  1. Doug Archie wrote the story first, no need for Evans. If there is some hard proof of Oklahoma State doing something wrong, and the staff knows about it, and does nothing, then they should go down the same. Precedent has been set.
  2. Interesting listen. Whitlock's opinion on Thayer Evans Thayer Evans Wiki page deleted I wonder if SI continues to run the other parts to this "hard hitting story" by Evans?
  3. More advice for those of us traveling to Ann Arbor. Definitely get to town early enough to tailgate. If you want to set up on your own you can either go to the golf course south of the stadium or Pioneer High School. Both provide big tailgate atmospheres. If you just want to walk around and experience things, you can always find parking in yards in the neighborhoods around the stadiums. I would recommend going to Zingerman's Deli if you want a kick ass sandwich. After the game hitting the bar scene on Main Street will be a nice reprieve from the student population which mainly hangs out on the campus bars up and down South University. Two personal recommendations if you do wander down to campus are Ashley's, one of the best places to find a wide selection of beer that I've been to, and The Brown Jug, which is a really great college bar and one of my favorite places to hang out and drink after games. If you're looking for food after the bar, be sure to grab a burrito from BTB (formerly Big Ten Burrito). You will be glad you did. Source PS This is the second place I have seen Zingerman's Deli recommended. UM grad told me to expect a wait, but it was worth it. Menu pdf (click here).
  4. In. See you guys there. Some info from a Michigan fan:
  5. I think your missing the topic of the original post. Faking an injury to draw a penalty, not bad calls by referees. All sports have bad calls, I think we can all agree to that.
  6. Thanks. I should be able to take a nice photo from my row.
  7. What rows are Akron's?
  8. Aren't Zip fans in section 8? There are 87 tickets in that section starting at $28.
  9. That was a projected score. Actual odds are +37 with an O/U of 56.5.
  10. I bought tickets off of stubhub, but there is a UM fan forum claiming there will be tons of tickets available up to game time for cheap. So if the price of the ticket has you scared, it sounds like it shouldn't.
  11. Invisible on this list.
  12. Hirschman not listed, Pohl listed as probable. Side note: Dri Archer listed as questionable.
  13. I'm with DIG on this one. Rubs me the wrong way. NHL has it right, it's a penalty if you act a fool. Deceiving may be part of the game, getting away with it is the issue.
  14. Works for me (Safari).
  15. Source: OddsShark #17 Wolverines #92 Zips Handicapping models projects 62-17, UM over UA. Betting Line: Michigan were sitting as 35.5-point favorites earlier in the week at Bovada . The total was to be set a bit later in the week for over under betting purposes.
  16. Our QB's got "banged up" against JMU. Should we have not played them in preparation for Louisiana-Lafayette?
  17. Best team in the B10, Michigan? Kiper and McShay debate. (must have in subscription to read) PS Columbus State honks, please save us your comments for bucknutz.com. This week is about Michigan vs Akron. The read is intended to familiarize Zips fans with the team they are playing this week. Here is one nugget: The interior of Michigan's offensive line is young and needs to improve -McShay
  18. We haven't won much recently, if we don't get excited when we win, when can we? Good luck the rest of the season, hope all the calls go your way from now on. PS These are the types of threads I think about during basketball season when the same Zip fans complain about the refs. Reads bad, doesn't it?
  19. Hirschman received plenty of help from teammates. Andrew Pratt (Green), grabbed a 68-yard touchdown pass on a fly pattern down the left side of the field where he made a tremendous adjustment to go up and get the ball. Hirschman injured his knee celebrating that effort, necessitating that Pohl, whose mobility was limited, return with his team trailing 24-21 after a James Madison field goal. source *Maybe you had tears of joy effecting your vision from the Andrew Pratt (Green) TD. PS I think the same thing happen when you grew up GP1, but there was no internet, twitter, Facebook, etc. If we didn't see it with our own eyes, or the one local newspaper writer didn't catch it, we never knew about it. I'm okay with a QB celebrating a long TD pass anyway he wants as long as he doesn't get a flag thrown on him doing it. I hope he tweaks his knee 35 more times this year celebrating the same type of TD pass.
  20. Play to win, much more entertaining. QB's will be fine.
  21. Tailgating Guide "Every parking lot within a mile of the stadium should have tailgating going strong. Pioneer High School (corner opposite the stadium) turns into a tailgating lot during the day of the game -- lots of RVs park there. There's a lot of fun to be had with people that aren't just from Ann Arbor there. "The best experience on a Michigan game day, especially for a packed game like this, is walking down Hoover [street] and then onto Greene Street and just seeing how many people are there. It's a sea of maize and blue, meaning the idiots wearing red stick out like sore thumbs. My favorite sign I've ever seen was the in, like, '05, when OSU came to the Big House and a bunch of M Law guys had a banner saying 'M Law: Clarett Could've Walked.'" Sounds like our kind of group! Maize N Brew knows that good tailgating involves good drinking. A few of their suggestions: Left-Hand Milk Stout Schell's Lager Lancaster Strawberry Wheat Bengali Tiger IPA Mint Juleps
  22. I guess this was one of the games coach was speaking about when he said in the progression of the progrum, you start to win the close games late. So I'm sticking with that line for this game. Offensive line needs more practice. JMU was a well coached team, except for the clock management, which is a huge part of close games. If you don't think you can be well coached and be terrible at clock management, see Bill Cowher years before Ben. I'm still waiting on the young receivers to get more snaps for some exciting yac. Funniest line of the game, after we failed to field the kickoff following the failed two point conversion (another questionable coaching decision), fan behind me yells We need to clean up a lot, if we plan on competing in Ann Arbor.
  23. Sounds good to me. Next step would be, not counting the likes of bud, bud light, miller, miller light etc... My JMU list: Three Floyd's Gumballhead (unique for a wheat) Thanks K92 Mönchshof Kellerbier Ayinger Bräu Weisse Maudite (My first - & recommended) Sam Adams Imperial Stout (pass) Left Handed Polestar Pilsner Jacko Travler Shandy (unique for a pumpkin)
  24. My bad, you are correct.
  25. I wonder if tomorrow's program offers any hints?
