If this turns out to be true, I may just renew my football season tickets.* If iCoach stays, I won't be renewing. *Depends on the new coach. If I disagree with the hire like I did with iCoach, I will give the new coach at least a year before renewing.

Maybe the team got a big head after the first game win. They don't look good today, but UA basketball usually gets off to a slow start for their season. Lots of turnovers in this game but at least from a foul stand point no issues with the refs like last night.

I have to agree with you about how much refs can influence a basketball game, it is the worst part of the sport.

This game left a bad taste in my mouth. Bad officiating, bad coaching, bad offense. No way we should lose to this team.

Looks like we stopped playing defense so as not to pick up any more fouls. This game is just horrible.

Terrible defense in the first half for Akron, way too many fouls (lots of questionable ones though)! Not very good offense either, I thought this team wasn't going to have these long droughts?

I'm not very excited about the upcoming season either and almost cancelled my season tickets for this year too (only 6 years for me though). I figured I'd give iCoach one more year but if I don't see a noticeable improvement I won't renew next year. Since the original reason I bought season tickets was to get tickets at the new stadium and support the university athletics, if I don't renew next year I'll get use my football season ticket money for better basketball tickets. I'm very excited about the upcoming basketball season! I'm hoping iCoach is the answer (if only because I don't want to wait for another coach to turn the program around), but I also don't understand hiring a coach - again - without any head coaching experience! I doubt if iCoach fails that he will be fired with more than 2 years left on his contract, so we are stuck with him for this year and next at a minimum.

I like the number of 96 for the NCAA tournament, with the top 32 seeds getting a bye. 96 is just under 28% of Div 1 teams (currently 346). Regular season and tournament champions would make the tournament. Sure most of those additional 28 teams would not compete to win a championship, but at least they make the post season which in football it is a big deal to play in a bowl game and most of those teams won't be a national champion either. I believe conferences should only be allowed a max of 50% of number of teams making the tournament (Big East would then only be allowed 8, not 11 teams). That way conference tournaments would mean something even to the bigger conferences. I'd hate to see the tournament go to 96 teams and then most of the extra slots going to the power conferences.

That's the over/under. Line is currently OFF. I'm dying to know the line, I have a bet with a Ken+ fan on who will be favored. Line is Can't State by 1.

It was like a layup drill for Can't for most of the second half. I hope we can get our "D" back for the tournament. Now the important part of the season starts Tuesday in Akron! I hope Akron gets to play Can't again in the tournament and this time beats them!

I agree with points 2 and 3, but 1 is difficult to agree with after tonight's beat down. I will have to see how the team plays out the season to see if I agree with you on 1.

I noticed we had no votes last week when Can't State was ranked. I'm surprised OU has votes still when they have an RPI in the 200s. I think OU is still getting by on last year's tournament run.

And to think it was tied at 10-10. The Zips offense was horrible and the defense was just as bad. Temple shot over 60% and the Zips around 20%!
