  1. I don't know enough about him to not be interested. Lol. Both he and your head coach are Mount guys. Mount is a football coach factory.
  2. Maybe... 1. Log out 2. clear your ZipsNation.org cookies 3. log back in ???
  3. Groce put the bench in with, what, about 5 minutes to play? Yeah, it was extended practice and Groce had them foot-on-the-gas for the entire 35 minutes the starters were in. I felt a little bad for Point Park, but Groce was getting this team ready to play suffocating D for 40 straight minutes. I loved to see it. And while the game will count as a win for us, it was a literal scrimmage for Point Park so won't be reflected on their schedule.
  4. You have to be a subscriber to read the article, but I could also make out that they mentioned Bobby Petrino, who is presently at Missouri State, and Ferris State's Tony Annese. I think I'd be extremely excited about Bobby Petrino.
  5. And that coming off Johnson, Mitchell, and Kalle 🤯 We’re stacked for years to come 💪💪
  6. Want the best fit in the 2022 class? That is Lyons Township point guard Tavari Johnson to Akron. The ball screen genius fits in perfectly to John Groce’s system. The Zips pursued him as aggressively as anyone went after a recruit in July and got him to sign on the dotted line making his commitment official. This is the kind of guard that wins games in the NCAA Tournament!
  7. I think that was Kato's one good game as a Zip.
  8. Man, that COVID year is still throwing me for a loop. This team is so young! KJ Walton is our only senior 🤯 Juniors: X Trimble Wynn Sophomores: Tribble 🤯 Dawson 🤯 Ali 🤯 Freeman 🤯 Freshmen: Clarke Bandaogo
  9. He definitely looked like he belonged. He wanted the ball down low & looked quite coordinated. (But as others have pointed out, Point Park was bad -it was hard for me to tell last night if they're the worst team I've ever seen in the JAR, or if we made them look worse than they are. We were playing RELENTLESS D! Though we did work on our zone D a little - but they were swarming with that as well!) But I'll bet you're right in that he'll redshirt this season. I don't know about the rule where you can play a few games and still redshirt, but that must be what's going on. (Both Nate Johnson and Kobe Mitchell are definite redshirts.) It appears we've got a solid 9-man rotation with X..................Clarke (X was on fire last night, if that's typical X, KSUcks can have Carry.) KJ................Tribble (who also played some PG last night and about tore the rim off again) Trimble........Dawson (love Trimble's newfound passion for defense and Dawson's a junkyard dog) Ali Freeman.......Aziz I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the intensity with which we're playing D. That's a Top 25 defense! With the focus and energy required to maintain such defensive intensity for 40-minutes it'd be nice if Wynn buckled down and was able to give Groce a full 10-man rotation backing up Ali. But 9 will do. LOVE IT!
  10. Wynn & Kalle sightings!
  11. That’s probably the answer to @Illini Zip’s question in the recruiting thread.
  12. Still no Wynn.
  13. Walton’s gotta be graduating, right? 😂
  14. Great defense!!!
  15. Nor are there many in Upper Reserved.
  16. But disappointing turnout otherwise. About 10 minutes till tip & there are 4 ppl in the north bleachers.
  17. Nice student turnout. Hope that becomes a regular occurrence. If we’re gonna schedule schools like these I’d rather we schedule amount Union, Walsh, or Malone.
  18. I'm glad we've looked solid the past two weeks. Any potential candidate who was watching our game last week sees that we've got some offensive talent with which to work.
  19. Nice! Those are great seats! And right across from the opponent's bench. Love it!
  20. They’re selling beer in the JAR. On phone or I’d post tweet.
  21. Yes, when the game started Tuesday night I thought it looked like Ali was doing another disappearing act like against WVU. But then he finished with 17 points & actually waved Trimble off for the game-tying/go-ahead and-one 3 with 6 seconds left in the game. Loved to see it! I'll be curious to see how he plays Saturday night. Last year after his explosion at Ball State, I forget who we were playing, but he was really hoisting up (and missing) a lot of shots - so many so that it seemed to hurt the team. We'll see.
