  1. So if Pat is out for more than a week or 2. Does a redshirt get removed off of one of the other 2 freshman? I know we used Kwan to spell Pat a little last year when Big Dog was down but we need another post player just to help take up some fouls.
  2. Agreed Skip. I seem to always be losing my Zips hat so I wanted to have an extra just to keep in the car. I was going to get there early to get my hat but since the weather wasn't terribly cold the wife said she would come with the kids (we were only staying until half due to other family obligations). I hurried her out the door and we got into the stadium a good 30 minutes before kickoff and no way were there 1,000 fans in there already. Why would you only do 1,000? They may need to switch to a voucher system if they are going to do that few and say you can term them in after halftime. Meanwhile at the soccer game yesterday for the t-shirt giveaway they seemed to have plenty left when I got mine 5 minutes before kickoff.
  3. Well that not removing Utomi's redshirt didn't last.
  4. First off, I would like to thank my parents for conceiving me. Next, I would like to thank Dr Z. for coming up with the weekly polls. Lastly, I would like to thank the t-shirt company that will be making a shirt to commemorate this glorious moment in history!
  5. Great win Zips!
  6. Forsythe 9 rebounds. Other starters 0.
  7. Wasn't Joe Dunn's son supposed to walk on this year? It was nice having Walters as a backup PG when Noah went down for a few minute. With Josh and Ivey out, Big Dog may have to play some PG as previously mentioned
  8. I wonder if they consider removing Utomi's redshirt if Ivey is out a prolonged period of time.
  9. I didn't realize Fowler was out. That definitely makes a difference.
  10. Starting a thread to discuss other MAC teams games this season. Central played 6 guys over 25 minutes, 1 8 minutes, 1 6 minutes and 1 1 minute. Surprised they didn't rest their starters more. MAC favorite Central Michigan struggled a bit with Alma College tonight. They won 79-64. Alma is a D-3 school similar to Hiram which posted similar record last year as both had 11 wins. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore?gameId=400841910
  11. They have women's basketball at that time. Maybe it will be on 611-1 the overflow channel but nothing is on the program guide at the moment.
  12. I hear the reason we got the top 4 seed was because we were actually called Ohio's Polytechnic University during the seeding process. The Committee got confused, hadn't read the Beacon Journal to know that it was actually the University of Akron, and therefore couldn't penalize us because of the AK-Rowdies. Kudos to the Scar for the rebranding as it got us home field throughout
  13. #4 side against winner of Rutgers/LIU Brooklyn http://www.ncaa.com/interactive-bracket/soccer-men/d1 Could face UNC for a chance to go to KC.
  14. Congrats NCAA for finally getting it correct with the Zips!
  15. Early signing period is now closed with all 4 players announced plus the previous discussion on Eubanks. It will be interesting to see what happens after the season to open up the 2 schollies needed.
  16. My goal is to get one of these correct this year. I'm no Johnnyzip84 but hoping to get off the snide this week.
  17. Antino averages double digits scoring and 4 assists a game.
  18. But he plays small forward and we have Jake, Reggie, Aaron, Kwan, and Ivey who can play that position. Do they burn his redshirt for 5-10 minutes a game? If there are injuries to any of those mentioned then maybe.
  19. Utomi has tons of potential. I see him as an all MAC performer before his career is done.
  20. Dickie V predicts Akron will come out of MAC http://espn.go.com/espn/dickvitale/story/_/id/14043262/predicting-2016-ncaa-tournament-field-68
  21. Went to the first Broadway in Akron show for the year last night (The Producers) and Mortimer stressed before the show they are committed to keeping traveling Broadway shows coming to Akron. Attendance was definately down vs the prior years probably do to all the media coverage and confusion whether the shows would go on. I would say it was probably at 60% capacity compared to typically 85-90% in prior years.
  22. I see lane on sideline and may be going in
  23. I listened to 10 minutes of pre game and they said we didn't have any injuries except those that happened in preseason
