  1. Ha! Hilarious! GoZips, there was an old (late 80's?) rap group named Digital Underground that had their one hit single called The Humpty Hump where the MC said something about, "the image and the style that we're used to."Do the humpty, do the humpty hump, watch me do the humpty hump...White people...Samoans...Hands down, one of the funniest threads i've read here ever.
  2. (translation by Alta Vista)Um...What?
  3. Fourth paragraph into the scouting story was this:• Akron WR Jabari Arthur wasn't in pads but he participated in one-on-one as well as seven-on-seven drills. He was impossible to ignore, especially since he hauled in multiple catches during the seven-on-seven period. Arthur generally ran fluid routes and showed very good initial quickness for his size. Though he dropped one pass that sailed high and outside, he did a nice job of catching the ball away from his frame rather than trying to trap it with his pads.Keep it up, Jabari.
  4. Dead horse, folks. DEAD HORSE.
  5. "Bubba has one point...clap, clap, clap-clap-clap...Bubba has one point clap, clap, clap-clap-clap."
  6. The other name the rowdies were chanting was "reggie." I have no idea who this is referring too...
  7. 4,000 seems low to me. i would've guessed around 4500, but i've been way off before.
  8. Miami scores 70?
  9. Another tangent...Early line...Vegas shows Akron between -3 to -4.5.Tight!
  10. On a slight tangent....I just received a Zipmail today and it contained absolutely nothing about the game. Shouldn't this be mentioned? Afterall, this mail goes to EVERY student and faculty account. Anyone have any idea how/if we can get another one out before tomorrow?
  11. Ever hear that commercial that's on during Zips broadcasts? The one about the kid who "chose a conference powerhouse that assured him playing time" and the one who "went to a junior college that allowed walk-ons." I have a funny feeling that mr. johnson will unfortunately think talent alone is enough to land him a significant spot on the Zips roster. if he works hard...he could be a wild card.
  12. Can't +21.5
  13. The opening line in vegas has the Zips getting 5.5. I find that to be showing a lot of respect to our Zips, especially considering the formerly undefeated #6 team in the country just went in there and lost by 25. Thoughts?Akron 68UD 74
  14. After a quick scan of todays updated RPI rankings I notice the Zips just 9 spots behind Florida. The Gators are 12-2 playing the 296th ranked schedule. The Zips are 10-2 playing the 315th ranked schedule. The gators are ranked 31st and 32nd respectively in the AP and Coaches Polls.Anyone think the Zips would be sniffing poll points, let alone knocking on the door of the top 25 if these records were reversed? I sure dont.
  15.  Akron 79UIC 64Only question here is if we get free wings with our ticket stub.
  16. I'm leaning pretty strongly towards making the trip down there. If anyone else would like to carpool and split gas, contact me here via PM or look for me at BW3 tomorrow before the game. I'd have room for two more, 3 if you cram em in.
  17. Merry Christmas, all! It's been a good year in Zips athletics...and 08 is going to start out on a high note with a talented basketball squad. We'll be breaking ground on a brand new stadium and the football team is just a few pieces away from having an exciting (hopefully) last season at the rubber bowl. It's been nice to meet a few folks from the 'nation and talk Zips with 'em before and during games. Here's to a great 07 and and even greater 08. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a happy new year to you and yours, Zipsnation!GO ZIPS!
  18. That was indeed the final. Horribly officiated game, especially in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Oh well, cant complain much when we win by twenty. SHOULD HAVE BEEN FORTY! :D Bring on UIC...it's revenge time.
  19. This one's for bleacher bum.Zips 3,567YSU 8Off to BW3.GO ZIPS!
  20. Zips open as 16.5 point favorites. More than I would've expected.
  21. Wow, you're an expert. This subject is like beating a dead horse. Maybe we should just join the horizon league? I'm putting my trust in coach D, he obviously knows what he's doing. I'd be concerned if we were swamping these "patises" all non-conf season and then going .500 or so in the MAC. But we're NOT. Let the man do his job, he loves this school and the schedule will come around. You cant build a "mid major" power by simply scheduling powerhouses on the road. Each year we've taken a step forward toward that elusive ncaa berth. Could this be the year? Quite possibly. But you know what? If not, I have faith that we'll compete again next year and probably be even better. That's all you can ask for at this point for this program. Constant growth and improvement. Rome wasn't built in a day.GO ZIPS!
  22. I was gonna write this game up how I did on a couple previous ones, but I'm just a bit too lazy. Working retail this time of year tends to exhaust even the hardiest Zips fan. I did however look into the RPI a little bit. This would be a "Good" win for the Zips as NC A&T is 1-5 in Div1 games (5-5 overall) while playing the 36th ranked schedule in the nation. This translates to an RPI of 152 (SOURCE). Much better than the Zips current 175. That being said, I would guess this game will give us a better idea of how much B.S. is involved with the whole RPI ordeal. I'm interested to see some of the new fellas in there for some minutes, but I'm thinking there won't be much garbage time. I can't find a line for this one, but I'm guessing it'll be somewhere in the neighborhood of Zips by 10.Akron 79NC A&T 68Update: Just checked the Sagarin ratings and he has the Zips at 106 and NC A&T at 220. That's about as drastic difference as I've seen. Thoughts?
  23. I agree with the disagreement over eminent domain. I want this stadium pretty dang bad, and besides....look at the deal these folks are getting. $110-150k for those P.O.S. houses? They're all slum lords renting out overpriced rooms to students and poor folks. $6,000 in profit for 6 months? Come on, they'll just move south of exchange buying twice as many properties so that in a couple years the city will pay even more to get the townhomes projects going.
  24. Good win for the Zips. Looks like we just have Peay's number. (Is that number 1?)
  25. 2-0 zips, 18 min in the half.
