  1. Agreed. I can't believe how bad our defense is. There's no excuse for it. Victor Jones & Zach Morton should be top MAC DE's. Curtis Harper & Kyle Thomas seem to be pretty good DT's. Add in Opening Day starter Logan Hawkins & Ravontae Holt for depth. Bubba is one of the better LB's in the MAC & place either Boateng or Terry beside him & that's a more-than-serviceable LB crew. No one in the MAC should be running the ball on us. Especially like OU just did. No excuse. Our defensive backfield is a problem. But with that front 6 we should be stuffing the run & getting more QB pressure than we are to take pressure of our below average DB crew. Let me just say that I love #24 Darrien Lewis... and #16 Nate Thompson has stepped up his game. But... Jaylen Kelly-Powell seems like a great young man but he's never impressed me much at S, and two transfers that I thought were going to make a dramatic impact this year, CB Cam Threatt and S KJ Martin, have been... umm,... underwhelming. I can't get down on #28 Tyson Durant because one, he's a local product, and two, he's a former walk-on. If a former walk-on is the best we can field, then... I can't get down on Durant. Hooks is another disappointment. He's a physical specimen but teams have been picking on him for years. I remember a game at UMass a few years ago where the UMass receiver out-fought hooks for a TD catch. The UMass-homer announcers said UMass players hadn't been able to out-athlete teams before so they were glad to see that. Idk, I digress.
  2. Thank you for the updates, @TennZip!
  3. TD!!! As poorly as the D has played I can’t believe we’re still in this game. 28-20 OU
  4. Yes. The muff was one one time mental error. This defense is consistently bad.
  5. 3:31 till halftime & Roueke just threw his first incompletion
  6. I hurried home to watch this?
  7. No idea, but man are they gorgeous! Even if we don't get them this year they're obviously on Guthrie's To Do List, so hopefully sooner rather than later.
  8. We've lost 13 of our last 14 games -v- Ohio 😬
  9. How is the action thus far? Any updates?
  10. Nice!! Big play when we needed one!
  11. This is great, @catdaddyp. Thank you. As this thread continues to grow this post will get lost, so, for easy reference, when I get some free time tomorrow I'll incorporate your information into Post #1.
  12. Akron mistakes (pick 6 and muffed punt at our own 2-yardline) gave BUGS 14 points. That's a textbook example of beating one's own self. He said, "beating one's own self."
  13. This is nice.
  14. I like next year's schedule with Kentucky and Indiana. Those are the types of P5 schools we should be scheduling (ala, NC State). We should not be scheduling national championship contenders... unless it's Ohio State, or, IMHO, Michigan. (And, yes, I know, just our luck that Kentucky is really good this year and might be next year. That's just Akron luck; what are you gonna do?) What I feel our OOC schedule should look like every year: FCS - open with an FCS school. Get a W at home. (Heck, make it YSU & bring back the Steel Tire Trophy.) G5 - schedule a G5 like we did this year w/ Liberty P5 - middling-to-lower tier P5 school. No Alabamas or Georgias. Also - postgame fireworks at each home game through October
