Good post! I don't mean to nitpick but Akron was a 15 seed in 1986 and the final score was 70-64. I don't feel you need to play as tough of a schedule as Miami did though.

I'm hoping Dayton has a bad game and the Zips have a great game, but I don't think that will happen.I predict UD 80, UA 65. If the game was at the JAR I'd give the Zips a good chance of winning, but at Dayton virtually no chance. I hope I am wrong though!Did anyone see that Can't has now passed us in the Mid-major poll? Last week Akron was 9th and Can't 10th. This week Akron is still 9th but Can't is 8th. Can't has an even tougher matchup tomorrow - #1 and undefeated UNC. I wonder what the point spread is on that game?

There has always been a "Big" Conference Bias. The only way to fix that is to play them and beat them. Since we don't schedule them that's impossible for the Zips. The Big Conferences generally refuse to play road games against OOC teams so that also helps keep the bias intact.The Zips only chance to make some noise this year is against Dayton. It's almost impossible to beat Dayton at home, lets just hope they will still be celebrating their 25 point win over 6th ranked and previously undefeated Pittsburgh.The MAC will again get only one bid this year baring a miracle, so rpi and sos don't matter anyway.

I agree and this is where I disagree with KD on scheduling teams that won't come to the JAR. I think we should schedule a couple per year if for no other reason then to get an idea of how good or bad we are. Plus even loosing those games helps your RPI - not that the NCAA selection committee looks at that except as a reason to put a big name school in with a worse record than a mid-major. Every year I am hoping the MAC will get more than the one automatic bid. Maybe this year will be the year? How long has it been since the MAC has had more than one bid? I think it was 1999.

I agree that Miami and Can't are the top two teams in the MAC. I'm not sure if OU is number 3 or if the Zips are at this point. Hopefully the Zips will improve with the addition of more bodies when MAC play starts.

Coverage will only get worse after tonight's choke job and the fact that OSU is in the BCS Championship game.

I agree, Akron won't win a game the rest of the season.I don't know why everyone wanted CJ7, he sucks too! Maybe CJ7 + CJ11= a decent QB.Well there is always next year.We still have soccer and basketball season is around the corner!

How many years left on JD's contract? I think if he doesn't do something next year, he will be gone. We don't want him as our coach with a new stadium if things continue as they have last year and this year. I just hope he doesn't have so many years left that UA will have to keep him for financial reasons.

We have a bad football team. Shutout in the second half, just a sorry performance all around. Hopefully next year we will find a qb who can play. Throwing it away on 4-9? WTF!

Why is all the talk about UA and CSU? Why not Can't State and CSU or even CSU and YSU? A YSU and CSU merger would equal a University about the size of UA. If you really want to have UNO, merge all 4 Universities into one.I don't see why any merging has to take place at all. The big problem is the state doesn't give enough money to the Universities in Ohio now. Merging universities into larger universities won't save much, except for some administrative jobs. Also it makes no sense to me to merge any two Universities that are 30 or more miles apart. From that perspective maybe a UA-Can't State or BGSU-UT merger might make some -very little IMHO - sense. I am against any merging though, eliminating CSU makes the most sense to me. Those buildings can be used by Tri-C and any students who need to complete their degrees can go to UA, Can't State, or YSU.

I got home from the Zips game and wanted to watch the end of what I hoped would be a good matchup - Mich vs Penn St.. I was very disappointed when I found it to be OSU blowing out NW.Later when I heard CH 5 cut away early to telecast this garbage game (everyone knew OSU would crush NW), I was shocked. I guess the only way to actually guarantee you will see a Zips game is to be at the game.Thomas' 'Big Boy Football' comment is terrible. He should not be allowed to write anything except for his beloved Buckeyes.

Any QB would look good against the defense the Bengals played yesterday, even CF. The Bengals had 0 pressure on the QB and I doubt CF would have been sacked either.I hope DA continues to look good, but don't be surprised if he looks bad when facing a real defense. That's the problem with DA he looks good one game and then horrible the next.

That is probably true, after all Indiana is a Big Ten Opponent to them. The only reason I don't want to see them is last week left a bad taste in my mouth. I just need an OSU free week as much as possible. Impossible of course in this area, but not seeing a sea of red and scarlet for one game will help.I don't care if you are a Bucks fan and a Zips fan. But last week at least one Zips alumni I know was wearing a Bucks shirt and I'm sure lots of others were too. If you are a fan of both teams it should be Zips first!
