If the MAC had an all defensive team as do some other leagues, Zeke would be a first team lock. As is, 2nd team isn't half bad for him and the case could be made that maybe the third team would be more appropriate. Either way, he is still one of the best players in the conference.

Voters in this type of process tend to follow one of three methodologies. 1. Vote for the coach of the best team. 2. Vote for the coach of the most improved team. 3. Vote for the coach of the team that exceeded the voter's expectations the most. Number 3 appears to be the methodology that most of the voters followed this year. For those who appreciate irony, these voters likely based their award not on how good of a coach the winner was, but on how badly the voter's preseason perceptions differed from reality.

One thing for sure: we would have the best football team in either the Atlantic 10 or the Horizon League.

As I watched Nitro shoot tonight it occurred to me, I wonder if he should have his eyes checked? I'm serious, his shots look like he can't see the basket clearly. Probably a little late to suggest an eye exam is in order, but it couldn't hurt.

\ Yes, that is my standard. You are correct about the lack of automatic qualifiers. Many of the top 4 (not 8) places in each MACC event met the B standard. Some of them might even get to go to nationals. Apparently you have a lot of company; nobody in the MAC is worried about their team at the NCAA level. I agree with you, if we were in DIII, we would be a factor at the national meet.

Unfortunately, it's DIII quality. Zimmer's time in the 400 IM was the only time Akron had that met the provisional qualifying standard which is way slower than the automatic qualifying time. Automatic qualifying times are great, her time is OK. Cross's time in the 100 back sniffed, but did not meet the B standard so her time is almost OK. The other times you mentioned aren't even close to the DI B standards, but they would be OK if we just participated in DIII.

If we were in DIII, our top young female tankers times would be very good. Unfortunately, in DI their times are NOT good.
