  1. Believe the masses. Do a Twitter search of Kevin Cosgrove to increase the sample size of opinions you hear. Lots of reactions to Tom Deinhart's status about the hire. I went back to see if the reactions had settled down. They haven't. Nor have they been any less negative. http://twitter.com/#!/search/kevin%20cosgrove
  2. His track record is one of losing. Badly. Maybe Ianello figured that we couldn't get any worse, so why not just bring in an old coaching buddy?
  3. I think we might have just enough to have a BLUE vs GOLD game instead of O vs D. Maybe. As for QBs, it's probably going to be Nicely and Moore starting, with D'Orazio at back-up. Potts is at WR and our other QBs (Goodnam and Pohl) aren't coming in until the fall.
  4. Hearing the Zips may have brought in a late-signing JUCO DB. http://twitter.com/#!/JuiceManTV/statu...703595499601920
  5. We won on Tuesday and we got a bye. Imagine that.

  7. Statsheet.com had the lead at 100% safe at the 10-minute mark. So no matter what we do for the final 10 minutes, we will win. Send out the bench, KD.
  8. We're hitting them better than we do in warmups. This is ridiculous.
  9. So put Egner and Euton in for a few minutes. Or maybe that really skinny kid. We have tons of talented bigs sitting on the bench. They would probably all be starters for BG.
  10. That's because it's not. This is the team we're watching today, and it's a much more confident and in-sync team than the one we watched a month ago.
  11. A story on new Zips player Dajour Morris
  12. A meeting definitely took place Sunday. They're doing a good job of keeping things under wraps, though.
  13. Cosgrove has a great knack for getting his head coach fired once blowout losses become a regular occurrence. If you thought this year's D was bad, oh man are we in trouble next year. I honestly can't figure out why he was constantly getting hired by BCS teams.
  14. http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_17384607?nclick_check=1 Not sure how reliable this is. For one thing, Mallory went to UM, not MSU. For another, I can't find any other independent source to confirm this. I do know that he was at Wisconsin along with Ianello. He was also at Minnesota when Wistrcill was the assistant AD. His son played WR at Minny last year. he was a freshman. I doubt he'll come play for the Zips though, due to a medical condition that kept him from playing most of the season and probably ended his career. If true, it looks like ITZ was right. We went and got an "Ianello guy" and even a "Wistrcill guy". I'm tired of never looking beyond their little circle of failed coaches to find new assistants. Cosgrove may have been the worst coordinator in Big Ten history. Look at Minny's defense last year, when he was in charge. It was just awful. - Thanks to a certain Zips fan for the scoop.
  15. And what happened? The problem with another team in the MAC is someone might have to go. Lets see, who is the weakest team in the MAC... DUH Why would another team have to go? UMass makes the football divisions even again. As for what happened, nobody knows yet. The meeting took place, but no announcement was made. Not even a whisper.
  16. D-Rob.
  17. They haven't given up on us just yet. This is their latest song.
  18. Blake Justice goes for 50.
  19. Yes. A win on Tuesday gets us a bye. Are you sure about that? I think so. The tie-breakers are pretty convoluted right now, but a win over BG puts us ahead of them and since a few crossover games are delayed due to weather and are yet to be played, things are even more messy than usual. I think it gets us in, though.
  20. Yes. A win on Tuesday gets us a bye.
  21. Good progress was made last night toward getting it all together. There's still much to be done, however. A big, big test is Tuesday at BG. We can compete against the MAC West again, so how about the East?
  22. Another offer: CB Yuri Wright
  23. In case you missed it, before the WBB game they retired #24 Cheryl Bowles' number and put up a banner of her in the rafters. Look for it in the SE corner. She is the first WBB player in the history of the program to have her number retired. Gotta give Wistrcill props for getting this done. Now maybe we can get Dru Joyce or Jimmal Ball a banner back on the men's side. Also Kara Murphy broke the record for most career starts tonight. Taylor Ruper is putting on a three-point shooting clinic. At half time she has 20 points, hitting 6 threes. Lady Zips are up 41-28.
  24. Get there early. Really early. Due to a track meet, a swimming meet, and some other things, there is already no parking near the JAR. Women's game starts at 5. Be there to rep UA on STO. Let's do this! For those of you wanting to see the JAR renovated any time soon, realize that the more support and success that WBB and Volleyball have the more a priority that becomes for the athletic department. It doesn't have as big as an effect as MBB, certainly, but every little bit helps, especially when the pressure is coming from multiple angles.
  25. The MAC presidents are meeting tomorrow to finally make a decision on UMass.
