Got close last time with the Binghampton game...so here goes.Zips get great inside play from Wood and Bardo. Look for Mike's first career double-double, or at least close to it. Zips hit 65-70% of their free throws and a strong game from the guards, led by mcnees 6 assists and dials 4 3pt baskets, the zips win by a surprisingly slim margin.Akron 77Temple 73

In case anyone was wondering, 71-51 Zips, final. We should've won by more. It's nice to know we can play like crap and still win. I like McNees at PG, he sees the floor well and shoots well. Defense appears to be his liability. We could be set at PG for a good bit with McNees, Roberts and Steward. Wood was nearly absent as well. I think Bardo played maybe 4 minutes. It showed in the rebounding. Zips will be hard-pressed on the boards well into the year if Bardo doesnt show something soon. Overall a C-minus for the team. Team plays well and we win by 40. I recall at one point in the second half having 3 consecutive turnovers on offense. That's just unacceptable. We play like this monday and we lose by double digits to Temple. There appeared to be about 2,500 in attendance. Not bad for a cold night and crappy competition. Hopefully our smallest crowd of the year. I'd like to see 3-4k vs Temple. Everyone bring a friend!P.S. What's with people showing up to the game in Maryland gear?

Binghamton is bad but not that bad. Look for a competitive game for at least the first half with the zips pushing it out somewhere in the second half...I final margin on victory in the 10-15 point range.Zips 78Bingahmton 64

Missing some key components from last year, I'm starting to think KD is a scheduling genius. This is the PERFECT tournament for a team to figure some stuff out. Big-name tournaments wouldn't be so pretty. Hopefully we finish this one off and have a shot at Colorado State.

Not many shots of the crowd. They did close up on the students but it didnt appear that there were even as many students there as at the ohio game. i'm guessing it's a similarly sized crowd as the rubber bowl last week. Wednesday games in the MAC are attendance killers unless a team is really running the table.To sum it up, i think i saw a bunch of white sweaters...

The team has been stagnant over the past few seasons. It's a shame to see one of our longest tenured coaches out the door, but I like the put-up-or-get-out attitude. It's a step in the right direction.Oh, and the season is over...vb was defeated in straight sets @ EMU in the MAC tournament.

Maybe we can put this at rest after next sunday? If pittspuke jumps all over DA then we'll know...it's the advantage of an easier schedule. If not, maybe DA is a little better fit for this offense? I truly believe they are quite similar in overall ability. DA stronger arm, less mobility better decision making, Charlie more mobility, weaker arm and mediocre decision making. Wait till sunday.

I was looking for some information on hoops season tickets on gozips.com but the website still only lists packages for football. Is it no wonder we struggle for a fan base? There is an option to renew via ticketmaster, but nothing about new tickets...not even prices. Anyone know the cost for upper reserve this year? Is it still $175? I was looking for a group of "loud" fans that might want to join me up in those seats (former 'rowdie likes to yell ). Is there a way to get info on packages other than on gozips.com?

Let's look at the upside here folks...the zips have outscored their opponents 102-83 in the first half of games so far. Please dont tell me its a result of being "tired" any more. When teams like buffalo and temple shut you out in the second half it's a problem of the coaching staff being outplayed. Call me a butt monkey, but i'd love to see JD have one game where the opposition doesnt straight "figure us out" in the second half. Damn, it's frustrating to be a fan of any team in northeast ohio. Bring on Zips basketball.
