The way that he worded it is ridiculous, but he's correct. The refs were "letting them play" which is what we ask for most of the time. This, however, affected Akron much more because of their accentuation on the inside/outside game. OU just had too much firepower from the outside and/or slashers. We shot fantastic, but the number of times our bigs got manhandled down low and turned the ball over didn't help. I'd say it was a fairly evenly officiated game, but man are those OU fans whiners. Literally every call made against there team and you hear this tremendous whooping crowd-wide groan.

With all due respect, there is no way that 7k of the announced 10k were Zips fans. Did you not look around when they were doing that stupid o h I o chant every 30 seconds? I will say we outnumbered Can't about 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 for the semifinal though. Sadly, I think the word "Ohio" pulls in more casual fans as well. Way more green in the building last night, and way more enthusiasm.

I agree with most of your sentiments, however I think it was more 60-40 ou fans last night.

Kd's actual words were that he expected Groce to get a job offer. He didn't say he would take it or that OU would need a new coach. This was the 1350 post game, didn't hear the presser.

On an interesting note...Vegas opened at Akron +5 and has shifted considerably in 16 hours to Akron +3.5. I think we're in for a good game.

This will be a mighty interesting game. I think one team is gonna come out of the gate and sock the other in the face. I believe the winner will follow the hot start to a double digit win. Hopefully it'll be the Zips. Early line from Vegas has the Zips getting 5. That's pretty respectable for a hostile arena against a top 50 team 1000 miles from home. Some friends and I will be watching from Barley House. Has the U sanctioned a watch party? Anyone else headed downtown?

CBS has the Zips as a 14 playing UNLV in Albuquerque. In a complete lack of MAC Respect, Yahoo (Rivals) has the Zips as the top 15 seed.

Bilas likes the zips. They appeared last week...around 58 I believe.

I actually thought the exact same thing...the only thing that remotely brought signs of life to the crowd was Tree's putback dunk. Granted...it was a boring style game. Zips really never got their best working...yet still won by 24.
