  1. Marla Ridenour on Pat & Big Dog. http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/marla-ridenour-university-of-akron-s-disrespected-inside-game-coming-on-at-right-time-1.565981
  2. Where do you see this? Rivals.com still has him committed to UA. Of course, since he's committed to UA, they've downgraded him from 4-stars to 2-stars.
  3. Well, we won tonight. But we also lost #TeamOhio
  4. Joshua Williams' STVM now ranked #3 in USA Today's Top 25. http://usatodayhss.com/rankings/expert/boys/basketball/2014/8 Tough stretch coming up. STVM plays @ Shaker Heights tonight, then @ undefeated Walsh Jesuit, followed by a game against Carlton Bragg's St. Joe's.
  5. We were in the running for Michigan DE Immanuel Stinson & it doesn't look at though he signed with anyone on Wednesday. https://rivals.yahoo.com/michiganstate/football/recruiting/player-Immanuel-Stinson-159381#college_choices
  6. I think Noah Robotham is team MVP so far this season with Pat a very close second. Pat's one of the most dominant big men in the MAC. Maybe the most dominant. I don't think Pat's hurting for confidence. I think Big Dog is. A little. That's how I'd read that.
  7. That list is interesting. It also gives leverage to teams based on the number of recruits they signed, but look at the average star-rating. Akron is doing quite well if you look at the average: #1: Toledo (2.24-star average) #2a: Akron: (2.23-star average) #2b: Miami: (2.23-star average) #4: WMU: (2.22-star average) #5: NIU: (2.16-star average) Miami is the big surprise on that list.
  8. Not as much information to be found on Emmanuel, but Olojakapoke's been tearing it up this year... http://www.maxpreps.com/local/team/player_of_the_game_and_year.aspx?contestid=e5982a7e-99ae-49b0-ad8e-2045a3178fef&schoolid=35d647be-1e56-4447-a321-b1ffd9ee093b&ssid=4846da9f-66fa-49e9-a3d1-15f04ca7ecc4
  9. Frenchy & Dunn both mentioned that Buffalo's legs looked a bit tired at the close of the game tonight while we had 5 fresh players. So I stand corrected.
  10. I know Steve French & Joe Dunn mentioned it on 1350.
  11. To gain an advantage by going 11-deep, you've got to play a fast-break, run-n-gun offense and a full-court press, high-pressure defense (ala, vintage Arkansas' "40-minutes of hell"). We don't employ either, so going 11-deep is no advantage at all. IMO it essentially just prevents any one player from really getting into a groove.
  12. Thanks, but it doesn't look like they're streaming it.
  13. The game's blacked out on ESPN3 & I don't have cable. Is there anywhere I can watch online?
  14. DiG shamelessly plagiarized George Thomas' in-depth game preview.
  15. http://www.ohio.com/sports/high-school/high-school-notebook-revere-st-v-m-coventry-athletes-primed-to-join-akron-football-team-1.564795?localLinksEnabled=false&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Coventry senior defensive end-wide receiver Devon Jones plans to attempt to walk-on the UA football team, says Comets coach Ed Egan. Jones is 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds. Courtesy of Michael Beaven @ ABJ.
  16. I'd love to see Paris Campbell come home. He could really contribute here but won't likely see the field in Columbus.
  17. Do we get Donnell Alexander for one year, or two?
  18. Edwards rushed for 1,018 yards and 14 touchdowns in his senior season. He liked the idea of playing in a spread offense in the high-scoring Middle American Conference, where he'll frequently play on Tuesday nights in front of a national audience on ESPN. ...in front of a national audience and an empty InfoCision Stadium... "It's going to be weird and take some getting used to," Edwards said. ...Yeah, join the club...
  19. Great work! Thank you. I did notice you're missing Tommy Brown on the OL. Also, It'd probably also be safe to say Rodney Coe is on the DL. Right now you have him listed w/ the Athletes.
  20. I like taking it to the hoop strong on the final play. Deji almost made the layup. He probably got fouled. We only went to the line, what, 6 times tonight? Wow. We didn't make a single free throw tonight. Ouch.
  21. I love both Jake & Reggie, but they'd both better really pick up their respective games or 1) we're not going anywhere this year, and 2) they'll both get splinters sitting on the bench next year. And Antino's really played like a true freshman PG tonight. He wasn't able to sufficiently spell Robo.
  22. Our guards can't stay in front of their guards. Their guard penetration has our defense looking pretty discombobulated.
  23. 12:34 & he's now listed. They have him as a LB.
  24. I don't believe the Student Union gathering is until 3:00 p.m. This morning the all coaches have probably been hunkered down in the football office hovering over the fax machine.
