A lot of discussion has already transpired about this game. I thought we needed a dedicated topic due to early popularity. Seems like some nice tickets can be had for around twenty bucks on stubhub. I really wish they would announce the time of this game so I can make some official plans. I know I'm staying dahntahn that night. I wonder if the Zips were one of the three teams to call on Coles? Thin, or loaded backfield for armPitt?

Vegas usually doesn't offer FBS vs FCS lines, try Canada or offshore. Not a good game to bet on IMO.

Police believe he passed away from an undetermined medical issue. Bitsko's final, poignant tweet: Baby Elephant @isthatbitskoFollowThere are 86,400 seconds in a day. Make sure you use one of those to thank god for everything you have #stayfocused 1:55 PM - 14 Aug 2014

Union President asks James to step in “I have asked you numerous times to meet with me and our forensic accountant to discuss some of these issues. You have continually ignored my request, with a response that ‘we are close,’” Burden’s email to Tressel says. “I now ask you, close to what??? I stuck my neck out to endorse you as YSU President, but right now, I must say that I am feeling quite disappointed in what I see as a lack of effort to stand behind your faculty. If there was ever a time to step in and get faculty behind you, it is now. Please help me to help them.” Agreement reached

Impact Rookie in the Steel City? "Archer has had a big-plays of forty-plus yard receptions in each game this season. According to our notes, he's the only player in the pre-season with two plays of forty-yards or more, in 2014." I totally agree, but Shazier looked the part Saturday night. He doesn't seem like your typical Columbus State NFL'er to me...like Mike Adams . EDIT: Gilbert’s signing likely means Adams does not have a long-term future with the Steelers.

George Thomas of the Beacon Journal writes: (click on link for full article) Although coach Terry Bowden and his staff haven’t released their first depth chart of camp, the offensive front five look to have the explosiveness and strength to challenge any of their defensive counterparts. “We’re still mixing and matching and changing guys,” offensive line coach John Peterson said. “We’re going to need more than five guys for the season, so we’re trying to create depth. That’s probably the area we’re concentrating on the biggest is to get guys game ready.” The problem is they can’t mix and match enough, at least not right now. Injuries are taking their toll as the Zips prepare for the season. “We can’t hardly get things accomplished by having too many players that are going to play but they’re not practicing. That’s been a problem,” Bowden said. Bowden preferred not to discuss the injuries in detail. Zips fans are invited to the team’s intrasquad scrimmage beginning at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at InfoCision Stadium.

From DEJAN KOVACEVIC: "Paul Chryst advised me before Pitt camp to keep an eye on Todd Thomas, and the coach needn’t have bothered. No. 8 has been impossible to miss. The senior linebacker out of Beaver Falls, once among Tom Lemming’s No. 68 prospect in the nation, has stepped up more than anyone on the South Side these past two weeks. And he’s done it with a snarl, too: On one 11-on-11 drill Thursday, he leveled — and I mean leveled — two blockers. And as those blockers were reeling on the ground, he let out a loud, primal scream. Good for Thomas, because the Panthers will need him to be a lot better than their fourth-leading tackler, as he was a year ago."

I'm assuming CK meant the "berth" to the Championship game. Seems like a fun goal this year. Mid-American Conference Championships 2014 Schedule Friday December 5th Ford Field

Nov 4th against BG, per the color of the ticket. I can't wait to see the solution to the obvious question.

Thank goodness I was at that game, and didn't have to listen to that! I really hope Reghi gets promoted to another market this year. He is really good.

Thread on Dri has been started here. Plenty of opinion posted. Always fun to look back. The video highlight is a good indication of the potential I observed when he played the Zips.

SiriusXM Lifetime Subs & iPhone/iPad access

This may apply to only one or two people, but if they read it, and can take advantage, it will be worth the post. I'm a pretty big sports and music fan. More than a decade ago, I decided I had had it with normal radio, same normal music, and the sports coverage and discussion all but deteriorated. I bought a lifetime subscription to Sirius radio. I have been fairly satisfied throughout the years. While the product is excellent, they may have the worst customer service department on this planet. I have always had "free" internet access to channels and the on demand stuff (which is cool), but if I downloaded the app to my iPad or iPhone and entered my password it indicated that you need to upgrade your subscription. I think it's an additional $4 a month with a subscription. I really didn't care to spend more. Turns out, you don't have to. If anyone is in my exact situation, here is how to get your app working without an additional charge. Apparently the app does not work with "simple" passwords. A decade ago it was fine to use a password "abcdefg", now you should be using caps and numbers for security. I haven't logged into my account in years, because I had no need. If you simply log on to your account (not the internet player) from a browser, you will be prompted to change your password to a stronger one if you had a simple one. After you change to a stronger password, go back and enter that on your iPhone or iPad app...full access including all sports packages (MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL/NCAA). I found this "loophole" buried in a forum while searching for something totally different for a friend. This only applies to the subscribers that took advantage of the "lifetime" subscription a decade ago. They don't offer this anymore. I know this works for more than me, because I know two other people that have taken advantage since informing them.

I nominate Nick Swisher. Then I can watch Tribe games again.

Good point, great quote.

I wrote earlier in this thread, that LBJ is a bigger man than me. I couldn't work for a guy that has the decision making skills that Dan has previously displayed. Although a real apology would go a long way in my book. I will forgive, if you really mean it. I would hope someday, LeBron reveals the tone of the apology meeting they supposedly had. While I am thrilled that LBJ is back, I won't be throwing, or attending any party themed "welcome back LBJ." I will watch more NBA this year than the last four combined. I like my 2010 prediction of him leaving a situation and not realizing how good he had.

You are able to do it yourself. “There's two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down. You got your talkers and you got your doers. Most people are just talkers, all they do is talk. But when it is all said and done, it's the doers that change this world. And when they do that, they change us, and that's why we never forget them. So which one are you? Do you just talk about it, or do you stand up and do something about it? Because believe you me, all the rest of it is just coffee house bullshit.”― David Della Rocco
