  1. Too late for that?
  2. This is the tension I feel. I like our defense. I've liked our defense for years!!! This defensive staff is a good one. But what do you do when the head coach won't make the changes on the offensive side of the ball that anyone with half a brain sees as plainly obvious? It's absolutely perplexing, irresponsible and downright disgusting. Bowden's stubbornness is taking a great defensive staff down with him.
  3. Agreed. It has devolved into this situation. It took Bowden too long to act and now it's too late. An adult (Larry) has to step in here. Sadly.
  4. Bowden refusing to make the obvious move on Milwee has possibly cost this entire staff. Disgusting and utterly irresponsible.
  5. Not only do we have far and away the nicest facilities in the MAC, but possibly in all of G-5 football. On top of that, Akron is literally the epicenter of one of the nation's true hot beds for high school football talent. Why can't we be the Mount Union of the MAC? For the life of me I can't figure out why we aren't already. Just hire Mount's OC, for crying out loud. It isn't rocket science.
  6. Agreed. I'm tired of hearing Bowden talk about the "parity of the MAC." I don't want a coach who continually points out, "Behold! All the teams are virtually the same!" I want a coach who says, "This is a below average conference from top to bottom and we're going to make each and every conference member our bitch." Again, I'm getting on Bowden when my real beef is with Milwee. Our D's been pretty stout for 6 years now. Our O? Not so much. It's beyond time for a change.
  7. ABJ: Zips can't afford to look past Bowling Green
  8. We’ll find out at 11:00 a.m. Monday! Go Zips!!
  9. Above the bench in the lower bowl? Those seats are awesome.
  10. It feels like someone flirting with your girlfriend. GTF out of here, KD. You left for Pittsburgh.
  11. Would have pulled off the upset if one of the best WR's in Zips history -JoJo Natson - didn't drop a last-second desperation pass in the end zone which hit him right between the numbers. Only pass I think he dropped all year. Lol.
  12. That was an exceptional performance, but Josh played sort of like that in high school. I was ecstatic when he gave a verbal to UA. He's one of the best high school players I've ever seen, not explosive, but under control, cool as a cucumber & could shoot the lights out. As it ends up he just wasn't quick enough for the D-1 game. Looks like he found his appropriate level of competition against D-3. Lol.
  13. ^^WOW. Talk about an articulate, well-spoken, mature, composed young man. Welcome to the family, Ali!!
  14. ABJ: University of Akron Men's Basketball Zips Sign Three Recruits
  15. ABJ: Zips looking to avoid upset in first-round tournament match against Rider ...the Broncs have won five in a row and have outscored opponents 12-0 in that span.
  16. Good thinking, 'Meister. Could Coach Stroud serve as both DC and OC?
  17. ABJ: University of Akron football quarterback situation remains in question for Zips As for Ramart? With Nelson’s status still questionable, he will be the next man up if needed. Bowden said the redshirt freshman was down after the loss Saturday. The message was simple. “You’re not the first quarterback to start out bad,” Bowden said. Alex is going to be fine. You could tell the game was still moving too fast for him. The only remedy for that is reps. It also looked to me like Alex was aiming the ball instead of just throwing it (because he was tight). Pressing too hard. I remember those days from when I played; one of the worst feelings in the world. Only experience cures that. If I may, I will point out one thing I think may be a weakness in his game that reps may not remedy - I think his deep balls flutter a little bit & get caught up. He has a tendency to under throw the deep ball, but he did this in the Spring Game as well, so it wasn't just tightness from starting his first game. In the Spring Game, IIRC, he threw deep, the ball got caught up and fluttered a little bit & gave time for Reggie Corner to run under it and make the interception. I believe the same happened in mop-up duty time against Morgan State. That's something he'll have to work on in the off season. Again, I'll clarify my frustration lies with Milwee. Not Alex. Alex is going to be fine. But Milwee's been underwhelming as OC for... Idk... five years now?
  18. With 3 minutes to go Chicago State is up on Illinois State 68-62.
