  1. That is very true . Miami was so tough for a long spell.. And even when they didn't have the greatest talent, they had tough kids like the Pollitz brothers that could frustrate the Hell out of a team. You had to keep the foot on the peddle for all 40 to take them out. I miss Charlie.
  2. Actually, Eastern has played a pretty good schedule. Their SOS ranking is at 63rd from 351 teams. By comparison, a few MAC teams reside in the bottom 50. the Zips included at 301. Elton may have had this one right. At least from the current eye test, they seem to be our biggest threat.
  3. Watched bits and pieces of all the games on Weds... Eastern was really impressive tonight in taking CMU down hard on the Chipps own floor. Raven Lee was on fire. Glad we don't have to go to their place this season but even here they will be a handful. Toledo looked really bad at Ball St. Their guard play is not nearly at the level it has been. In fact, other than Boothe their talent level at all 1-4 spots has slipped significantly. They got smoked. Miami is awful and BG is not as good as they were with Jans coaching. Both should be easy outs for just about everybody. NIU and Ball St both looked good. One thing for sure, the days of trotting over to Muncie and Dekalb for easy wins is over.
  4. Swear that I made my post before seeing yours. Didn't mean to steal your thunder. Too funny
  5. Thoughts... The Bull just keeps coming at 'em even when things have not been falling for him. This kid is fearless and has the nerves of a surgeon. Big Dog just gets better every game. That spin move was epic. I thought the biggest play was Jake getting the offensive board and kicking it back out to Reg for the 3 ball. Who dresses Steve French ?
  6. At the least, I expected some info about the hot specials at the Duty Free Shop. Damn, what a letdown.
  7. He's a freaking public embarrassment to any university that he represents. Most here are right though, ASU knew exactly what they were getting and getting a win or two over UCLA or any other PAC 12 team outweighs all other concerns.. The guy makes me sick.
  8. So does anybody have the straight scoop on Jake and Pat ? I'm guessing is green lights for both but would like to know if they will be able to go full tilt boogie tonight. Also.... There is probably more parity than ever in this conference this season. The perennial bottom feeders have taken a step up while most of the better teams ( Not UA ) may have taken a step or two back. Road victories are going to be even tougher to grab for everybody this season
  9. Thanks for running this again.. I's a lot of fun to compete with the fan bases of the other schools.
  10. That is total BS.... Humpty and Chris could both play the game and to attempt to discredit Ivey after just a handful of games is simply a low blow, Crawl back under your rock and stay there.
  11. Expecting this one to be fun to watch. Lipscomb gets scored on more than a fifty cent hooker.
  12. To any who doubt that the two wins in Vegas were of little value, UCSB went up to Washington and got a nice road win over a PAC 10 squad as a nine point underdog.
  13. It was very nice of you to drop in offering such nice praise. Thanks and good luck to your Aggies going forward,
  14. I did just that but here is the kicker. It is very rare to see them put up a line on a team, that has yet to play their first game , for their game on the next day. Not saying the Zips -4' is a steal but it's damn close.
  15. I thought that offensively speaking this was our best performance of the season. Shot it well behind the arc and worked it inside well to boot, Big Dog was simply a beast today. I am very pleased with this effort as UCSB is not a poor team at all.
  16. I am looking for a couple of really solid performances . The extra time off may have been a blessing to heal some of our aches and pains.
  17. Iona loves to run and gun. Defending? Not so much. It should be an entertaining game that could well play into the 160s
  18. Marla has done a terrific job covering our march to the final four. Big props go out to her.
  19. I'm diggin' this scene.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXmnmvDl-ao
  20. I'm afraid that this will require a 9.95 monthly subscription to view,
  21. Marshall assistant coach Chris Duhon was suspended by the university after being arrested for drunk driving on Monday. Duhon was charged with one count of aggravated DUI. He was released on $1,000 bond. According to published reports, Duhon was found sleeping in his car with the engine running early Monday morning. His blood-alcohol level was 0.20 - 2 1/2 times the legal limit of 0.08. Marshall's athletic department announced that the suspension was for violation of athletic department rules and policies. Duhon, 33, played for Duke's 2001 national championship team and played nine NBA seasons.
  22. We used to really enjoy the Marshall games when they were in the MAC, Back around '02 or so they had some really nice teams with guys like Slay and Blackshear who could really play. Their coach at the time was a guy named Greg White who could have on floor temper tantrums with the best of them. Always an entertaining night when they came to the JAR. Where have all the good times gone for the Herd ?
  23. I'll take that action if you wish ? The conference is down, we'll get our 20 and more. Last night was a deviation from the norm. When a perimeter oriented team is not shooting well then they damn well better defend. Against Coppin we did neither and on those nights we are ripe for the picking.
  24. Works for NC, I really like them http://www.nikeblog.com/2015/04/21/north-carolina-tar-heels-unveil-rebranding-across-all-sports/
