  1. As I was walking through the Student Union during lunch, I saw a table that was having sign-ups to go to the Toledo game on a student bus. I think it is for AK-Rowdies only, and the cost is $15 which includes the bus, tix, and a new t-shirt. I signed up and I encourage all Rowdies to do the same before they run out of seats. We need as many Zips fans there as possible because this is pretty much the battle for #1 in the MAC.
  2. dude43, is he hurt or was he just taking the day off?
  3. The MAC as a whole is having one of the best recruiting years in recent memory. It is awesome that Akron is near the top of the conference. We still have a few scholarships to give out, and I hope we sign some good players. If someone is holding out for an offer from a "better" school, I hope that a player that actually wants to go to Akron takes the spot before the holdout gets a chance to sign. I would rather have a bunch of decent players who want to go here than a bunch of good players who regard Akron as second-class.
  4. Scout says we have offered him. Did we pull the offer, or is Scout wrong? Either way, I will be a bit dissapointed because he is a good kid who would be a great addition to the team. I wonder why no one seems to want this kid?
  5. I could have sworn that UA had offered him Maybe not. I'll have to look into this.
  6. You are correct. Non-Division I games do not count towards the RPI or the official record. Tiffin was essentially just a way to have a complete schedule. Those teams that backed out of our schedule at the last minute are really hurting us.
  7. No news just yet. I promise you that as soon as anything is known, it will appear on this website. These two guys are potential gems in our recriuting class. We will know everything in a week so stay tuned.
  8. Strength of schedule would be a nice addition.
  9. According to the RPI simulations, the best possible scenario (winning out with all previous opponents winning out if possible) would give us an RPI of aproximately 44 which is still only good enough to be a bubble team, and we would likely miss out because, unfortunately, the committee believes the MAC to be a 1 bid conference.RPI forecast Just click on Akron.
  10. I believe he is very interested in both Akron and Northwestern right now. Not sure on Illinois, though. Akron is an obvious choice for him, and he is interested in NU in part because his friend from Hoban, Tyrell Sutton, is the biggest star on the team. I really hope he choses Akron, more than other recruits. I have seen him in many games spanning his entire high school career and I can tell you that he is a beast on the field and you don't have to worry about his grades because of where he went to high school.
  11. At least this guy responds to e-mails, unlike some other people and departments at UA.
  12. An at-large bid would require UA to win every game for the rest of the season, and lose in the Conference finals, not to mention having some extra help like getting some teams we have already beaten to win out as well. In short: No, there is no chance for an at-large bid without several miracles happening simultaniously. or bust.
  13. Akron opponents' record last 10 games: 92-116Akron opponents' average RPI last 10 games: 179.8Akron average margin of victory last 10 games: 15.0 pointsAPU opponents' record last 10 games: 68-143APU opponents' average RPI last 10 games: 264.5APU average margin of victory last 10 games: 9.4 pointsNot trying to make a point here, just some info for discussion. You can never say which team is better until they actually play each other on the court.
  14. Awesome job on the dashboard. It's great for quick reference to all of the stats in one place.
  15. OU 91, Toledo 80 final. A win over Toledo would be nice for us. It is a must-win if we want to prove that we really are
  16. Zips up by 14. Man this game started to scare me a couple of minutes ago. We can not afford to lose any game for the rest of the season, especially not to EMU.
  17. It's Rivals, and they know nothing. They change players' ratings depending on who they commit to, so take everything they say with a grain of salt.
  18. I think the whole over-confidence thing stems from the Zips being near-invincible when playing at the JAR. If this was an away game it would be quite a different story. Oh, and thanks for the all of the info.BTW, if this does make it on to a TV channel people actually watch (not ESPNU/The Ocho), all you will hear about is Lebron, Lebron, Lebron even though he never played here. You will be sick of hearing his name by half-time. Just giving you fair warning.
  19. Where on Earth do you guys get your RPI rankings? Are you using the old system that doesn't count Home vs. Away games?
  20. The Browns do not need another QB. They need a line to protect the one that they have. If for some reason they did draft Smith, he would end up like all the other QBs who came before him: physically destroyed within 3 years. If the Browns draft Smith, I think I might stop being a fan.
  21. I doubt APSU will draw more than 4,000 people to the JAR unless the Atheletic Department has a few tricks up their sleeves. Maybe they could give away free tickets to everyone they meet, advertise it with TV, Radio, Billboards, ect., offer to pay for APSU fans to come here, and so on. With the Bracketbuster not living up to expectations, my hopes of getting 2 more games this season with 5,000 or more people is gone. OU will sell out, but that is the only one.
  22. That final score is just sad. Miami has to have serious problems if they almost lose to N. Illinois.
  23. I certainly hope that is true. I wished we had more home games earlier in the season last year. Having played a game already would benefit the team greatly when they go to Columbus.
  24. I want OU to win this one. I'm sick of all the Toledo fans proclaiming their vast superiority over all things MAC this b-ball season.
