Toledo plays Can't tomorrow, so as much as it pains me to do it - Go Golden Flashers!

Is it football season yet? A year ago I would never have said that. The good news about this game is they played so bad they can't get any worse. Most years we play poor during the OOC portion of the schedule, then good during the MAC schedule so hopefully this will be a year like all the rest. The problem is winning the MAC and going to the NCAA tournament has little meaning when we just get blown out in those games. I hate having a team built for just the MAC.

Zips now 0-25 against top 25 teams. When will we finally win one? I hope in my life time! Losing is bad enough but I hate getting blown out like this.

Winning has worked for me as I will get season tickets next year after dropping them a couple of years ago during the iCoach period! I am more excited about next year's football than this year's basketball team.

Poorly played and almost seemed like a loss, but I'll take the win. Most wins in a season since 2007!

And now we are down in the game. Being 0-7 on third down has also killed us. The Zips just don't look inspired to play when the competition is supposed to be beatable

A second option is to set the DVR to record but start watching from the beginning at 4 am. That way you will get to watch the last part of the game live. It doesn't save you as much time as recording the entire game and then watching the DVR but it does save an hour and it lessens the temptation to jump to the end.

I agree it was one of those calls that would not be overruled if a touchdown was called either. Another game where we play down to the competitition.

I agree, but although playing better is nice I want to see another top 25 win. Or actually any win and especially one on the road.

NIU 30 Zips 9 First touchdown in nearly 3 weeks, missed extra point, and a field goal (plus at least one field goal miss). Zips cover the spread! They seem to play better in the big games especially on the road but better in this case is not getting blown out as bad as last week. Still waiting for 4 wins before I even consider getting season tickets again.

I voted yes more out of hope than anything else. I think he will either be a late second round selection or not at all. However drafted or not, I do believe he will play in the NBA someday.

Every other 12 seed won. Makes you wonder if we could have beat any of the other 5 seeds.

Based on Sagarin Ratings: OU 79.46+3.31 for home court = 82.77 Akron 81.57 82.77-81.57= 1.2 so OU is favored by 1.2 which is in line with the 1 to 2 points everyone on here projects. As far as betting on the game, I don't like to bet on the Zips but when I do I bet a small amount against them. That way I don't mind taking the loss if the Zips win and it lessens the pain slightly if they lose. <<<- We need one of these with OU on it!

They also turned the ball over like crazy and played horrible defense. That said OU is a much better home team than road team, so I doubt it will carry over. They also have a 19 game MAC home win streak going that I would love the Zips to break!

I think it is a big game for both teams and at the same time won't get either team to the NCAA tournament on its own. The real big game will be a rematch at the Q in the MAC tournament, assuming that happens. For Akron they must prove they can play well at Athens after being blown out of there the last two times. For OU they need to win to show they are the team to beat in the MAC as predicted in the preseason. Plus it will give them a big lift stopping Akron's 18 game win streak. I think this game will be close unlike the last couple in Athens, but OU pulls it out 65-62. Both teams will win the rest of their MAC games after this one so the MAC East will be decided via a coin flip! It might be a coin flip the Bobcats don't want to win however as chances are it would set up a rematch with Can't a team they have barely beaten both times they have played. I hope I am wrong in my pick as I'd love to see the winning streak continue all the way to the Can't game so we can beat Can't to take over the MAC longest winning streak record! Go Zips!

Good to see Chauncey get his shooting touch back. Hopefully his recent struggles were due to injury and he will return to his normal form.

Our next opponent is Western Michigan which currently is the highest ranked team in the MAC according to the CBS Sportsline Real time RPI, they are at 56. I noticed this because they were in as the MAC bracket pick last week even though they had the same record as Akron (tie breaker is CBS Sportsline RPI). WMU is also #55 on the Rivals top 100. In the Pomeroy ratings WMU is only 185 however. So it should be a good game, I am just glad we have them at home. Seems like we normally play the top western team on the road.

Chauncey does seem to be in a shooting slump, especially from 3 where I have not seen him make a shot in the last few games I have watched. He should do more penetration to the hoop for a while as that always seems to help get a shooter's mind back so he will again able to hit the three. But as a team with our size I still think we jack up way too many 3's. The team needs to concentrate on the inside game and only shoot 3's when a big passes it back out and the player is WIDE open. Even then a better option is to pass it back in to try to get the higher percentage 2.

I see we still can't hit the 3. We started something like 0-9 and now are about 2-13.

This is sad. I was watching ESPN streaming updates earlier and at half time one of the Chips fans said the second quarter was the first time all year they had held an opponent scoreless in a quarter and now they have done it to us twice.

Anyone notice they showed the Akron football stadium this morning on the Today show? The news was about telemarketers contracting from charities for business. It did not put telemarketing companies in the best light when doing this since they were receiving 75%+ of the revenue and less than 25% went to the charity. A representative of one charity said she did not have a problem with this however. My only issue is when someone asked one of these telemarketers (who I do not believe was InfoCision) how much the charity received the telemarketers flipped the numbers and claimed the charity got 75% when in fact it was the telemarketing company that did. InfoCision was highlighted in the story and the reason they showed our football stadium was because they said InfoCision is doing pretty well to be able to pay for the naming rights of a stadium.
