  1. With LBJ returning to the Cavs, Dan Gilbert and the rest of the club’s staff has to be giddy. Beyond whatever the contract amount winds up being, the Cavs and Cleveland are about to recoup his prior loss, and then some...When LeBron left Cleveland it has been estimated that the City of Cleveland had an economic loss of $50 million a year. Forbes writes how much $$$ LBJ could mean to the city. Saving GP1 time.
  2. James has agreed to a two-year, $42.1 million deal with the team with the goal of re-signing with the Cavs before the 2016-17 season when a new television contract is expected to create a large jump in value of the maximum. As part of the deal, James will have an option to become a free agent next summer but is fully committed to the Cavs long term, sources said Dwyane Wade says he is sad to see LeBron James leave the Miami Heat, and he supports him regardless. Wade released a statement Saturday calling James "my brother," and saying he knows James' decision to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers was not an easy one for the four-time NBA MVP.
  3. I like it PS Nice rendering too.
  4. Even Charles Barkley was impressed with the way James made the decision, via an essay on SI.com, that explained how he wanted to return home and bring a championship to the city of Cleveland. A native of Akron, Ohio, James spent the first seven years of his NBA career with the Cavs, taking them to the NBA Finals in 2007. Source. "...the letter was brilliant on his part, he might be the most loved athlete in the world" Classic video for the bandwagon haters. The labels on the ashes in the fridge are the best!
  5. Biggest day in Cleveland sports history in my life...odd. David Blatt, the luckiest coach in the world. Can't wait to listen to the LBJ haters backtrack. Loved the SI article, well written. Interesting he didn't give it to ESPN. Even Pittsburgh sports writers were rooting for Lebron to end up back home. Vegas now favors the Cavs to win the NBA title at 4:1 !?!? Love that he didn't let the Cavs or Heat know first. "James, his agent and advisors deeply considered how they wanted to release the message and decided they didn't want to make it about the Cavs or the Heat but about the people of Ohio. James wanted to tell them first, sources said." Dan Gilbert apologizes for letter written after LBJ took his talents to Miami. LBJ, bigger man than me. Manziel posted (I think he took it down, but they are airing it on ESPN) a photoshopped image of he and LBJ doing the money sign. Please LBJ, keep your distance from this tool.
  6. Romeo's Mom is classic!
  7. Oldie, but a goodie put up today after his Miami Heat meeting. Guess who is in Vegas with LBJ?
  8. Does this help explain your NFL draft quote JZ?
  9. Celtics acquire a center.
  10. Pitt sophomores Tyler Boyd and James Conner were named to watch lists for the Maxwell and Hornung college football awards. Boyd and Conner are leaders at their positions, but incoming freshmen Adonis Jennings at wide receiver and running backs Chris James and Qadree Ollison arrived with plenty of accolades behind them. “They all can contribute (this season),” Conner said. Boyd said he has been impressed by what Jennings has shown in informal workouts.“(He) came out just like me in high school, four-star, top-notch receiver. His ball skills are good, his hands are good, his routes are good. Everything is good. Looking forward to this game! Eat them up, eat them up....
  11. "Can't wait to give my all to this team and help get Akron football back on top."
  12. Can we hire a real photographer to have proper images for marketing this?
  13. I went from watching no futbol, to watching more futbol this year than NBA and MLB combined!?!? Predicting outcomes of the World Cup is as easy as Zips basketball with Dambrot.
  14. Janoris Jenkins would be a great example of a similar situation where coach turned lemons into lemonade. Here's to hoping.
  15. With the new all you can eat rule being passed by the NCAA, we need to up our food budget to move among the top of our conference.
  16. Some ZN members paid under forty cents for both a pack of cigarettes, and a gallon for gas once. Times change, and markets adjust. Clicking on ohio.com always seemed too expensive (my time) too me anyway. I wonder if anybody will figure out how to charge by the time used, and provide content that you actually would want to use.

  18. Done. Just a reminder, the search function is a nice feature to find older threads if they disappear on you.
  19. Good spot for it. In his wife's bar, wearing his wife's hose (how Joe Namath of him). Maybe he'll play pro ball close to his wife's home town again.
  20. I have never watched a full World Cup game in my life, and have only watched two Akron games (Zips never scored). I have probably watched 5 full World Cup games this year, and 5 more partial games. Like I always say, if you want to learn about a sport, bet on it. I took my own advice and joined a Fantasy World Cup poll. I like the way the World Cup is set up, with the groups and the elimination round, like Olympic hockey. Will I watch another futbol match between the end of this World Cup and the next one? Probably not, but Friday night, I started watching the Honduras Ecuador match. At half time I switched channels to watch the Indians game, I got bored and turned back to the futbol match because it was more entertaining. Surprised myself. PS I'm slowly accepting players faking like they are in critical condition for 30 seconds after they trip over someones foot. It's hard though.
  21. I agree, hope the Zips do him proud when they don his gear.
  22. New look.
  23. I like your thought process QZ. I would guess the coaching staff's priorities differ. Like everyone else, I really hope that the PG situation is polar opposite from last season. I also hope some "veterans" take it upon themselves to up their work habits away from practice time. We will be good in the Mac, we need to be great.
  24. Thanks ZG, I have also found it locally now. As promised will soon have some sort of beer report from Amsterdam/Germany/London. Lots of catching up to do with other stuff first. Short report, Amsterdam exceeded my expectations, Germany met my expectations, London fell short of my expectations. Quick crummy photo from my phone. Better photography soon. London Pride was one of the good ones I had in London. PS I never understood how Heineken was the third largest brewer in the world. I do now.
  25. Thanks for the post JZ, was anything mentioned about the 3-4 defense?
