  1. I was thinking that the resisting arrest charge might be more damaging to Tree than the others.
  2. Last thread I start in this forum.... Pathetic. Have a great life
  3. I may be wrong but my guess is that we had better get used to playing without him. This is a pretty serious few offenses. He could do time, no?
  4. OU needed a big late run to get by lowly(0-8) Morgan St today. An obvious let down game from the cats today. Ball St is crushing UT Martin on their own floor.
  5. Thanks for that info Raider How about getting this thread back to the upcoming game and stop the earlier bitch session
  6. This kid was a major catch for MTSU. He's a player
  7. Thanks for the link Mama Zeke but check out Dr Zs link. I catch a lot of games there for free.
  8. Why would you care?? Is he somehow offending you?? What am I not getting?? For real, if you don't like his posts then don't read them. Dave is a solid contributor to this forum and I. for one, enjoy his posts
  9. I agree, there is some solid hoop being played here. Good luck to your Pengs !
  10. Another tough one. The Raiders only loss has been a double OT tilt with the highly touted Belmont Bruins. They beat UCLA. What once appeared as a possible soft spot on the schedule is going to be a supreme test. Not sure if we are ready for this team on their own floor.
  11. The Bulls have as much talent in their first 5 as anybody in the MAC, maybe more. PG and depth are their concerns but on a good night they can play with most anybody. Not sure why they were a little slow out of the gate but it would appear that they are molding into form.
  12. I don't think Bruiser's boys will win it,I came away pretty unimpressed from the one game I've seen them, but it was only one game. I think the winner comes from VCU, ODU, Mason and an outside shot to James Madison. Hump is on fire !! I'll always be in VCU's corner with one exception this season. You coming up to the Jar for the game ? If so, I can get you into a nice seat.
  13. Amen Cpt. You're preaching to the choir.
  14. Agree with Hofstra, I think they just caught the Vikes in a good spot. It certainly got their attention with the nice bounce back. I'm looking forward to seeing how J Mad fares when conference play begins. I also think that ODU has their best ball in front of them. The Colonial should be one hell of a dog fight this year once again.
  15. Did anyone see Valpo get absolutely destroyed by Ohio State yesterday? 80-47. Cleveland State plays one of our CAA brethren in Hofstra today. I expect CSU to romp since Hofstra lost Charles Jenkins to the NBA draft and don't bring enough back to hang with CSU. Even after losing Norris Cole to the NBA draft it looks like the Vikings are still very formidable. That's looking more and more like a chance at a marquee win for you guys. Marshall also managed to go on the road and beat Cincinnati 73-69 in overtime. Don't look now but they are also 5-0. Another shot at a marquee win. Don't be too down on yourselves about the recent losses, you guys still have a great shot at an at-large if you take care of business. 2 losses won't sink you. We had losses to some bad teams last year (Northeastern, Georgia State, and James Madison were all bad ones in the CAA, and the South Florida game wasn't a good loss either). We still ended up getting an at-large and did pretty well in the tournament last year. There's no reason to hang up your hopes for an at-large bid now. Still way premature to say anything about that. If you guys want to check VCU out there will be a couple of opportunities in the near future as we play #13 Alabama on ESPNU tomorrow in Tuscaloosa. We'll be going up against our former coach in Anthony Grant and they'll be making a return trip to Richmond next year. We also play cross-town rival Richmond (Sweet 16 last year) on ESPN2 on December 9th at our place. All of our home games are streamed on ESPN3 as well (we have a game against South Florida at home that you can watch there on Wednesday). We're very young and we've had some expected bumps as we started but we are showing some good progress and I really like some of the young guys we've brought in. We played in the Charleston Classic and lost to Seton Hall and Georgia Tech by double-digits, really showing our youth and inexperience. We beat Western Kentucky in the last game of the tournament in a game that wasn't decided until the final minute. We then had to play them again since we had them on our regular schedule at their place in the very next game. We played much better beating them on their floor by 23. It remains to be seen how much of that was whether we were good or they are that bad. WKU doesn't look like a strong team but we'll take the progress with a team this young. Alabama will obviously be a real test at their house. It's still early and I'm hopeful we can get things together to make a run at the CAA title in March since the league as a whole is way down from our 3-bid one last season. I don't foresee anyone from our league sniffing an at-large bid this season. I'm certainly glad we get a lot of time before we have to play you guys though. That is going to be a great test for our young guys! Watched the Bama game and think that Shaka is coaching 'em up pretty good. IMO, the Rams looked light years better than when I saw them earlier against S Hall and W Ky.
  16. Sure wish we could watch Luke for one more season. That kid is a flat out great player and a winner.
  17. Hopefully long enough for Deji to get some good playing time. He can only get better. When did we change our goal from winning games to developing players? Do we also hope that Zeke gets suspended so that Josh gets more PT? Of course not. But after getting a look at Deji, I am just not so worried about Wally Pipp I mean AA. Wow, do we need Rico back. Q tried his best but he's just not a 1 guard. He's so much better playing off of the ball.
  18. Still out of town until tues night. Ugghhhh. Have to find a pub with direct TV
  19. I think he'll get his credit very soon. In the form of greenbacks.
  20. Credit to the victors. They seemed to be a step quicker to the ball most of the night. After what we lost from last years squad advancing to the sweet 16 was not the poorest of seasons. I'm still damn proud of this team.
  21. Any leaks heard in ref to Rico's violation and how long that he may be suspended for??
  22. Good question. As young as we are now, I still see Nik as the guy. Down the road, I think Brian Walsh can be that guy. Maybe Rico too, he's already been a big influence on the PR pipeline with Bentancourt and has the fire to lead. Just needs to be a bit more heady on the floor. Ideally, the point guard would be the best position to keep things settled and on point.
  23. BS call in the box on the corner kick. Ref has no business waving off that goal. A foul occurs on nearly every corner made in every game. He has to let them play, especially given the magnitude of this game. A big BS on that one unless an obvious off side or hand ball that we couldn't see
  24. I agree, but with some caution and guarded optimism. The good news is that we are deep and very fortunate to have the ability to slip Q into the 1 position. I would love to see Walsh handle the duties but it's just not to be yet. I love our bench and that can be our saving grace. Also, the Beacon Journal seemed to not know that Detroit's very, very good forward Nick Minerath went down at the BG tourney with a knee and he's done for the year. Also, as I am sure that many of you know, Their center Eli Holman is suspended. He was the preseason pick for the Horizon's player of the year. Soph Bruinsma did a great job in Minnerath's place up in BG but the fact remains that Detroit's bench is very, very short on quality and bodies. That's our edge, even without Rico tonight. If I were KD, I'd run, run and run some more. Detroit has not been defending well and this will get into their bench. Playing slow in the half court would probably allow the Titans to stay close. With Minnerath and Holman, Detroit would have had a great team this year, without the two studs and on the road they should be defeated by 10+ pts
