Guys, the benefits of consolidating administration is negligible. You still have two campuses to manage, even if they are under one banner.Where they MAY have a point is combining educational resources and overlapping programs, but even that is quite limited, because if you do it in it's truest sense, what you end up doing is taking away the LOCAL higher education resources from the population (IE, people who walk or use public transportation to campus) which they are not going to do unless they SPEND MONEY on a inter-campus transportation system between Akron and Cleveland, which defeats the purpose of being efficient. It doesn't make any sense. This whole thing, in my opinion, is about NEOUCOM. They want it for Case. They want it in Cleveland. That's why I gave my thread the title "I KNEW IT WAS A COUP"This is all politics. What did you expect from politicians.I didn't think Cleveland had much clout in Columbus.... but apparently, they definately got more pull than Akron. What a shit-job

lol, damn u zippyboy. I started this post 20 mins ago, but a sales guy couldn't figure out how to get his wireless connection to work and I got interupted.

Did you see the Headline for the Plain Dealer today?"New Vision for the reigon's universities? It says "Two universities could be combined".It goes on to talk mostly about the NEOUCOM, which Cleveland basically steals from portage county. At first, I thought maybe that's all it was (as if that's a little thing. it's a coup in itself), and I figured they just wanted to help out cleveland, a town which is killing itself and needs the state to throw it bones as it drowns, as if that's going to help. But then I read on, and some of this stuff sound very serious."Combining CSU and UA would eliminate overlapping programs and administrative jobs, and the two schools would then function under a single leader."Get this BS: "There is a pretty broad concensus that the status quo in Northeast Ohio is not acceptable," Fingerhut said.BULLSHyT! Maybe it's bad in cleveland, but why fux up the rest of NEOhio because of it???Okay, so I started this thread. Maybe I should keep my opinion out of this post and reserve it for the debate to ensue. So I have a question or two. I can't imagine a fullblown merger, which is what some of the more provocative statements in the article indicate. Can you imagine this? How would it work? Northcoast University North and South? WTFWhat about the football games? We got a new stadium in the works. Do you take some of your classes in up I77 and some of them down I77?Other than making some of the administrative desk jockies work for both schools, how is this some kinda genius move?

Maybe Zip Nation members should be more respectful of others and their opinions. I don't post nearly as much as I did last year due to the fact that a couple of times I voiced an opinion and the smart ass remarks and personal insults that were engendered caused me to rethink my desire to post. Some people on this board seem to feel that if you don't agree with their statements you are fair game for ridicule. I wonder if we need a slight bit more moderation. You know, just a guiding presence in some of the more heated topics. Nothing draconian.

MAC Week 4 Preview, News & A Major Upset Call
zen replied to MACReport's topic in Akron Zips Football
screw this underdog crap.... and who is getting points... and who is picking who to win. When the game is over, none of that will matter, because it is only the game on the field and the score on the scoreboard that matters. Everyone else is just blowing hot air. -
Maybe it's my imagination, or I am remembering things wrong, but it seemed like there was more activity and more posting here last year.I think everyone is just lurking. I come on here sometimes and no one has posted for hours yet there are over 10 members online.

I agree. This is why I have resisted temptation to continuously argue in this thread (and the other similar threads). I think it just plays into the hands of the anti-frye crowd that just wants to keep going at it endlessly.

zippy is losing by 30 points in the week's head to head matchup, but is in 2nd place overall by less than 300 points

Since I couldn't get inspired with my own idea, I stole yours. Hope you don't mind.

That wouldn't suprise me AT ALL. I'm sure that was the line of thinking, and it just never occured to them that people would get heat exhaustion. Even if hot temperatures came up in the conversation, I'm sure they just assumed that people would spend the money on concessions rather than dehydrate and such.IF they were barring people from bringing water in through the gates, then they could have lawsuits from a situation like that.

why am I still suprised that the Can't population would attempt to sex up marsupials?

holy fukking shit. we are 7 days away and the revision of history is mammoth! Most of those passes were on the hands, which was most pronounced by the extremely errant placement of passes of DA in the subsequent 2 series. THERE IS NO WAY i am going to edit video and post on youtube just to prove you wrong. I just need to posit my protest. One only need to look at your replies to how he performed in that game last week to see how much more exaggerated (although your characterizations were wrong even then) you have become in your appraisal in one week.If Frye should have been pulled last week, Anderson should have been pulled this week. The outcomes are different because the actions are different.
-
NOTHING guarantees wins. Just ask ND and Michigan (well, one of them hadda win this week, but NEway).Perception and destiny are fickle things. Karma is unquantifiable. What matters is mass inertia. A new stadium builds mass. Inertia is what we have to work on.

if you have this game on DVR (or tape if u r oldskool), watch the first several drives. Compare the passes behind the receiver and near interceptions. Frye was removed for the same kindof performance that DA game early in the game. (in fact, frye's was better. His wasn't behind. His were just dropped)There's your moral of the story right there. Frye should have been left in. Who knows what would have happened (I bet you claim to know)Unfortunately, if I claim that last week would have gone differently if Frye wasn't pulled, I will get all sorta shit. I will anyway, so flame away frye-haiting trolls

a hah! Big 10 officials getting nervous, enter fray

Ohio is tied up with #18 Virginia Tech, 7-7 nearly at halftime.Buffalo led Penn 3-0 after the first quarter. LOL... then reality set in.Akron down by only 3 to Indiana in the 4th.

He comes in as # 3 because he doesn't know anything about the system. Seattle runs their program the right way. Developing players and not just tossing them (ala Cleveland) to the dogs after they have a 60% grasp of a system. You are such a tool. No...Charlie is number 3 because Hasselbeck and Wallace are both better than him. back in troll mode eh? If troll = being realistic, then yes...I'm a troll Even the people on the Seahawks boards aren't as smart as you about their quarterbacks. Many of them speculate about what to do with Wallace. hmmm...

It's just your opinion (and it sux)... listen closely, yo...Time will prove you wrong... You can speak like you are some sorta expert, but that doesn't make you right. Actually, time is proving me correct. Wow, I missed that kewl trick you did with the crystal ball where you saw Frye wallow in obscurity as a backup for 10 years. :rolleyes:5 days ago, you guys were predicting that he would get cut and no one would even want him
