Back in the US trying out for the Cavs D League team. http://www.cantonrep.com/carousel/x6616088...-Charge-tryouts

Doubt BW3 will have it. Try 3 Brothers Tavern in Jackson Township, right on Wales, same plaza as Buehler's. If the match is not on, they will gladly put it on. I may be there myself. EDIT: I am still pissed Massillon Cable has yet to add FOXSC to HD lineup! I might call Massillon Cable and see if I can add the Basic Plus package for $9.95 a month and do it just for this month if they can hook it up by Wednesday. I don't know if they would make me keep it for a year or something though.

Any way to watch this game online? I don't have the sports package on my cable and therefore can't watch it at home. Since it doesn't start until 10 I don't think I want to drive up to Akron to watch it at a bar. I wonder if BW's in Massillon would have it?

Did the bruising 6-5 forward Chauncy Gilliam have the hat trick for UMBC? Oh wait, he's on our basketball team now. -

Glad Tree the "terrible" free throw shooter hits 2 to close out the game.

I thought there are no free throws on an offensive foul?

Throwing out the T's now. Dambrot gets one.

I don't know how I feel about Q toughing out this wrist injury in the preseason. I could understand in the MAC tournament but in the preseason? I just hope he doesn't hurt it anymore. He is obviously favoring the left.

Zipsnation with a shoutout!

He hasn't been in much, the same with the Blake and Deji. I think Dambrot was fooling us when he said he didn't care if we won or lost .

He did not get in the game in a 70-67 loss to Canada. http://match.sz2011.org/pdf/BK/BKM001B04/B...C73.ENG.1.0.pdf

Doesn't look like Nik got in the game for Serbia's first win against Australia. Hopefully he gets some PT tomorrow. http://www.usabasketball.com/mens/worlduni...wug_box_01.html

The game against Carleton can be watched here on Tuesday http://www.ssncanada.ca/ Also it looks like they archive it to watch later if you can't catch it live.

We had 1 vote in 2006-2007 and 2 in 2007-2008. This was the preseason poll. http://www.gozips.com/sports/mbkb/2007-08/releases/1301292_1 -
Fifth Day of Preseaon Men's Basketball Practice
zippyfan34 replied to GoZips's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
We ended up making it and just sat in the upper reserved section since the baby was asleep when we first got there. We stayed until about 11 and KD was definately on the warpath. Good thing our son can't repeat what he hears yet. 2 players who stuck out to me are Q and his improved shot and I think Chauncey is going to be good for us. It's tough to make any accurate predications after watching 1.5 hours but with Chauncey's 3 point shooting that might allow us to redshirt Justice. It could be similar to Mclanahan's freshman year where KD plans to redshirt and if he feels we need that outside shooting punch he will not be afraid to burn it after the season starts. I think Blake can definately help this year but there are only a certain amount of minutes to go around. He is going to be a good one when it is all said and done. -

Fifth Day of Preseaon Men's Basketball Practice

I totally agree. Dambrot was even yelling at his staff for not getting on the court and being ready fast enough. He didn't want to waste one second of that practice. The highlight moment of the practice was when Abreu passed it for an alley oop to Egner for a slam. Also, the funny moment of the practice had to be Abreu vs Zeke. After one of the screens set by Zeke, somehow Abreu got "stuck" guarding Zeke while Zeke was posting up down low. Let's just say it didn't go well for Alex... I'll be there tomorrow and then head over to the women's soccer scrimmage to check on the stadium and how the Lady Zips look this season... Glad its open tomorrow. Bringing my wife and my son and he will get to see his first live action Zips event ever. -
Bradley has left Can't and is transferring to a junior college.

I know practices probably aren't officially open to the public but if I was standing in the upper level of the JAR watching is anyone going to say anything to me? I am looking for inspiration as I am working on a Zips basketball song for the coming year. I really need to see the new guys so I know what to write about them.

No question Akron. Even Akron's yet to be determined 2011 team would win. There is a huge difference of speed and strength between college age males and women. I would say it wouldn't be close. Maybe in 10 matches they might be able to draw us once.

I applaud the effort for trying something new to get fans in the seats for all sporting events and how flexible this is. AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron Department of Athletics and Rubber City McDonald's announced on Wednesday the launch of the "Zips All-Access 10-Pack" presented by McDonald's. This unique ticket package includes 10 vouchers, redeemable for general admission tickets to any 2011-12 regular-season home athletics contest for the Zips five ticketed sports as well as 10 buy-one, get-one-free breakfast or lunch extra value meal coupons at McDonald's – all for just $100. "This package allows Zips fans to supplement their season tickets by inviting additional guests to games, and offers families, businesses and community groups the flexibility to create their own Zips schedule to support all of our teams," said UA Director of Athletics Tom Wistrcill. "Those who purchase the 'Zips All-Access 10-Pack' can determine exactly which games they want to attend and how many people they want to bring with them. We are very appreciative of McDonald's making this offering even more valuable to our fans." The "Zips All-Access 10-Pack" presented by McDonald's is valued up to $200 for the tickets and the McDonald's offers. Vouchers must be exchanged at the Athletics Ticket Office for general admission tickets (based on availability). One voucher will be redeemed for one general admission ticket, except for the Can't State football and men's basketball games, which will require two vouchers to be exchanged for one general admission ticket. General admission tickets are available for football, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's soccer and women's soccer. All vouchers must be used for regular-season contests during the 2011-12 Zips athletics season. Those who purchase the "Zips All-Access 10-Pack" by June 3 will be eligible to purchase a ticket as part of the UA allotment to the Zips away games at intra-state opponents Ohio State (Sept. 3) and Cincinnati (Sept. 17). Fans will be eligible to purchase one ticket for each "Zips All-Access 10-Pack" purchased (maximum of four). The "Zips All-Access 10-Pack" presented by McDonald's, can be purchased online anytime at GoZips.com/tickets, or from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Mondays through Fridays by either calling 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) or visiting the Akron Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets). Rubber City McDonald's operates 20 locations in northeast Ohio, including one at 246 East Exchange Street in Akron within walking distance of the Zips athletics facilities and ticket office. "As an alumnus and longtime supporter of the University, I have always loved the Zips," said John Blickle, president/owner Rubber City McDonald's. "We know this will be a great partnership to promote McDonald's and Zips Athletics and add value to our customers and fans."

Desmar Jackson, Wyomings leading scorer from last year is transferring to Southern Illinois. http://siusalukis.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl.../041311aad.html Jackson went to Harding not St. V's. Daylen Harrison went to St. V's but I can't find where he is transferring.
