I agree. I would love to see an article in the Akron paper about coach Milwee and the state, and philosophy of the offense. He is one of the youngest coordinators in college football, coach Bowden believes in him, show us fans why we should. Where does he see the future of this offense going? Is he happy with what is going on? Give me some inside offensive information on one of the Zips biggest upsets (@Pitt) in Akron history. What's going right, where does he feel he can improve? What recruits is he most excited about for next season? I wish it was the Zips local reporter's passion, but he seems too busy. He needs some help from someone who is passionate about the team. Personally, I think someone in UA marketing should be addressing the situation. They need to work together, because whats going on is pretty disappointing. If someone is not seeking out good topics you need to spoon-feed them. It's sad, but true. Most publications are looking for information, and will be happy when good stuff is provided. If you are providing good information and it's not getting printed, that's a bigger issue.

NR14 had better learn how to effectively get through a simple pick play, or I see a lot of open looks for the Zips opponents. The team I watched last night does not have the look of an NCAA tourney team so many ZN members are picking. I liked some of the ball movement I saw, now we just need someone hit a shot.

That article was written yesterday afternoon. I checked the Buffalo weather yesterday too. He was correct, it was calling for miserable weather. The forecast changed. You'll see that a lot when fronts are moving into an area. I think it plays to our advantage. See last week.

EA writes about the game tonight...and makes a lot of the same observations some of us have been writing about. The season-long question is why the Zips practically refuse to run, even with a pair of veteran tailbacks in senior Jawon Chisholm and junior Conor Hundley. Akron is averaging just 121.6 rushing yards, but Chisholm is averaging 5.0 yards per carry (388 yards, 4 TD) and Hundley is at 5.6 (455 yards, 3 TD). In Akron's 27-10 loss to Bowling Green last week, the Zips paid the price for throwing the football too much. Meanwhile, the Falcons dialed down their passing game in the inclement weather and had two players rush for over 100 yards each instead. For the second straight week the Zips will have to face tough weather conditions. Temperatures are expected to drop near freezing by game time with the possibility of snow. Last week the Zips faced high winds and rain, and combined with their turnovers led to defeat. The miscues have come in just about every form, led by interceptions by a pair of quarterbacks, incumbent starter Kyle Pohl and backup Thomas Woodson. But blocked punts, blocked field goals, fumbled punts, fumbled receptions and fumbled center snaps have all come into play as well. ​Get it together guys! Tighten up the offensive game plan, and stop turning the ball over. Offensive line, start pushing some people around! Sidearm sports is streaming the Akron vs Rochester game tonight.

I can't predict this team. Too inconsistent. The Zips defense needs to do a better job than we did up front against BG and Ball State. They need to stop Anthony Taylor. UB goes as he goes. UB's defense gives up tons of points, so hopefully our offense is sharp. I hope I'm wrong, but I have a pretty good idea what plays our offense will run. Hopefully the forecast changes, right now it looks like there is a 50 percent chance of rain tomorrow evening in Buffalo. Seems like great weather for some more run and shoot (yourself in the foot). Personally, I would like to see the 12 personnel package run more tomorrow. We ran it successfully on occasion in the beginning of the season, but seemed to go away from it after our bye week. I think it fits our talent better. Not perfectly, just better.

So increasing attendance by thousands, and helping pay for a kids education is "lame" and "juvenile"? You will have to convince me of that. You don't have to convince me that we need some focus on the offensive side of the ball. I'll give you that one. If UA marketing had a crystal ball, they could of had black Z ponchos instead of the shirts. They could still order them and sell them (minimal charge) at the little stands by the entrances for fans that aren't bright enough to look at weather.com before they go to an outside sporting event in NEO in November.

Someone wrote the same thing about the Zips receivers before JD showed up, then he changed a DB into an NFL receiver, and a backup QB into an all american wide receiver. He also coached not one, but two Biletnikoff award winners. The dude had a knack for finding receivers on a roster, and I'm sure he could make our receiver corp better, whomever he would come up with at the position from our roster. Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Andre Jones also. He switched him from free safety to receiver.

I disagree. You are giving BG way too much credit. UMass scored 42 on them, UB scored 35 on them, hell W. Kentucky put up 31. Any of those terrible team's offensive outputs beats them Tuesday night. The Zips made their defense look decent. Marshall would beat us 9 of 10, I'll give you that. The Herd is the most talented team I have seen play at Info this year. If our run and shoot offense doesn't have to play in bad weather we beat BG. Sadly for that concept, we need to play in Alabama, not NEO since the weather is always a factor come Nov & Dec. I agree with Keener, bad night on the defensive side of the ball. Can't blame the weather there. BG was in a lot of good down and distances on 2nd down, we were not. The Zips did a poor job of stopping the run when facing the ONE HUNDREDTH ranked QB in FBS!?! Hint, stop the run and force a crappy QB into bad situations...we did it against Pitt. I love our pass rush when it's third and long. Unfortunately it takes two successful downs for the Zips to get them in that situation. BG's play calling allowed them to succeed on third down. I would strive for that if I were calling plays for Akron. Especially in bad weather. PS I was having a discussion with a Zips fan last night, he brought up an interesting point. Not that it will ever happen, but don't you wish Brookhart were coaching our receiving corp?

I agree, I have been waiting for some kind of play action over the top type of throw. I'm just not sure who can execute it. Other than the underutilized D'Orazio, I don't have much faith in our skill players on that side of the ball. Spider two y banana!!!

Can you explain "came to win" to me, and explain the plays that you would have like to seen repeated, but were not? We run the same offense from the start to finish. Always do. I could tell you what part of the field to defend once I saw our alignment. I think BG also had it figured out.

Poor blocking indeed. Every offensive snap will not be perfectly blocked. Taking a sack in that instance was the proper thing to do. I'm just happy #7 didn't get hurt diving on the ball.
