  1. The bracket is complete. 1. Can't vs (Ohio vs Toledo) 2. WMU vs (Akron vs EMU) 3. Miami vs (BGSU vs NIU) 4. Ball State vs (Buffalo vs CMU) The West should NOT have gotten two of the byes. It really throws things off and it's not fair to the better teams.
  2. We're just making fools of ourselves. Going in there and throwing out childish insults is not the way to do things.
  3. New offer - OT Kenton Playko
  4. Are we the ones trolling him or is he the one trolling us? Maybe it's a case of mutual trolling. Keep it up. This is entertaining.
  5. It's the only way to be sure. What's happening over there?! Gator fans hijacked everything. It's probably best to just blow it up. It's normally a ghost town.
  6. I'm not deflated. I'm angry. I'm sick of our athletes not caring about their own success half as much as we do.
  7. Bio So we have two db coaches now? From zero to two? Yes. And in return, it appears we won't have a defensive line coach.
  8. @ZipsFB: I would like to introduce Kim McCloud to the Zips Coaching staff (defensive backs). I am excited to have Kim on our staff! McCloud previously coached at Baylor. He played college ball for Hawaii.
  9. Good question. Good answer. My experience is that you need to be specific when dealing with people who effect change at a high level. You can't just ask "Why does this thing suck!? Make it better!" and expect them to be able to know what needs fixing. The problem is that he's been here just over one year and it takes more time than that to change the technology we use because it's too deeply embedded into the way our gozips.com is constructed. It requires a complete overhaul. The reason the Horizon League network can do what they do is because they set it up right the first time. We did not, instead choosing to use Windows Media Player as our content delivery system. We did take a good step forward by putting our recorded content on Youtube, a much more reliable and universally accessible system than what we had, but it just doesn't have what we need to stream games live. The way gozips.com is currently coded is archaic and convoluted (just look at the stream of junk for any of the page URLs and you'll see what I mean. We're using .dbml pages? Seriously?). It takes a change at the most basic level before we can bring in better streaming media.
  10. Good God. Everybody in here needs to see a shrink.
  11. Trade McNees for Cooper. That's worth a 30-point swing for the Zips in every game this season.
  12. McNees picked a hell of a game to ice cold.
  13. Dr Proenza details some new construction plans. Biggest thing is a new residence hall. No particular location is planned yet. It will be south of campus. He mentioned "southeast" or "southwest". Southeast would mean either Lot 9 or on Brown Street next to Memorial Field. Southwest probably means the location of the Townhouses. Also interesting to hear about a problem with the Memorial Hall demolition due to a bad contractor.
  14. Those stat comparisons confirm to me what I already thought: McNees doesn't do anything as a PG. Attempting more assists would lead to more turnovers. Attempting more steals would lead to more fouls. McNees doesn't do those things. Abreu does. What exactly does McNees do? He attempts shots, which is what a SG does. Some people see a player who is careful with the ball and doesn't foul, I see a player who doesn't pass and doesn't go after the ball.
  15. Honestly, right now all he needs to do is lose the short-term memory he carries through a game. What happened on the last possession doesn't matter now because the game has moved on. He dwells on past mistakes even as the game continues to move forward. Just play your heart out and live in the moment.
  16. I was under the impression that it was record against similar opponents or against the MAC-West. As I understand it, the first tie-breaker after head-to-head is the record against the MAC West champion, and the tiebreakers after that follow the records against teams according to the tournament seeding order. But in the event of a three-way tie, you break the first tie, then re-apply the tiebreakers from the top to break the two remaining teams.
  17. Honestly, nobody had too good of a game tonight. Even Nik made quite a few bone-headed plays. It's a testament to the team's will to win that we came away victorious. Buffalo is a tough match-up for the rest of the MAC because they are easily the most physical team in the conference. The Zips will need to play much better to win in Athens.
  18. On gozips.com's home page right now there's an interesting poll. Who is our biggest MAC rival outside of Can't State? The favorite, by a considerable margin, is Ohio. Miami is next, but has half the votes that the Bobcats have. It's funny, since I'm sure if you asked who OU's biggest rival is outside Miami they would name Can't State. Miami would probably name us second behind OU.
  19. Best case scenario? The Zips win every game from now until April. Doesn't matter what other teams do against each other.
  20. http://www.nunesmagician.com/2011/2/25/201...uiting-football I wonder how many times iCoach has to get beat by them in recruiting before he stops trying to steal their recruits.
  21. My sarcasm detector is going off. DiG might want to have his calibrated.
  22. You gotta record a clip of this and put it up on Youtube. Might have your next "awful Can't State announcer"-type viral video.
  23. The contract better have been signed. You shouldn't announce your schedule without four signed contracts in hand. There is probably a buyout clause, assuming they signed. But what does this do to our schedule?
  24. http://miamiherald.typepad.com/fiusports/2...-9-on-espn.html We're getting jerked around by freaking Florida International University. Either that, or somebody screwed up majorly when making our schedule.
  25. The biggest advantage to the other post-season tournaments is the additional practices you get. The players get more coaching, which would benefit them going into next season. The CBI costs money, but think of it as buying your way around the NCAA's practice time rules.
