  2. Told you so.
  3. Nice. I hope Hurley stays in Buffalo for a long time. It's good for us & keeps pressure on us to up our game as well. Plus, I like the budding rivalry with Buffalo. It's fun. We've already got two pretty epic rivals in OU & K.e.n.t. Let's have another; makes for more meaningful games throughout the course of the season.
  4. If that's the case, great! Go KD. Thanks for the clarification.
  5. I'm worried about NIU. NIU is just one of those teams that plays well against us and I doubt we'll be shooting the 3 at the high percentage we did against K.e.nt, which kept us in the game.
  6. We needed more from Nyles last night. 2 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound.
  7. I was wondering the same; wondering if Dambrot had lost his sanity. We needed someone to step up & Antino's been willing and able to do so. After that huge 3 KD succeeded in getting Antino to hang his head & just stare down at his shoes. I think it was Kwan who put his arm around Antino & cheered him up again. The rest of the team & bench were appropriately amped about Antino's clutch shot.
  8. Honestly, I go to Can't games once in a while & the only time they get "good" student turn out is for the Akron game. If we ever ended our rivalry with Can't I don't know what they'd do.
  9. Everyone's gotta step up, of course. But I think we'll especially need a big game from Nyles tonight. It's been a while since we've gotten one of those. 11 points, 3 assists & tenacious D.
  10. Ohio.com game day story: http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/ua-basketball-wounded-zips-find-themselves-backed-into-corner-1.572175 From the article: "During a loss to Miami on Tuesday, UA also lost center Pat Forsythe to turf toe and B.J. Gladden to season-ending surgery for a medical condition." Can anyone give more information on what happened to B.J.?
  11. That would be my guess, as next year will be Pat, jake & Reggie's senior seasons. So we'll be losing 2 wings and a center. We've got 1 wing down, 1 to go. Come on, Henry Baddley!!!
  12. True, but wasn't it -10 degrees, or something ridiculous like that? I'm a die hard but I only stayed for 1/2 of the game.
  13. Isaiah Williams, a 6-5 SF from Dayton has given a verbal commitment to the Zips. https://twitter.com/zay_williams20/status/571909279432589312?lang=en
  14. He's been nursing an ankle sprain.
  15. Sophomore infielder Dom Iero named Zips' Student-Athlete of the Week. http://www.gozips.com/athletes/Feb._23

  17. Treadmill time? Come on, he may re-injure his wrist.
  18. And give him plenty of PT.
  19. With the bad news about Robotham probably putting a realistic end to any MACC expectations this year, I thought I'd just try to brighten everyone's spirits by reminding everyone we have the individual leaders of not one, but TWO teams ranked in the USA Today Top 25 committed to the Zips next season. Peter Agba of #22-ranked Greensboro County Day, and Josh Williams of #3-ranked STVM. Btw, Josh Williams & STVM just put the smack down on highly ranked Villa-Angela St. Joseph over the weekend. http://www.ohio.com/sports/high-school/high-school-basketball-st-vincent-st-mary-89-villa-angela-st-joseph-76-irish-turn-showdown-of-top-ranked-teams-into-showtime-1.569003 (The game featured UA-bound Josh Williams & Kansas-bound Carlton Bragg, but the biggest, baddest star of the night was probably STVM junior Henry Baddley w/ 29 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists & a block. KEITH DAMBROT BETTER BE ALL OVER BADDLEY!!!)
  20. I'm excited about finally being able to be excited about Akron Baseball!
  21. I'm torn.
  22. Ohio.com game story http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/ua-basketball-zips-must-beware-of-improving-redhawks-1.568488 "...UA is likely to play without a key cog in its lineup again. Freshman starting point guard Noah Robotham will likely sit out with the flu. Robotham’s wise-beyond-his-years calm and guidance has proved to be a steadying force for the Zips this season and has greatly contributed to the team’s success. He missed the Zips’ 68-66 loss to Toledo on Wednesday." I like GT's colorful description of Antino Jackson: "In his place, fellow freshman Antino Jackson will once again get the start. It took his Zips teammates some time to get used to Jackson’s style (think jackrabbit on Starbucks with a couple of shots of espresso for an extra kick) against the Rockets."
  23. Not surprised by the below-average attendance as it was just simply... dangerously... brutally cold outside.
