  1. Nico Caponi is not listed on this week's 2-deep Depth Chart. Someone mentioned he got hurt last week, but I've neither heard nor read anything about it since. [edit] Hmm. Surprisingly, CJ Mizell is still not listed on the 2-deep.
  2. Wow, what a run! I'm looking forward to a great game.
  3. I'd be ready to run through a wall!
  4. Yeah, gotta give a lot of credit to Michigan there. They really did blow that play up.
  5. So what happened to Nico Caponi. He got hurt? How severely? While watching the game, I did notice that Austin Bailey was playing some D, but I didn't noticed that it was Nico that he was replacing.
  6. ^^^The emergence of Jamel Turner is something else that was beautiful to see last Saturday that hadn't been mentioned yet. Watch Justin March's 1st interception near the end of the 1st half & watch how JT absolutely destroys Michigan's tight end. The poor guys could hardly get off the field after the play.
  7. The above post was in the context of why Bowden didn't go for the first down and instead opted to try the field goal toward the end of the first half. I had the same thought as posted above. I actually saw Bowden's decision to go for 3 as a sign of confidence. He saw that we didn't have to gamble & run trick plays to stay in this game. We just had to play our game & go toe-to-toe with them.
  8. I see this is already being discussed in "The Michigan Game Thread."
  9. Thanks, Doctor. Good work. It's a little bit hard to tell on the above gif, but watching the game on tv, it sure looked like D'Orazio was held on the final play. After watching the replay (DVR) a handful of times, it really looks like KP was throwing the ball to a space in the back of the end zone, where D'Orazio should have been, were he not held @ the line. Also, you can clearly see D'Orazio complaining to the official following the play. Idk, it's Michigan's house & they paid us $1 million to show up & play. I don't think we could/should expect to get that call. But still...
  10. I've felt this way before. I remember when we gave Virginia Tech all they could handle in, what, 1995-ish. I thought, "Wow, we shouldn't lose another game the rest of the season." That didn't work out so well. We gave Tennessee all they wanted last year, only to have another 1-11 season. I see the UA marketing department already advertising tickets to the Louisiana game featuring the 28-24 final score with the tagline "Rising." Playing Michigan the week after they had just faced Notre Dame was fortunate for us. I'm sure they couldn't help but to have been a little drained the week following that game. I hope our fellas understand clearly that if we don't play this week as well as we played last week, we'll lose on Saturday. Louisiana hung 70 points on the board yesterday. It was against a 1-AA, but still, 70 points. We'd better be ready. Moving forward. Kyle Pohl really grew up in the 2nd half; excellent half of football. Our OL generally gave Pohl more than enough time. Our DL got pressure on Gardner while only rushing 4. I don't think we had to blitz very often. If we can continue to do that the rest of the year we'll be in great shape. We really stuffed Michigan's run game all afternoon. Without looking at the official stats, I'd think the vast majority of Michigan's rushing yards had to have come from Gardner's scrambles. That was the DL I was expecting to see against UCF & JMU. Welcome to the party, fellas.
  11. I love the Z helmets. And the zipper stripe looks great on t.v. I didn't think I'd ever be able to say this, but our helmets are cooler than Michigan's. Maybe.
  12. Good catch. That sucks.
  13. This is untrue. He stated that once, while he was being interviewed on the campus of Columbus state in front of about 1,000 Columbus State students.
  14. Justin March is an absolute beast. I noticed it for the first time during last year's Tennessee game. During that 1st-series interception return, March lifted up a Tennessee offensive lineman and pancaked him flat on his back. It was incredible.
  15. Safety Anthony Holmes just made the weakest attempt at a tackle I believe I've ever seen. TD Michigan.
  16. Game just started, so I'm probably not going to post much. But the "Z" mark on the side of the helmet is SHARP!!
  17. Then I bow to your opinion, because I don't know much at all about soccer. I just noticed that the GK did catch the ball so we didn't get any 2nd chance shots @ an open net off of a ricochet. Also, we don't seem, as a team, to collectively bum rush the goal. It always feels like it's only our 2 forwards against about 6-8 defenders in the box.
  18. ^^He did. He caught the ball when he stopped it. I don't believe a ball reflected off the GK all night to give us a second shot on goal.
  19. I watched the game online last night & the Zips must've controlled possession of the ball for literally 90% of the match. I read in the ABJ this morning that the Zips led in shots 28-3, shots on goal 7-2 and corner kicks 7-1. But to no avail. We don't seem to have a top-shelf striker.
  20. Tyrell Goodman has moved ahead of L.T. Smith on the Depth Chart. Still no C.J. Mizell on the 2-deep.
  21. Watched Zips Football With Coach Bowden last night & was again impressed by how good the helmets look on t.v.
  22. So Indiana, the #1 team in the nation, gives up 5 goals? At home? Overrated?
  23. With that talent on our Defensive front 7, I'm shocked that I am worried about them. But I am worried about them. How could a 1-AA control the LOS? We didn't have many TFL all game. I can't imagine what Michigan is going to do to us next week. However, our team has come a looooong way up from the 7th ring of hell to which Ianello plunged the program. JMU is a good team. JMU would have destroyed Gardner Webb &/or either of Ianello's Zips teams. So, even though it wasn't pretty, I'll count beating one of the top D1-AA schools in the country as a good win for the current state of our program. Coach Bowden has us on the right track. I just wish our schedule wasn't so tough this year. Giving us the top 3 teams in the MAC West was putting us behind the 8Ball before the season even started. No EMU or CMU. Come on, MAC. I see 3 wins, with none coming over the next 5 weeks. I hope Bowden can keep the guys heads up. UCF - L JMU - W UM - L UL - L BG - L OU - L NI - L Mia - W BSU - L Can't State - L UMass - W UT - L Crossing my fingers for an upset of OU and/or Can't.
  24. Agreed. Pushing the game back to 6:00 makes for a perfect all-day-event. I met friends in the afternoon, ate at a downtown establishment, got to the stadium for the game. Great evening.
