don't catch themselves doing this.
  22. That's what I was thinking. I wont take him too early because I suspect everyone in my league (unless there are Giants fans) will not know him.Did you see Domenik really turn on the afterburners about half way through his kickoff return. He's got a serious third gear
  23. :DI got the warm and fuzzies.2 TD catches and a Kickoff Return
  24. You would feel very safe saying that, as your opinion. On a case by case basis, when you are speaking in reference to an american citizen who was not convicted of a crime, then when you say you feel they were guilty, you are stating your opinion... legally, they are innocent regardless of how you feel.
  25. I actually agree with you, Dr.Z, when it comes to your own personal opinion about someone or something, you can have all the gray area you want, and all the moral relativism or absolutes that you choose. I also think that the program can exercise digression as it chooses, and decide who they think will be a fit and who will be a disruption. It's their program and they gotta live with their decisions. It's just that sometimes I see people trying to blur the lines about the law. There is no blur. Innocent until proven guilty. So, if someone "thinks" or "feels" or "believes" that Devoe was guilty, then just say it that way... as an opinion.ziptrumpet87 saying 'I hope we're not on the verge of becoming "Thug U"' is an opinion. Great. Not good is Zipsrifle was trying to make a parallel to giving someone convicted of battery (did he actually get convicted yet. I didn't read that part, BTW) to someone who was not convicted of anything at all when he said 'He just needs a second chance. Just because he got in trouble once doesn't mean he will do it again'.I know I'm over-reacting. I'm sorry. But if he wasn't convicted, then he is INNOCENT.
