The MAC's brackets have already been busted, but there are some good games being played tonight. This is the last real chance to raise the conference RPI and get some respect nationally. This thread is where we can post the results of important games, and where we can discuss our game against Austin Peay.Our game will not be a blowout. I know it would be nice, but AP plays a lot like Toledo and doesn't match up with Akron very well. Akron will probably win by 10-15 points but AP will keep it close until late in the game. I really wish I could be there, but I'm stuck at work with no ESPNU.Does anyone know if the game is being broadcast on the internet? Audio or video would be great. Either one will do at this point. Needs repeating. Ranking recruits is fraudulent exercise.That article above is a good read. There is no way to know how good any of these kids are until later.We just have to trust JD and his recruiting staff to know what they are doing and so far you can't argue with his results. The only thing recruiting services do is drum up publicity for students they happen to think are good. Recruiting those students will get us publicity, but results are something much harder to masure that what you see on film. We have a good group of kids that have already created team chemistry, which is an intangible no one can coach. I believe that we have some special recruits and I know they will make us all proud to be Zips fans.

Jupitertoo, profs like you are the reason I failed Calculus.Not really, but still... It really makes me sad when people hate thier employers this much. If you really are a prof, you must have a degree in something. Why don't you go use it in the real world instead of bad-mouthing the school your students chose to attend and the place you chose to work.

I agree, almost. This game will not help us in any way to get into the NCAA tournament. That is obvious to everyone here, I hope. What it can do is drum up some excitement for the fans, and get us a bit of publicity. Also, on the basketball side, it can give the team some experience in playing teams with a different style. Playing in the MAC for a long time will get you into a sort of rut, where you only play against certain styles. This game, along with the game at Duquesne will help help prepare the team to play different ways and find new ways to win. Winning the MAC tournament is paramount, but it never hurts to have a little bit of experience playing all sorts of teams, because you never know what type of team you get paired with when the tounament rolls around.

The NCAA finally got something right. Those "time-saving" rules last year actually caused more commercials during the TV games.Click for story.

There's no way we get an at-large. Winning the MAC tournament is the only way in. Then, if we get in, we have to put together a string of upsets and get to the elite 8 (it's possible). Get some media attention. Rinse. Repeat every year until we can get out of this conference.

Asst. coaches were trying to get subs in game earlier, but KD won't budge, what gives? I really don't think our subs are going to hurt anything, in fact they are like scoring machines at the end sometimes and KD doesnt like it because it runs up the score, yet.... put them in with 2 minutes to go? Doesn't make alot of sense when you are up by 20 almost the whole game does it? I agree. How can you expect those guys to contribute next year if they don't have any experience beyond the "junk" time that they play when there is no pressure?I think I have an explanation, though. Whenever Dambrot empties the bench at the end of a blowout game, the players start jacking up threes at every chance they get (not just Goddard) so they can inflate their scoring stats. I think Dambrot is looking for them to drive to the basket, play good defense, and play tougher all around. They don't have the same style as our main contributers, but I think that is what Dambrot is looking for. If they started playing with the same style as our starters, even if they are not as good, they would probably see more playing time.
