Beacon: Zips put 12-game winning streak on the line on the road against tough Bobcats KD & I are of one heart and mind on this issue: “This city deserves to be proud and, again, because I’m a dual university community member, I want the community to have pride in us and I want to have unbelievable pride in the city,” he said. “For us to get Top 25 votes, that gives us the opportunity to do that. If we can crack the Top 25, this city will really start to have pride. Just like what LeBron did.” -

Good. Kwan's feeling well enough to watch a movie w/ the team. Hope he feels ready to go tomorrow a.m. -
Amen. I'm amped about this class. I wouldn't be as much if we didn't know about the players who weren't announced, but since we do...
-
Well, at least he's not 5'8" like me ?

Well, this makes me feel a little bit (a LITTLE bit) better about our WR corps after it got gutted this off season. Honestly, my optimism about next year was based on a healthy Woody throwing to those three P5 guys I thought we had waiting in the wings.

I used to tell my friends Dog was a good FT shooter for a big. He's always had nice touch & good rotation in his shot. I think Clark's right about it being in his head. We'll see. -
Great thread! The above link for Malik Townsend is actually linked to Matthew Hanson's twitter account. Edit: Thank you. Fixed.

LZip, you're referring to last year's class, which was 2016. Keener's talking about the 2015 class. I don't remember who was in that class, do you? I should write that stuff down. Edit: And... Keener beat me to it. Thanks, K92!

Ramon is 6-4, 375 OL!! Can move pretty well too. Ramon is part of the reason I'm picking Devanier Floyd to win Ohio's Mr. Football next season.
-
I somehow missed OL Hunter Corne (poor OL always get overlooked. Lol). I think any linemen on the D-1 level are benefitted by a redshirt. Red shirt for Corne. Red shirts are great. Get acclimated to college. Focus on academics. Eat, lift, eat, lift, eat, lift, eat, lift...

I don't know if I'd even consider it an upset if OU beat us in Athens. I think this is going to be a very tough game.

By the way, if you get the chance, pick up a paper copy of today's ABJ. The Zips recruiting class gets the entire page one (sports) above-the-fold placement, complete with a wicked picture of Jemarulin Suggs. Columbus State gets below-the-fold placement. (I'm showing my age. I doubt anyone presently in college even knows what "above-the-fold" placement means. Lol.)

Great question! Alex Ramart (QB) - definite redshirt Jordan Riley (ATH) - love this guy's build & looks like he can jump out of the gym. But we're rather set at DB so he'll likely redshirt. Reggie Corner (S) - same as above. Jeffrey Lubin (CB) - again, will be a good one but will redshirt. Zaire Jacobs (DB) - ditto DeAndre Brimage (DL) - Brim needs a year in the strength program before he sees the field. But that's normal, rarely do guys play as true frosh on the DL (unless you're at Ohio State or Alabama or one of those hyper-elite programs). Eric Bentley (DL) - ditto. GoZips.com lists him @ 6-2, 244. That's why he didn't see more attention during the recruiting process. I saw Bentley play a handful of times & thought he looked bigger than that. I would have pegged him at 265-275. On the field he and Hoban's Jabari Taylor looked like twins to me. Jemarulin Suggs (RB) - Suggs is simply a great RB but I think he gets red shirted. I'm excited to see what Suggs looks like 18 months from now after spending a year in our strength program. Malik Wooldridge (WR) - needs a year to develop more; red shirt. Kobie Booker (TE) - I'm disappointed they list him at TE. I'm afraid he's going to be wasted there. He's built like the Incredible Hulk. I think he could be an absolute terror at DE. But, oh well. Red shirt for Kobie. Dusty Burkhart (WR) - Great straight-line speed. But, like Austin Wolf, no reason to rush him out there. Red shirt. Which leaves who I think has the best shot of who I think answers your question about making the biggest impact the quickest. I'm going with QB Nick Johns. He has a chance to start at Penn State next year.

Idk, isn't that what fans do on sports forums? It's not like Big Dog reads an OU fan board or would even care if he did. And the "slams" weren't racist. I'm not offended.

GT of the Beacon Journal: East's Jemarulin Suggs headlines Zips' 13-member signing class This article's dispassionate and discombobulated and contains a few silly factual errors. Due to the information overload that is NLI Day, I'd be alright with it... if I expected a further series of articles highlighting some of the individual players who signed yesterday. But knowing the Beacon Journal, this will be the last we read of NLI Day.

Here's one: Justin Sampson's on the far left.
-
Justin Sampson still has this "pinned" to the top of his twitter feed: I also saw a few pictures of him on twitter yesterday wearing a Zips hat for NLI Day, but I don't have time to search for them now. I'm comfortable believing Sampson's a Zip.

Will we find out this spring whether the stud WR's we were hoping for are still on the roster?
