I was wondering if he is that good, or if the convo went something like this. KD - Hey guys, going to check out a recruit next week. Staff - Cool where at? KD - Uhhh, Vegas.. Staff - You said he's really good right? We should all go and help, right??
A recent sweet sixteen run, a ranked basketball team, a BCS trip, a player sent to NYC for the Heisman ceremony, 6 (I think) bowl teams last year.. If you can't market that compared to the previous ten years, find a new job.
Class B league in Struthers. Was Kuboff & Assoc. last year but the franchise turned into Ohio Glaciers. Somehow ended up with 8 or 9 D-1 kids for this summer's team, should be fun.
I coach over in Youngstown in the summer. We have a big lefty coming to UA next year.. 6'3" hits 90, Josh LaPiana. Rembielak is gonna turn them into a solid program, no doubt there.
I think Akron, OU, Buffalo and Toledo (maybe WMU) would be a good starting point for an alliance if you will. Not for the ACC, but maybe to make a better mid-major conference.
This is the impression I get as well. If JT gets it, he will basically be chief fundraiser/awareness.. and honestly, I can't think of many better to do that. As long as he picks the right people beneath him to manage the academic side, I can get behind it.
