36-35 HALFTIME. Zips perfect 7/7 from the line. Interesting half.

25-19 zips, 8:00 to go in the half.

17-11 Zips, 11:52 to go in the first half. BG Can't handle the press, turned the ball over 6 times in the first 4 minutes (they average 14 a game). Zips look (or sound) good.

At this point the AK-Rowdies (and/or the athletics department) oppose the participation of:1) Any student that now wants to join the group2) Any one not having the correct T-shirtnot sure the status on non-students, but considering the above...things don't look good.Oh...and from someone that has sat in the seats with the rowdies for every game this season, i'd LOVE to see some loud fans (especially some kids/future students) join us. Thought about joining the AK-Rowdies staff earlier this season but thought work and class & those responsibilities would've been too much. Maybe my little "liberal" voice would've helped out...or maybe not. Things'll get better....GO ZIPS!!!

I agree with this statement except for two things:tonights game required some outside shots after some good rotation consistently failed to penetrate a stifling miami defense.jeremiah wood does not have an "s" on the end of his name. GO ZIPS!

The thing about Miami's play, it doesnt allow for much of a home-court advantage because of the slow pace. I'm guessing the game at Miami will be similiar, a team (hopefully the zips) will win by less than 5 points, and the total points will be under 115. Random thought: Went to Steak n shake on home ave after the game with two other Rowdies. We were all still decked out in our shirts. Waiter (not ours) had the ball$ to come up to us and wave his Can't State lanyard in our faces saying "this is where it's at." God I hate that school.

If i had to guess attendence....i'd say about 3,000 (+/-200).Ditto on Romeo. Maybe he was showing that fire in practice hence the start today? The last few games before tonight he just didnt seem to be putting out that effort, in a word, lethargic. Tonight he was hustling for loose balls, crashing the boards, taking the ball to the hoop. It was nice to see, I like our chances with a fired-up Romeo. I think I fell asleep at some point during the first half, despite my usual seat with the Rowdies. 23-23 at the half! UGH! That stifling defense every year, if Charlie C could string together some offensive talent, they'd be unstoppable. Speaking of Mr. Coles, that man looks like a walking skeleton. Despite that, it was nice to see him get into it with the students a little (as every year). One of the few coaches that lets us know that he can hear us. Overall a nice win. Ugly, but nice. I'm starting to wonder if the Can't game will sell out... Oh, and I know we have BG on the road on Sunday, but I'm gonna officially start off K ent State Sucks Week. Someone feel free to start the thread sometime this weekend

wait wait wait....we're NOT ALLOWING sign ups?!?!?!?!? wow...c'mon guys, get a clue. I'm sure it's not your choice, but fight the athletics department. Why would you turn away people that were unaware and now want to join (AND PAY!) a student spirit group that struggles with participation? Use logical arguments and they will (should) agree!!!

Amen, my brotha, AMEN! I'll be at class from 8:00 till 9:25 @ CBA so there's no way I'm making the meeting either. I'd hate to see us loyal folks that have yet to miss a home game this year (and even drove to OU and YSU) get frozen out for those folks that attend one game a year. Help us out, AK Rowdy leadership.

Dear Marketing Department:I just had a thought, a perfect way for you to introduce a fantastic team to it's home fan base. Beware, however because this will involve spending a small of money. Don't be afraid, it will pay much more dividends than your current strategy of doing absolutely nothing. That being said, I'd like to introduce you to one of my favorite movies of all time, Major League. I would like to explain one of my favorite quotes to you from the movie, as it's obvious that none of you have seen it because of your lack of general knowledge of sports. At one point, early in the season, the Cleveland Indians (that's right, the movie is about a team from CLEVELAND!) make a television advertisement to promote themselves. Now at this point, I'm sure your saying, "TV!!! We can't afford THAT!" Contrary, local advertisements are very affordable on cable television. My request is a simple team shot, lined up in front of the seats at the JAR with coach Dambrot holding a baskeball in front of a smiling team saying, "Hi, we're the Akron Zips, a lot of you don't know us, but we're a GOOD Division 1 basketball team." Looks like this game is over. went out for the night in downtown akron (paniniS) and tried to root for the bucks. Even cheered for that touchdown with the kickoff. I WILL NOT root for a team just because 'ohio state' is in the name. Kinda glad the gators won. Sue me. GO ZIPS!!!!

I don't. OU is pretty good. They match up with us very well and Saturday's game will be a war. I agree with cap. OU is a quality opponent (hence me making the 3 hour drive to lend my lungs courtside). Bubba is a "star" at OU only because he left Akron because he was 1) not getting the minutes he thought he "deserved."2) not willing to do what coach said he needed to do to get those minutes.3) there's no "I" in "team." Bubba would spell it "iiii."Looking forward to a close game saturday. I think the zips could eek one out with a lot of fans out of town for the bowl game.

Shows you how huge of a boost a win saturday would be. Sportsline currently puts OU tops in the mac with an rpi of 75. A victory from the zips would likely plop them inside the top 100 for the first time all season.
