Blue & Gold

Former Copley star (and injury-prone) RB Weston Bridges is transferring from MSU. Wonder if we have a shot?

Both Larry Nance Jr. and C.J. McCollum wanted to attend UA and KD had scholarships available for neither. Can you believe it? ???

Btw, Gavin Bizeau, who was mentioned in Post #1, has transferred to Toledo. We never did find out what the mass exodus at Duquesne (KD's recruits, mind you) was all about. Screw Duquesne. Go Zips! Go AKRON!

Wow. How unfortunate. At least he can know that he went out on top as he had become a dominant wideout. God bless, Dusty! Forever a Zip!

Lost in yesterday's misery was this^^ bit of good - maybe even great - news! 247 Sports dot com gives Clarke 3-stars Extremely promising scouting report on Garvin from PrepHoops dot com YouTube interview with Euclid coach T.J. Kwasniak - Garvin played at Euclid last year Garvin has length, huge hands & looks explosive, effortlessly dunking in this twitter clip With Garvin and Greg Tribble, we're now seemingly set at PG for the next 5 years. Nice position to be in. Plus, 2021 Zips recruiting target - SG E.J. Farmer - has also transferred to Cleveland Heights, so maybe this gives us an edge in also signing him?

ABJ/GT: Patience will be required to see University of Akron football program achieve success

ABJ & Record Courier/Allen Moff: Flashes take first place, Wagon Wheel with win over rival Zips I appreciate Sean Lewis' moxie, but this gets me fired up: "It's great to be 2-0 in the conference and have two dominant wins. To have our Wheel home, and [win] it in dominant fashion, that's just icing on the cake. I can't wait to paint that Wheel the right colors." That's poster board material.

Top shelf! Thank you, Doc!

Sounds like Joey Marousek suffered a season-ending injury last night, as one of the replies to this tweet reads, "Great season man. Made every Friday worth watching." Keep your head up, Joey! And here's to a speedy and full recovery.

ABJ/GT: Zips look to rivalry against Kent State to reset a season of struggles

ABJ/GT: Optimism reigns for both men and women at media day GT got Groce's quote a little wrong. Groce actually said, "We have to get to the point of playing for each other, not just with each other." I thought it was a good motivational concept.

I think the previous staff had extended Keyes an offer. Idk if that stands w/ the present staff.

^^Young guy's got great length. We'll see how confident & aggressive he is at this level. Maybe we found ourselves a late bloomer.

GoZips dot com is getting ready to livestream the Men's & Women's Basketball Media Day

I think that was yesterday.

ABJ/GT: Zips QB situation uncertain going into game against rival Kent State Good article. GT also discusses some of the players in the Transfer Portal and includes an interesting quote from Tom Arth concerning the KSUcks rivalry: "We're going to do something nice for [the team on Wednesday]... it will be a good opportunity [for them] to learn what this rivalry means and what this game means to our university."

ABJ: University of Akron expects renovations on baseball field to be complete by end of month

+1. If we could put an end to that I think we could be a monster in the MAC & an occasional, perhaps even regular, #22-#25-ish member of the Top 25.
