  1. It did. I tried to get on simply to see what conference they are affiliated with.
  2. Since we need better guard play... more on Jeremiah Jackson. Massillon Independent POY. Again, no mention of any college interest, so Hilltopper's sources are probably correct about Jeremiah being a non-qualifier. Maybe he could pay for college for a year like Tree & Harney? [edit] I'm sure glad we signed Nyles Evans before the Abreu fiasco. But we only have him for 2 years.
  3. How would those of you who know more basketball than me explain this? Fluke? Was Michigan defending them schematically differently? Did we simply allow VCU to get into a comfort zone against us?
  4. Zipsrifle, welcome back! It's been a while. ^^^One of the nicest posters on the board.
  5. ^^^This is why I lean toward a basketball-specific arena. KD's been around the block a thousand times & I trust his opinion on this.
  6. Great picture. I couldn't find a picture where it's set up for hockey or football.
  7. Mark Few has no eyebrows.
  8. Zips Bleak Ending Shouldn't Obscure Bright Future
  9. I'm currently watching the Wichita State -vs- Gonzaga game. It's being played at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City - home arena of the Utah Jazz. It's a hockey arena, but the fans seem to be right on top of the action (unlike at the Q & at all other NBA arenas I've seen). Don't know how, or why, but it's obviously a design to look at. (With about half the capacity, of course.) [edit] What I mean by that is that the seating in the corners of the arena seem to be quite close to the court, whereas in the Q you're sitting about 40 yards from the court in the corner seats.
  10. Minor league hockey, arena football & indoor soccer would be nice. Unfortunately, Cleveland already has the Gladiators (arena football) and Monsters (hockey).
  11. I'd be interested in this as well. Off the top of my head: Various ice capade shows. Monster trucks/motor cross. Indoor soccer. Arena football.
  12. Maybe. But people love to extrapolate. One of my "friends" on facebook posted, "VCU just got introduced to Big Ten basketball!" He's not a Michigan fan. He's a Columbus fan. Here's how Joe Akron is going to extrapolate: Akron <<<<<<<<< VCU <<<< Michigan < Columbus = Akron <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Columbus.
  13. Obviously not ideal. But whatever it takes.
  14. Ugh. That's not 1350, is it? I hope that wasn't Akron radio. Trust me, don't listen to Cleveland radio. Screw Cleveland. Some will do everything in their power to maintain the status quo. I want more. This is exactly why I'm depressed & a bit ticked-off at our performance Thursday night. And right, there is absolutely no way he should be hosting anything UA if he uses his platform to denigrate what we're working hard to accomplish.
  15. FWIW, Chaifetz Arena (St. Louis University) is a basketball arena; not a hockey arena. Word on the street is that Coach D doesn't want a hockey arena; he wants a basketball arena. I'm not trying to stir anything up. I'm just keeping the conversation going. There are (at least) two huge questions in regards to a new arena 1. Location. On Exchange Street next to InfoCision Stadium -vs- on Main Street across from Canal Park. 2. Design. Basketball -vs- hockey arena. [edit] Chaifetz Arena - I'm referencing the arena mentioned in the previous post @ an $80-million construction cost.
  16. So... you're saying you don't like him?
  17. Darn. Walnut Hills lost, so we won't be able to see Isaiah on t.v. tomorrow night.
  18. I feel this guy's pain. "New Mexico beat writer rage-quits after Lobos’ unexpected loss to Harvard" I can relate. The losses are much more painful when you have expectations. Oh well, this is better than not expecting to win.
  19. Tree's great. Not only is he our best player, but our hardest working as well. Great combo. Due to Tree, I really predict the culture/personality of this team will evolve over the next two years. We're going to be the hardest-working, hardest-nosed team in the conference. It's going to be great having Tree molding our incoming freshmen into his image.
  20. I believe the A-10 has five teams in the round of 32. That's ACC-level NCAA success.
  21. (I posted this in another thread, but I guess it really belongs here.) I'm listening to the Walnut Hills semi-final game. As the game was just getting under way, the announcer had this to say about Isaiah Johnson: "To give you an idea of Isaiah Johnson's size, well, you just can't over-emphasize Johnson's size. It's not just his 6'9" height, but his overall frame is just ginormous." [edit:] This announcer also said Isaiah is 6'9", 300.
  22. Good idea posting that link. I'm listening myself.

  24. It was rather ironic that, during the very first commercial break during last night's game, one of the commercial's punch lines was of an American Founding Father bemoaning the fact his NCAA team had a freshman starting at PG.
  25. Good post, Zipsbandman. ^^^^^But I'd rather lose a heartbreaker, especially on national t.v.
