First site I went to this morning to check the same.
I'll have to ask coach if he thinks WPA talent "is not what it used to be", or are we just missing out.
I wonder what coaches TB has spoken to in the area?
I have to evaluate that from the stands to see what the situation is when he is bailing. I'm not celebrating the fact of him leaving the pocket until I get a look at the coverage. Many times QB's get comfortable pulling the ball down and running instead of making the proper read and trusting their ability. I'm not saying that is the case, but you can't judge this from a TV broadcast. I probably won't get to see the coaches film of this one. All in all, it was a successful debut for the youngster. I hope he works hard this offseason.
I wish it changed the outcome. At the very least they covered (for me), and we have a QB with a big arm for some years. Now build me a defense that can stop...no, that's asking a lot right now, SLOW down the run up the middle.
He could have thrown more, but he didn't pick up first downs, so he didn't have a chance. If he did, they would have been batted down at the line, or sailed over Suels head, or fluttered at someones feet.
James better be wearing his Roo Vest!?!
The 2002 Ohio State national championship team will be honored on the field during Saturday's game with Michigan, with a huge number of former Buckeyes expected to turn out for the occasion. And the 2012 Buckeyes, most of whom were recruited and coached by Tressel and many of whom still stay in touch with the old coach, are looking forward to it as well. Tressel has indicated his intentions to be part of the reunion.
I hope they invite that ref that made the
call.
Preferred walk on
In some instances, a college coach/recruiter may designate an athlete as a "preferred walk-on" during the scouting process. In this situation, the athlete is assured a spot on the team, but the coach is unable or unwilling to offer a scholarship.
BTW, this is from the first site that pops up when you type "preferred walk on football" in google.
Here is the first site that pops up when you type "grey shirt football" in google.
Grey-shirting: A player that commits to a team and then pays his own way through school for a semester to preserve his eligibility.
Columbus State football fans are petitioning President Obama to pardon its undefeated football team so it can play in an BCS bowl game (per Jimmy Traina of SI.)
The petition got removed today.
This gives me a few ideas...
Maybe fans were watching the NFL games? I have a friend in town that wanted to go to the game but he was by himself. I told him if the next game were not on Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday (interfering with football), I would go with him. I see the next one is on Sunday, I'll miss.
Go Zips.
